@@bobo44donemilking51 hi basil. No, it was a nickname given to me as a little boy. The basil brush show was my favorite and my mum bestowed the name to me, my name is Richard.
That's been my dream car since I was 12. I went from wanting Red/black stripes to black/white stripes about 10 years ago. I had the pleasure of seeing an LS6 in that color configuration at a car show.
that's what mine was doing anytime I hit the highway. it was running way too high, and when I got off. it was idling very low. like it was trying to die on me. I have a holly. I have to keep adjusting the thing.
Hi Nick I must say you have to be the luckiest man walking in Tennessee ghetto for to prepare and test driving each of them...I’m a HUGE Chevy fan and my favorite are 2 the 1968 Chevrolet Impala & 1964 Chevrolet Chevrolet Station Wagon...I do love the Pontiacs Buick’s and of course the Ford Mustang.....great super job Nick with showing off these cars everyday...I love them....
I am so upset I just bought a new Silverado. on the plus side, I just found a great dealer. every ride on your website is unbelievably priced, definitely will be a patron in the future.
She is a Beauty! She would be perfect if the shifter was in the middle. I have a 70 I've been building on for 3 years now. Ls swap an all. I wish now I would have went this route. Would have save me a ton of time! Love your vids! Keep'm coming!
I had a used 1970 SS 396/402 4- Speed Chevelle in High School. The engine was built a bit over stock and rumbled , when people asked me why it was making So Much noise I’d just tell em it had Big Balls. The noise is the license plate flapping on the bumper.
SS Chevelle's buckets and console was an extra. Best way to tell is the SS came with boxed lower control arms to the rear axil. Not the stock formed horse shoe type.
Good project for the money. Judging from SS hood but not the cowl induction bench seat and column shift it was maybe 350hp 396 but maybe not. Maybe 454 came like that too. Definitely from what I see I’d buy it if I was able. These gems are getting harder to find and prices are becoming higher then some enthusiasts can afford.
This one’s got the oh so rare factory Cowl Grilles and the Malibu Rocker Mouldings which are so rare I cannot recall ever seeing an Original SS with’em! Vacuum leak whistle is likely linked to the high idle.
Chevy was just killing it back in the day. The 1960 Chevy Impala, 1958 Bel Air, 1963 split window Corvette Stingray and this ☝️ fine muscle car. What happened to that company? The new corvettes are good and the Tahoe is a reliable gas guzzling V8 tank but nothing really innovative has come out of their line in years. Now Tesla has left them in the dust. Hard to believe it's the same company.
Im planning on stopping in when I make it down your way next time! Im looking for another 70 Camero Z28 Big Block 4sp car! Im also looking for another 69 Nova SS Big Block 4sp car! I had these car when I was barely out of high school and i miss them lol.. Looking forward to meeting you and checking out your cars! Thank you for your video's, I enjoy them all! Jimmy Moore, Zanesville Ohio.. Go Bucks!
Sounds weird in trunk.. Trunk lid is least of worry.. Shocks mounts was bad on a 72 we had . New gas tank pipes look new and sturdy.still nice car.wizh I had the funds.
Might be a clone, BUT lot's of SS's with the bench seat/column shifter auto...the round pod gauges are SS correct, or would have had the impala style speedo, and the steering wheel is aftermarket.
Fuel tank sounds loose... you should not be able to pound on the tank and hear a banging sound. The tank should be solid. Tighten the fuel tank straps near the rear axle...
Out of all the American Muscle cars I would take the Chevelle SS...or the '69 Camaro Z28. But I'm leaning more towards Chevelle. I've always had a thing for this car. It's so badass.
My dad purchased one brand new in 1970 I was able to get in 1977 after high school keep it for almost 20 years then for some stupid reason sold it regretted ever since
All SS's didn't come with buckets or floor shift console. Check the lower control arms for a bottom rectangular plate and the front plastic inner fenders to know for sure. Should be SS on all the interior, doors and dash plates too. This one looks like a clone for lots of reasons.
Look at the Body Bushings it sounded like the body was bouncing up and slamming down on the frame, with that water leaking into the trunk the body probably rotted out and the bushings may be gone
hard to tell from a video but kinda sounded like a simple busted right-rear shock...hopefully not a control arm. wheel-hop in a chevelle is a killer, seen em even crack the frame... big-block positraction chevelles need ladder-bars, mandatory.
It's kinda like looking at very convincing transvestite. It looks correct, then the doors open and you realize... things are not what they are supposed to be lmao.
Imagine leaving a hard days of work and driving that, with some modern interior and blasting your music in the highways. Damn that for me is a true dream

It's in great condition and we all know a lot of these cars are over 40 years old and they need some love and fixing
Hopefully the same thing will be about Honda Civics😄

Dad's favorite car! Had one around here 2 decades ago -- 454 LS 5 w/ 4 speed #'s matching, one owner, same colors. Beautiful ride!👍😎
Believe that actually was a 396 punched out to a 402 . Excessive research actually.
damn, one of my fav car too
Right after I got mine and when I would leave work I would lay rubber as far as it would go and in 10 minutes I was home. Lol yes I was hard on tires

Nice car! Sounds like a loose shock at top mounting bolts! Can’t build it for the price. Won’t be on the lot at Maple Motors. Thanks
GREAT looking Chevelle. Thanks Nick on the video.
That steering wheel had me cracking up, probably from trying to hold on lol
Fresh motor and some TLC , be an epic ride on cruise night. All the pieces are there.

I’m buying one for my birthday this year I promise that!!
Underneath looks pretty solid. Damn nice build.
these cars are still that they can go up to 120 130 or 140 so there still pretty fast even if there 50 years old!

Why not a 1971 Dodge demon in red you could be Dodge material Chevelle are overrated
@@AlejandroP1980s Don't do drugs John
From the moisture in the trunk I would say it is probably the trunk lid banging against the body as the weather seal isn't cushioning the trunk lid
Vette Fanatic the back window is leaking💯
Wish I had one as a daily driver. I remember there was a time when no foreign sports' car could touch this classic.
Great interior and exterior condition. Only needs a transmission and exhaust checkout and thats it. Great price, would buy it.
Check the inside rear frame bolts, they may be hitting the trunk pan
May be that tag flapping on that noise the big block chevelle is making. Love the car, thanks for the test drives!

While my first love are the Monte Carlos, this is a beautiful car.
nice car, it's designe so beautiful
The rattle in the back sounds like it could be a bad shock, possibly on the passenger's side. If so it's an easy and inexpensive fix.
Turn the idle down. And that noise is the right exhaust tip resting on the rear panel under the bumper
I am proud to say that my dad has one these
Right side exhaust extension is touching the bumper...when he let's off..it rattles against the bumper....
