I carry mine on my side inside my beltline. And I find it very easy to get to. I'm 65 years old and have been carrying a gun my whole life. And thank God I have never had to use it so far
I got a pocket holster for my p365. While I know it's a longer draw time, it's far more comfortable for long drives or sitting. If I need to, I keep an IWB holster in my car that I usually use at the 4 o'clock position.
Urban Carry has been a great carry system for me for many years. One great benefit is that no matter what you are wearing, the muscle memory is exactly the same each and every time. I have an LCP and a Sig P365 that are setup with the Urban Carry.
I liked how he mention that carrying a gun is NOT comfortable. That’s something I learned on my own that not many people mention. There’s no secret spot or holster. It’s uncomfortable and you’re going to feel it. You just get used to it.
My teacher at the ohio peace officer training academy always said "carrying a gun isnt suppose to be comfortable its supposed to be comforting" definitely agree ....
Always be open to learning. There's so much information out there. Just Always make sure you are learning from someone who is credible so you aren't learning bad habits. 👍 that and training is where it's at.
Thanks for not loading up your videos with fear mongering pointless stuff and getting straight to the point. Appreciate the insight. Former MP and went through in-person protective services training, but no one really went over the points of concealed carry positions, so even during my PS training I was super awkward in South Carolina with a gun in a jacket in spring, lol. This gives ideas on what to try and a good level of expectation for results.
I like AIWB, and it works for me, but I completely respect that some people aren't comfortable with it. It takes confidence in your gun, your rig, and most importantly: yourself.
As a full time police officer (retired) for 27 years, we were required to wear our duty holster in the strong hand hip position. For us, that meant wearing it at about 2:30 position. It's not as comfortable as 4 o'clock, but it is better for driving. The main reason though was for weapon retention, as police officers are regularly exposed to a disarming threat. That same threat will present for anyone who unfortunately is attacked while carrying, but likely will have less drill training on retention. I always carry in this same location as a retiree, both IWB and OWB. Just something to consider. Good video!!
I carry strong hip, OWB in a safariland ALS. It’s everything you said on comfort and accessibility. One thing that didn’t get mentioned though is that in that face to face pushing scenario, if you carry at the hip all you have to do is drop your strong leg back and it blades your body between the weapon and attacker.
I carry a shoulder rig I designed and made myself, after trying a lot of popular designs. I find that a well designed and adjusted shoulder rig is absolutely comfortable to wear from the moment you get up, too the moment you go to bed.
That was the most informative non-answer to an impossible question I have heard. Great Job Kevin. I think you covered all the bases since you are correct. ONLY YOU can decide how to carry WHAT!
He so far has not answered any question proposed. Like the legal system purposely leaves laws in place to convict victims that survive the attack. Also its lawyers who know what needs to be corrected, however then they make less money.
I carry at 2 o'clock and I have my IWB holster set for a forward cant. This makes the muzzle point outside my leg when seated. I can easily carry a CZ P09 with a threaded barrel because the length doesn't matter. I practiced drawing each position from 1-4 and found I was fastest at 2 o'clock. 3 was a very close second at a few hundredths slower and 1 was a not as close third at a couple tenths slower. 4 was just way slower. I was taught that you treat every gun like it is loaded and never let the muzzle point at anything you don't want destroyed. I'd consider my junk as something I do not want destroyed. I'd rather not have the only thing stopping my nuts being shot off being my concentration and never ever making a mistake. If your only safety is the one between your ears, it is the least reliable safety. People screw up. I'd rather have a system that doesn't cost me that much if I did.
How far forward is that cant? I feel like it’s gotta be a hefty one to point outside your leg when sitting. I find the gun stabs my dang leg when carrying appendix so if there’s a way to avoid that I’m all ears. I currently carry 4 o’clock so I can sit down without having the gun jabbing my leg.
@@andrewwilborn4144 the cant isn't extreme. Moving the holster to behind the front pocket half way between appendix and 3 o'clock is the key. You just have to work with the adjustments on the holster. I'm wearing a custom hybrid holster similar to a Galco King Tuck.
