I would spend many a Sunday trawling through posh antique markets with my father when I was a teenager. It started off two collections - champagne and cocktail glasses and brooches. My career attire had to be classic and formal ..... But was often punctuated with a 1950's glitzy piece! Together with a silk scarf, they were my way to add a little individuality. You made me realise that I haven't worn a brooch in ten years and need to start flaunting them again!
For a while, I worked in a very strict business suit environment. But always had a brooch at the neck or lapel - or sometimes 3 on a pocket slash. My stockings were tone on tone mini fishnets, too. They always thought I was so "creative." (You should have seen me off hours.) New here and adore you.

I've just been given one of my grandmother's brooches and have been utterly at a loss with what to do with it! But now I'm definitely going to try the under the collar of a shirt look!

Thanks for reminding me of my brooches! I bought so many flowery ones some years ago that I keep finding them in the most different places of my home. Don't know how my husband didn't call me flower girl at that time, as I was using them in my hair all the time!
And even put one on my pearl necklace for a wedding where I was using a suit combination. It just updated the whole outfit!

I own 100s of broaches and have worn them for decades…. I even have the same red/white/blue metal flower pinwheels from the 70s, you’ve got - they’re so fun!
BUTT, you’re right, very few of us wear them anymore. I like wearing them in my hair; especially the big oversized silk flower ones. I attach them via two safety pins to my biggest hair clip (I have below the shoulder length hair) and clip my hair into a French twist with the broach on one side like Carman Miranda.
I even decorate my home with them. They are great on lamp shades, curtain tie-backs, guest towels in the powder room, etc. I’ve even glued (inexpensive ones) to vases and I’ve put them on decorative wire cloches and bird cages that I use for seasonal centerpieces or displays.
Anybody I see wearing one, I always notice and make sure I tell them it looks beautiful….to encourage them to keep rocking it!!
I think they are super fun, conversation starters, seasonal and they just give you a little something extra in your day. Try it for yourselves!!

I have an ever growing collection of mostly antique insect brooches. I have long hair that I braid into fancy updos and stick the pin in my hair. I get so many compliments! I love being the lady with bugs in my hair!

Adore broaches. You can get an ornate picture frame and put velvet inside it. Then display your broaches as mini pieces of art when you are not wearing them. I just love all of your presentations!

I ADORE a good brooch!! I wear them all the time! They add so much individuality to a person’s outfit. You could have 2 people wearing the exact same outfit, but if one person has a brooch on…. It will make them look more elevated and stylish! 👌🏻

I have tons of vintage brooches! I'm collecting the 60s flowers again- I gifted my 1st collection...I do the hat often & the pins on jackets, but I need to start wearing them on my shirts & dresses more, more more! And I will def be wearing the pin chokers!!! Great idea!!! Cheers to being extra!!!!

I have a massive collection of vintage brooches. They're always so cheap at estate sales. I use them to close drapey cardigans, and display them in a big shadowbox.

I LOVE broaches! I've got quite a few, and also wear them in unusual spots...one of my favorites is the top of my blazer sleeves....looks almost like a bracelet.

I'm in a middle child and I'm addicted to brooches. I love them and seldom leave the house without one on. Small to mammoth, sets, antiques, I have them. I bead and gold work brooches to set off an outfit. Absolutely love a good Cameo.
