A Woman was needing a lawyer but every lawyer they gave her asked to be taken off because the lady would only want a black lawyer and made a scene screaming it was her right to choose a black lawyer, But the court told her to just go hire her own attorney because all the attorneys were given to her free .

Sometime about a year or so ago, there was a court case where the man thought he was a victim of double jeopardy. He just kept repeating DOUBLE JEOPARDY! loudly every time the judge took a breath. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in a courtroom. I wish I could remember what court that was.
If it is the same one I'm thinking of, it was out of court in Rhode Island, Judge Frank Caprio
Though that one was much further back than 1 year.

I deal with this crap for years from management and never complain cause they never fix shyt. Just last week they finally fixed 3 leaks I had for a year and 2 wks. Plus I have a hole in the ceiling from the prob. that they left unfixed amongst other issues. Damn shame but they make sure they want that RENT though.

He served for the bond VIOLATION ONLY not for the case. She revoked your bond duh so you have to wait in jail until your case is heard. And because you keep changing lawyers the case keeps taking longer. And I feel so bad for his child and the scared woman who is the mother of the child. If there is a hole in your window and the whole window is not busted out, self-preservation says put something over the hole to block the hole or to block the elements from coming in. Whether it is a cardboard or a piece of wood. Of course the landlord is going to have to replace it, but you don't let yourself intentionally suffer while you're waiting on the landlord

I do it the easy way, it comes right out of my account, I've never had a problem yet.thete are people where I live that complain every single month a out how broke they are, I tried telling them to pay like I do ,that way then they would have the rent and utilities payed and anything left in the bank is free money to them, but they don't listen, some people will never learn.

Why stay there for 7 months, if its unlivable or so hard to live in? Why not leave and stay with mom or have them move you to another unit? Any extra money you had to pay like hotel costs and extra heaters or whatever, she could sue them for. Even if she moved on her own to another apartment complex, she could sue them for pay difference, deposits, & cost of moving, you don't just stay. She has a place to go. Why stay and suffer? On top of all that, she has a history of not paying rent, which makes her look bad.

That is also in some contracts. She was withholding funds, so according to her she had the money. Maybe you should do some research before making incorret statements.

She did stay at her mother's some. If the judge didn't rule in her favor she would be responsible for two leases the one current one and the one she a had moved out of. Most people can't afford to pay for two leases. So, you do what you have to do. I would have fixed my window with a piece of wood.

yikes! i mean geeze louise! way back in the 80’s i was raising my late son by myself after finally divorcing his abusive father. hard as it was, i worked sometimes 3 jobs when he started kindergarten to make ends meet. My freaking rent was the very First bill i paid every single month, even before food shopping! i ain’t going to lie, some months were tense witha few sleepless nights but i Never Ever paid rent late! without a roof over your head, common sense, right? luckily my sweet boy loved hamburger helper and sloppy joe’s! lol i remember sometimes some of his little buddies would ask him if they could stay for dinner because they all knew his mommie cooked dinner Every single night, Never Ever left him by himself and his mom Never Ever went out at night or had dates, unless it was our monthly date together After the rent was paid when i got all my paychecks. people sure do have a ton of crazy excuses by Zero Accountability! smdh

Wait, so no one bothered to board up the window until it got fixed? I find it REALLY hard to believe that it was literally just left open to the elements for 7 months. Or did they board it up, and the person NOT PAYING RENT is trying to trick the judge into thinkimg it was just wide open? If it was boarded up and sealed. It wouldn't make it colder in the apartment. It might even make it warmer. Windows arent insulated, neither is a board, so no difference on that aspect. MAAAYBE a double pane, well sealed window might retain heat slightly better than a board, but nlt requiring multiple extra heaters. Plus having a baby in there with a wide open lack of a window is not securing your child. She could have blocked up the window or boarded it herself if they didn't. I know it's not her responsibility, but putting your child through extra risk and hardship over something as petty as q peice of wood scrap and a few nails is terrible parenting. Likely scenario is it WAS boarded up, and that the only negative effect would be cosmetic. The ability to LOOK through it.
These people are so entrenched in the court system, they obviously forget that the issue of WHY they got into their particular mess completely ghosts them....however, many of these people do not know anything else due to the education systems funding. That in and of itself is the systemic issue we ALL need to recognize, and correct....and that may curb a lot of these woes we may find objectionable...just mho.