I carry on the small of my back, inside waistband. I didn't see anyone else calling that out, and that surprised me. This was how I also carried my backup weapon when I was a deputy. Backup was an SP101, primary was a Security Six, both in .357 mag. It was the most comfortable, pants belt high on the hip, duty belt below the pants belt. I made my own keepers and I could sit, drive, and run very comfortably. Retired now, but still carry it there.
You never had any issues with printing when bending over to pick something up or tie your shoes or anything like that? I carry the same way BUT I have to be very careful what I wear due to some printing or exposing much more than others. I always like to check in a long, stand up mirror just to be sure.
I carry fairly close to the small of the back, however it's offset slightly off of 6 o'clock to avoid being directly over the spine. Should you ever get shoved and fall backward carrying in the small of the back directly over the spin could set you up for a spinal injury. It is a comfortable position, which I used till my son pointed out the potential problem with a spinal injury should you take a backward fall.
I carry a Beretta M9A3 in a custom leather holster OWB. Some times I carry concealed, sometimes I carry open. Depends on what I am wearing and the temperature. I live in Tucson AZ , where temperatures are constantly 100 degrees plus. I mostly carry open, it is more comfortable.
Been carrying a gun everyday for about 6years. Got a belly so never tried APENDDIX carry, but i did use IWB strong side for a while and it worked great as long as you think about the outfit you wear, what you are doing that day, the weather, and the grip texture of the gun you chose to carry. Been rocking the vedder pocket holster for about 2 years and i love it for a pps m2. Great getting in/ out of vehicles, some cons are muzzle direction when in a seated position, slower draw, and you do have to clean your ccw often due to pocket lint.
Over the last decade, I have owned about ten quality gun belts. Out of everything I've tried, KORE Essentials have been the absolute best. I found them in summer of 2020 and now have three, depending on dress. I generally appendix carry in a Vedder Light Tuck. The only time I carry OWB is a GP100 in the woods. 6'0", 160lb, slim build.
@@debbiesawyer1004 That is a great question! There are a variety of factors that come into play, the position you prefer to carry, the size of the firearm you're trying to conceal, the type of holster etc. Here is a free guide and a blog article on this topic! Below that is also a link to Alexo Athletica which makes some great athletic clothing for ladies with concealed carry in mind! I wish I could say the same thing I got one of their belts and have nothing but problems with it I'm 6'1 235 and the belt comes lose all the time and when I have my pants down low to use the bathroom the dang thing folds over and points the gun right at me. I have talked to customer service and the lady just kept saying they don't do that but when you use a metal hook to grab onto plastic cuts they don't hold that well so I said screw it got a hanks steel core leather belt and I don't regret it at all
Let's all appreciate the USCCA and Kevin for these videos. I love that Kevin speaks naturally and looks/acts like your everyday, beer drinking, blue-collared American....just like me and most of you. :)
I have bought holsters for all positions, inside and out. My holster/position choice based on activities and clothing. My favorite carry position is strong side, 3 O’Clock, outside.
I have a .38 special and was thinking about doing that as well haven’t tried it yet. I’ve been accumulating a bunch of holsters but haven’t found one that I’m truly happy with
I utilize the "floating gun" concept using a S&W 642. AIWB when driving sitting, etc. moves to front pocket in a soft holster (which I carry in my front pocket all the time) when I am walking/standing and moves to coat pocket without a holster in cold months (no need for a holster with a 12 pound trigger and I want the option to just shoot through the pocket) which make belt carry too slow. I also sometimes use a 3:00 OWB when using an open cover garment like a western vest. I have even just palmed the gun in hand while going to and fro in a late night rest stop,or dark parking lot. Pocket carry is the only method that gives you discreet hand on gun and with hand on gun the fastest shot on target. One concealed gun can do it all if your competent.
N82 iwb, 4 o'clock when walking, 3 o'clock when driving, in front of lap belt. I've tried several different holsters and one thing I kept in mind was comfort. Some holsters just simply don't work for your body style. And the worst thing you can do while carrying, is to fidget around getting your holster in a comfortable position, and possibly drawing attention to yourself. When you find the one that fits your needs, it becomes "part of you" and you forget you're carrying.
