Thank you! When it comes to decisions on if I should or not upgrade my phone I would always look for your opinion. This year I won't be upgrading my 11pro Max, it's not worth it, like you said, basically the same phone with minimal upgrades that I don't truly need. Thank you again for saving me of making a mistake, I was about to order a 12 pro but I'll hold on until the iPhone 13 generation. Great review as always!!!!

Glad to see MagSafe works with a Pitaka case. I’ve been using their cases for the last few iPhone models. It’s nice to see it in action, it’s my favorite minimal case so far. I love the texture & extra grip they provide & they look gorgeous as usual.

I think the flat sides actually improve the grip, compared to the rounded ones. Even if they add a little to the girth of the phone, they stick to the fingers better.
You're exactly right about the $120 difference between the 128 gb regular iPhone 12 and the 12 Pro. This is why I went ahead and sprung for the Pro. Great video, Lisa.

The Google world is better on iPhone. Products like Gmail, Google Maps, and UA-cam pre-date Android and don't report to the Android SVP. They're free to hire their own developers, and their iOS devs are generally more talented than their Android devs.
Great review as usual. I can’t make up my mind now whether to upgrade. I’m a proud owner of an iPhone 6 which is still kicking but it’s beginning to show its age. And the 12/12 pro is speaking to me. Will this be a Great Leap Forward if I make the switch?
I don't get all the comments saying that Apple doesn't inovate or that it's almost the same phone like last year. Look at Samsung, do you really see a huge difference between Note 10 and Note 20? Of course, Apple could bring at least 2 important things: fingerprint and usb c, and they will for sure. I use an Note 10 Plus, had an XS before and now I'm just thinking if I get the 12 Pro or not. I just like both and they offer a nice experience overall. These days is hard to bring new features and the most important, useful features. I have a lot features on my Note, but I really don't use all of them. Both phones are great, and I really don't know which phone I should get, as I love to change my phone every year, can't stop doing this. Thanks for reading, hope to get some friendly reactions.

I have an 11 pro but may well upgrade for future proofing with 5G but just as important I want more storage (64GB on iPhone 11 Pro measly last year) as high def music downloads really does take up space. Only concern is battery life on 5g. Think you nailed it on mm band it will consume more, but here in UK we have the low and mid band 5g which is plenty. By the way, was that the pacific blue? that one looks like a nice colour. Keep up the good work.
1) Love your shirt. 2) I thought there was a difference with the 18w and the 20w with fast charging with the 12 series, but I guess that was with MagSafe. 4) I miss the 5.8” display size. That was the sweet spot for my small hands.

I was going to keep my XS until next year until I got rained on and I'm guessing the water resistant sealing wore off over time and it won't turn on :/ Now getting the 12 Pro with Apple Care. The one thing I did not like about the XS was my apps constantly reloading, so I'm pretty excited :)
Hey Lisa! Great review. Considering the videos say HDR(upper left corner), are TV’s with HDR making use of that less the Dolby Vision part of it. Not really sure what the difference is. I suppose regular HDR would be all one could expect at this point.
Oh Apple! They could have at least included the charger this year, and then leave it out next year. Who really has a usb-c to lighting cable laying around at this time. They just want to make the transition harder for some reason. Enjoyed your review as always. Will there be a review for the Sony Xperia 5 ii? Ironically Apple went back to the flat sides...Sony did the same for the Xperia 1ii, but for some odd reason didn't keep the Xperia 5 ii.
"Who really has a usb-c to lighting cable laying around at this time?" the c to lightning cable is included in the box... If you only have an A charger you can use your existing A Lighting cable like you did with the phone you replaced. If you're upgrading from an iPhone... use your old charger. If you're upgrading from an Android device you can use a C charger that most Android phones ship with.
As an iPhone user and developer, it's actually nice not have it change completely every time. It's software services these days anyway and you can see why developers make so much and so fast for iOS (next to users paying more, it's also easier for developers). I do have to say I've always "hated" the direction the hardware was going in, super-big but also the rounded designs starting with the 6, kind of ugly and slippery. These new iPhones I will get used to almost immediately, which is also a bit boring for that much money, but I sooooo love this design, I'm actually upgrading from an 8 to the pro, just because of that. :) The real negative thing about these new designs is the lower battery capacity, I don't like how Apple simply focuses on a set number of hours per day, sure they optimize iOS to keep that the same and making the phone lighter, but I really would love a heavier, few mm's thicker, iPhone that suddenly has 1.5 days of life.

Comparing the MSRP of Samsung flagships with iPhone prices are not a fair comparison. Samsung phones normally having frequent sells in their own site and by various retailers, offers huge exchange values as well. For example, now SEP can be found at $640 from Microsoft ashore and the plus model at $700. Apple phones never offer such sales except the carrier cashback deals with new connection, but that's true for every other flagships as well.

I would prefer the regular 12. Better value for money same screen size, display and speakers and nicer colour options

Right, shallower depth of field. As to whether folks call that improved (or more) depth of field, or less. That seems to vary.

That color gets so many compliments everywhere I go. Even non-car enthusiasts come over to compliment it.
