Welcome Donnie! Good to see you again!
I agree, bring back the brooch!
Donnie says "Heyyyyy!" xoxo
I appreciate this informative video, especially the historical context. I'm a nerdy enamel pin guy, but very much into the formal masculine look. with a very regal feel.
Such a nice style description!
Awesome video .Thank You so much for sharing many different ways to wear brooch. The brooches you showing are so pretty . I love the way you wear with necklace and hair . Thank You so much for sharing ❤️
Thank you Irene! You are so welcome. The necklace and hair options can be unexpected! xoxo
What a great topic and video! I have a few brooches but never think to wear them. You should rewrite Justin Timberlake's song to be "I'm Bringing Brooches Back." Donnie is a great salesman. He really knows how to talk up his pieces and make them even more appealing. :) Where is he from? I'm trying to place that southern accent. Wow, it really is a versatile piece. I've never thought to wear a brooch on a necklace. I love that! Bye for now!
Thank you Autumn! Ha! Love the song idea!! Donnie is from North Carolina, but there is some Texas influence in there too. xoxo
Awesome video! Thanks for touching on the masculine side of it here, i am surprised to learn they were intentionally made for Men to wear, that's all I needed to know! I'm gonna start wearing them!
Soooooo many ways to wear the brooch - including on a jean jacket. When not in use, decorate a pillow with many for all to admire or mount in a display “picture frame”. Depending on the brooch closure, they can be used in place of a “scarf ring” too.
Such great ideas Ann! xoxo
I have totally worn earrings as brooches as well! I love a brooch on a hat! Really enjoy you two!
We are kindred spirits! xoxo
When that was mentioned,
I said out loud, I’ve done that! Love finding creative ways to intertwine our jewelry.
Love your channel Jill❤️ This is a Great video!!!
Thank you so much! xoxo
These brooches are beautiful. Loved this video. So much information!
We are so glad you liked it! xoxo
Wow, i love the brooch as a necklace pendant. It's also nice on our hair, i didn't realize that until you've shown it. I just love your videos! xoxo
Thank you! The necklace option is one of my favorites!! xoxo
Great ideas! I have a couple of omegas, sometimes I want to dress it up but don't have a pendant that fit through the omega lock. Now I can dress it up with my pearl and diamond pins or brooch. I do wear my brooches on my scarves, as belt buckle on a silk dress, hair clips, top button on a closed up blazer. All fun ideas. Thank you both!
Oh I'm so delighted to hear that you wear and love your brooches! Enjoy them on your omega. Now you have new necklaces!! xoxo
Great suggestions on wearing brooches. I have used a brooch as a “button” to close a cardigan. The two of you are so fun!
Thank you Michele! I love your "button" idea!! xoxo
I have been waiting for a video like this! I've just starting tying small scarves around my wrist (just so I don't have to give up wearing scarves in this wretched Georgia weather, lol!) I'm going to try adding a brooch to the knot. I had a beautiful collection of vintage and costume brooches that I purged when minimalism became a thing, so sad! But I'm slowly building my collection up again.
Currently, I rotate a trio of brooches on my old Levi's denim jacket. I carry it with me everywhere incase the ac is too much.
This video was fantastic! So glad you made this one!
Thank you! Yay! I'm so glad you liked it and that it sparked some ideas!! xoxo
Yes a twilly around the wrist with the brooch on it how cool is that
I love the videos you and Donnie do! I can tell you guys are best friends! Thanks for sharing all these creative ways to wear this item. I’ve always considered some of the Chanel broaches, but I’d need to get a cool jean jacket or something to put them on lol.
Thank you! If I can tie Donnie down we'll do more. He travels so much!! A jean jacket would be a great option, but you could also rock it on a Tshirt with the sleeves rolled up or on a hat or scarf. xoxo
@@JillMaurer ua-cam.com/video/DUABNXXEuwI/v-deo.html Stopping by again Jill to let you know I uplaoded my video that you tagged me in: most used, least used and cutest handbag. I've provided the link. Thanks again for tagging me!
I adore each of the pieces you showed. I always worry about puncturing the fabric...I've done that earring trick too!
Puncturing is an issue for some fabrics. Knits and looser weaves are easier to work with. xoxo
what a great video, cheers!
Aww thank you!
Donnie is the best!!! I just love him. He is so knowledgeable and i love his energy. I love brooches. My mom always wore a brooch to church or a fancy affair. I guess that's what started my love for brooches. I wear them on my lapels, sweaters, skirts, hats, scarfs, etc. Michelle Obama wore a lot of brooches too. She wore smaller brooches in a cluster on her cardigans. I thought that was unique and lovely. Great video Jill.
I agree Andrea! I just love Donnie!! You have a lovely brooch collection, and it's wonderful that you wear them in so many ways! xoxo
Such a pleasant and different video to watch. 💎
Thank you! xoxo
I concur, I used to wear brooches all the time in the 80s. Love them.. art deco and interesting..
Oh the 80s! We were so rad!! xoxo
WOW Thank You! I have all of my great grandmother and grandmother's brootches and shoulder brooches as well and never have worn them. Do you remember the shoulder brootch? They usually have two or three pins and lays on the shoulder and many were animals like tiger with ruby eyes etc. Thank you so much for this video! I enjoy the two of you together! Have a great day my friend! 👍
Oh yes shoulder brooches are so fun! It sounds like you have an amazing collection!! xoxo
The brooches on that ring necklace looked fantastic! I never really loved brooches as much as I love all other kinds of jewelry, but then last year I found a silver Dutch design from the late 30s and had to have it. I now wear it on thick scarves and just love it!
Oh your brooch sounds wonderful! Let me know if you decide to try it on a necklace!! xoxo
@@JillMaurer The brooch depicts a scene and is horizontal, so I can't put it on a necklace, but for round or more uniform brooches that would be fantastic!
Yes bring the brooch back when I was in the office in the 90s I hung them from a big strand of pearls. Mind you I’m a costume jewelry kind of a girl but it just doesn’t matter. Now maybe I should use a leather strap that might give it a more contemporary look. Thank you donny for coming back I don’t think The every day man even understand the history behind dressing. Thank you for the enlightenment. Oh and you too Jill. Ha ha. Kidding of course
Brooches look great on pearls, but I especially love them on the leather. So modern! Let us know if you try it!! You are so welcome from both of us by the way!! xoxo
I love broaches and scarfs but somehow they rarely look right . Don’t know how to use them but I did get some great ideas from you all today .Thank you for posting this.
Blessings and Peace 🙏🏻
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Just keep practicing. Start with simple ideas and work up from there. xoxo
Fabulous video! I was given a beautiful 3"+ Ciner tiger brooch from my hubby's grandmother. I was wondering how to attach it to an Omega or torsade necklace. Where do I find a conversion clip?
Wow that sounds gorgeous! Is it a shoulder brooch? If it is flexible you can lay it over your shoulder. We didn't use a conversion clip. Donnie's pins were fur clips (two parallel pins). xoxo
My grandmother always wore scarfs. She always wanted to cover her throat as she was always cold, and scarfs where the way she did it. She often pinned a brooch where she knotted them. I thought she was so stylish. Now unfortunately she has Alzheimer’s, can no longer communicate nor recognize anything, or anyone, and it’s a miracle if we can get her to wear any jewelry at all. So sad.
Oh Sharon she does sound like she was such a stylish woman. I'm so sorry to hear about her struggles (and yours) now. xoxo
Brooch should be wear on left not on Right because bag’s usually brought at right shoulder.
When I took a modeling class they taught me to wear my purse on my left shoulder since I'm right handed. That way my right hand was free to shake hands, open doors, and the like.