The premise being habitable is a pre-condition of receiving rent. Broken window for half a year, broken water heater, these are habitability issues. Her rent should have been lowered for those months to compensate. I'm NY, there are statutory limits to how high a rent late fee can be and in evictions (at least in my county) late fees are routinely waived when getting a money judgement or even a pay to stay. So much so, that LL atty usually don't even put it into pleadings. Idk what is going on in Michigan is crazy.

I remember the last guy!!!!!! He is the one that was very close to getting away with assaulting his baby mama. He made multiple calls the night b4 court to intimidate her into not coming. It almost worked and he was minutes away from getting his case dropped after DA and Judge had tried to reach her all morning. You could tell she was afraid of him FR. Then he was taken into custody and had his bond revoked. This guy is a real POS.

Tell him judge if you can get him to STFU! She needs to get her communication with the jail improved. Either her clerks or their representatives are not doing their jobs. They must not be reading the paperwork that comes with the prisoners.
She would hate our late fees than. And the court cost even if it doesnt go to court. If you pay on the 16th you have to pay: 350$ extra and if its a week later its 375 or 400

Dude was just hearing what he wanted and only interpreting the facts how he wanted. Just listening to what happened it sounds like bail was revoked and for some reason maybe instead of showing no bound the bail showed up as $0 bound so they let him go. He really try to say his bound was $0 that's why he was let go , yes dude and that was the mistake . Pretty sure double jeopardy doesn't apply to administrative actions so you cant get your bound revoked come back and argue well I've already had my bound revoked on the same case so you can't do it again
Wow no window and then theybdidnt rush to get the hot water heater. They were going to let it go for over 2 months for the hot water heater. And they also give her attitude qbout the window. SHE HAS A 8 MONTH OLD BABY. I had a manager at my place who treatedbus like crapnafter my hubands major car accident. We got help with rent because we had no income for a month because we were having issues with HR. And the front office worker, who do3snt live 8n our neighborhood, decuded to tell me she always paysnher bills on time so she has no sympathy. I showed her our crushed car and said i bet your car wasnt looking like that and no one in hervfamioy got into an accideny like that. And she justbscoffed. So glad they fired her shortly after. Im so sick and puking tired of deadbeat tenants. You DONT get to NOT PAY RENT at all, just because there is unimportant maintenance issues that arent resolved to a tenants liking or self entitled time frames. When you pay your rent LATE, you get charged a LATE FEE. This fee, the amount and grace period ks AGREED UPON by the tenant upon signing the lease, which is A legal binding document. Also withholding rent for any reason is grounds for eviction.
When your hall light bulb burns out, and the office gives you a new one, but you REFUSE to put it in, is NOT AS IMPORTANT or critical as a plumbing problem flooding another apartment, or someone's oven stopped working. Also, you must ACTUALLY folllow the process to request maintenance. They cannot read your mind. When you break out your window, and board it up, that is a reasonable work around until it can be fixed permanently. If you damage the property by anger, or negligence, they arent obligated to keep fixing things you break.

The case with broken window is terrible actions or lack there of from land lord. Just because landlord does not have in house or even local vendor to replace window is an excuse that does not justify lack of timely actions.

Yeah, when I see or hear judges act in a way that a normal person wouldn't act, that's a red flag to me. They feel entitled to treat us "normies" like horse shit instead of using their brains to solve the issue. They think they can be extreme smart asses, or speak loudly and sternly for no real reason at all, but other than to comfort their bruised ego. It's just distasteful to me too and it's so00o noticeable too if you understand those kinds of things. I can really respect and like a judge that doesn't act like a 10 year old bully on the middle school playground.
