    Thank you Lacey. You're instructional videos have opened up the world of "helper hair" for me. After I shared one of your videos to my husband he was eager for me to get one. Fortunately, we found a highly recommended hair loss consultant that was only 2 hours away. Yesterday we went for my consultation and ordered a custom made human hair topper. Having a qualified professional measure and advise me on color choice has taken the anxiety out of the process. When my topper comes in she will style it for me. As I wait I'm watching your "topper school" videos again to refresh my mind and to get mentally prepared for the new adventure. Again, thank you for your help.

    Love love love your encouragement. I never knew this was a thing. I was watching Judge Judy show an lady was suing the stylist for cutting the system too short but the ladies hair looked really nice. So that made me start checking this out. Your info was so helpful.

    Thanks for a great lesson in toppers! I have naturally wavy waist length hair and I wear it with a side part in a style similar to yours, but with the addition of side-swept fringe bangs. I'm just thinning a little on top, so don't want a dense topper. I also want the most realistic looking one. Your topper looks fantastic! Can you recommend one in particular for me?

    • @lacie.rodriguez
      @lacie.rodriguez  Рік тому +1

      If you’re thinning isn’t too severe, the toppers from Dimples Hair are super light density and work great cut in as a layer. They even have some smaller pieces if you just want a little bit of coverage 👍🏼

    I have worn hairpieces for years and had hair extensions about 20 years ago. My 1st go around was about 25 years ago and i had auburn hair (naturally light blonde). I'd wear the hairpieces between coloring because it looked like i had a bald spot. The hair extensions came into play when i cut my hair shorter. The next time was last year when i was diagnosed with metastatic malignant melanoma to the brain. I went through immunotherapy but the targeted radiation is where my waist length, bone straight blonde hair started falling out. I had just enough below the ears to anchor a hairpiece, this time with scarves. I had a 20 inch piece that i wear down or in a high bun. My natural hair is now 2 1/2 inches long, wavy, and silver and white. They said its not uncommon. Now I have a lot of styling options. Pixie with natural hair or I can put the piece and hide my natural hair. Im thinking of getting one that matches my bio hair so I can skip the scarves. I loved all of them and highly suggest them, especially for those that want to attempt coloring their hair at home. (Watch hair fail videos!!!) You can buy pastel and vivid colored wigs as well and you wont ruin your bio hair. Thanks for the great video!!!!!!

    Thank could you tell me how do they look with a pony tail and can you swim with them when they are secured to your existing hair ?

    • @lacie.rodriguez
      @lacie.rodriguez  Рік тому

      I wear mine in ponytails often and have no problem. I do typically have a comb in the front. When I’m going to put my hair in a ponytail, then I add a little dry shampoo/ hair spray where the comb will go and that makes all the difference.
      As far as swimming with it, that’s possible too! I do tend to use my synthetic toppers for that rather than my more expensive pieces.

    Hello Lacie, Just purchased my first no heat synthetic topper. Not a bad start so far. My question is if I’m not going to wash it often should I be applying some oil of some type to it even though it may not be worn all that often? Hi Tracy,
      I’m happy for you! 🤗 yes, since toppers don’t produce natural oils like our bio hair does, they need some help. They don’t need much, about a pea sized serum. This will help the topper last longer and keep it hydrated. I typically apply about once a week. 🙂

      @@lacie.rodriguez Thanks Lacie, for monitoring your comments on your videos, and getting back to me. I hope I can achieve as natural a look as yours. Without doctors knowing or advising me, that using anti-inflammatories for years, (which I did instead of getting a joint replaced) can cause some women to lose their hair. FDA is slow on the uptake, on getting that warning out..hm.....but then women would probably refuse to take them. Not all women lose significant hair due to anti-inflammatories. My hair was always fine, but at least, it covered my head with no wide parts! There is no other medical explanation for it, based on dr. visits/labs. Maybe it will come back some, after covid arresting elective surgeries are allowed, and I give in to a new hip. Too much skiing, and standing teaching. Finding a topper with a similar texture is essential... I've tried synthetics, may be all of them are too thick in the diameter of strands, so I need to stick to European hair. I'm following your other videos, thanks for your sharing.

      They’re both great options! For me, I like synthetics to wear when I got on hikes, swimming pools, or I know I’m going to get sweaty. I don’t feel like I have to baby my synthetic pieces. High quality and minimally processed hair is less shinier and gets tangled a lot less. 🙂 It also depends on ones budget. Synthetic hair costs less.

    The synthetic cheap ones are a waste! I’m so glad the first one I bought was real hair and 1,300.00. It is really worth it! Stay away from the inexpensive ones

      Minimally processed hair does last longer! Fortunately, there are some companies out there that carry great synthetic options that I actually rotate through often. Such as, DimplesHair and Uniwigs. ☺️

    • @lacie.rodriguez
      @lacie.rodriguez  3 роки тому

      It depends on where you live. I know of a few who do custom color through the mail. But it’s best to have a local stylist cut it for you. Let me know what you’re looking for as far as customization and where 👍🏼

      I don’t know how helpful this is but Sharon from highline wigs has this list of stylists and it is the most comprehensive that I know of. They are stylists that customers have recommended because they’ve worked on their pieces before. It’s a good place to start I think!

    Thank you for the brilliant information.Love your positive attitude. I am new to the world of helper hair..I need something, low density, very light on the head and like most people realistic..I have a very fragile scalp and hair, so don't want to use glues etc and very anxious about traction alopecia that may be caused by the topper clips. Could a top grip like the one Milano sells be more of an alternative? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated and apologies for all the questions. How much do you charge for online consultations or where should I look to find the information Thanks again

      @lacie.rodriguez  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Ellie! Yes! The topper grips are so helpful with comfort and avoiding traction alopecia. However you still have to deal with the back clips. I know of only one clipless topper that I’m working on a review for. I have my first impressions video up already-it’s called the Thin Hair Thick first impressions video. I have another video that explains my consultation service or you can go to www.topperconsult.lacierodriguez.com to schedule 👍🏼 it’s a $50 fee payable through PayPal 🤗