I started wearing in front (appendixish) more like barrel at 12 o’clock since December 2020. Before I carried pocket then moved to outside but printed bad so then I switched to 3:30 inside. I didn’t mind 3:30 but what made me change to 12 o’clock appendix was my wife and I were driving and a driver started tailgating and acting all crazy. I had to remove my seatbelt in order to unholster for just in case. So that’s my why and I wished I’ve carried this way all alone since 2002. I started with a leather holster that I made to try appendix and then ended up with a kydex. I had to adjust my holster to get a deeper concealment but I can bend, sit and drive without messing with it until I eat way to much LOL!. I also use a Kore belt which a good belt is a must have. UA-cam has a tons of videos on appendix carry. Good video!
I appendix carry every day pretty much right in the middle, strong side or cross draw is very uncomfortable and jabs my legs (may be my holster/weapon who knows) I’m pretty skinny so it’s the o oh way I can without printing all over 😂
i use Alienware holsters IWB for my EDC which is now a Shield Plus. I also have a conceal carry belt for my waist since I have a beer belly. I use both for appendix because that's most comfortable for me. If i put it on my hip in the 3/4 o'clock position actually hurts me. So everyone is different.
5’10” and 270lbs so needless to say i have a fairly large midsection. Iwb appendix carry works great for me with my g3c walking/hiking and most daily activities.
IWB 1 to 2 o'clock for smaller pistols, OWB 3 to 4 for large frame open carry. I have not mastered SOB, but do have a holster. Absolute CC deap carry with a Smart Carry- "THE INVISABLE HOLSTER". I like a chest rig in the winter for dog walking (around the block) with a warm coat. My primary vote: IWB 1:30
I have found that appendix carry is more comfortable for me. Tried the 4:00 , but was awkward when trying to draw gun. Good luck and find what is best for you.
As a woman it’s hard to find jeans that fit aren’t super high and cutting me in half at the belly button. But having a concealed carry mini cross body backpack with a cc pocket has been a god send. I’m actually used to having it closer to my right side and hand so all I have to do is pull the Velcro apart reach in grab and go!! I think we need more videos like this but perhaps with more female viewers in mind who may not or aren’t able to have a holster on their waist band
I am increasingly becoming a fan of pocket carry in the summer with shorts. I have found myself not even taking my gun off when I am at home as I can barely tell its there. Sig P365X with Kydex trigger holster tied to the belt.
I use a minimalist type of slide holster that I can move too different Positions If I am driving the seat belt gets in the way so I can slide the holster further forward to make it easier to draw my weapon if needed. X
I decided right away that a IWB holster was best for me. I like having in front of me as I feel it gives me full control of my firearm. Bravo Concealment have been my holsters for my summer (smaller CCW) and winter (4” barrel) carry.
It really depends on your size and your fashion style… I’m a skinny dude and I wear skinny clothes appendix carry is best for me… Glock 19 ..Smith and Wesson shield... bursa thunder… The list goes on but it has to fit your profile and style of fashion or you’ll get called out for printing. Also… Holsters have adjustable angles for the belt clip, you can literally angle it to your body shape for more concealment… Hope that helps you have a nice day
I carry like you do. I call it 4.30 position, because it's centered almost between my hip and spine. I have it canted quite far forward thought. I carry a CZ 75D PCR and the 4.30 is the most concealable place I can find. It's decently comfortable as well.
Kevin, one thing I wish you'd mentioned, and which was taught to me decades ago, is that when carrying SSH and OWB, one of the things you want to do is span a belt loop. Most pairs of pants that you'd wear while using this style carry will have a belt loop in the perfect position for this. What you want to do is bring your belt through the rearward slot on the holster, then through the belt loop, then through the front slot on the holster. This effectively locks the holster so it has limited room to slide on the belt, and helps keep the belt from sagging with the weight of the gun and holster. Two added benefits are that it helps keep the gun close to your body, reducing printing, and reduces the length of your draw pull by preventing the holster from being lifted with the gun. You'll clear the holster much quicker and easier like this. Oh, and "program compliance" means you find the most effective and most comfortable ways to carry pretty early on, or forever cuss the added weight and difficulty of CCW. I carry everywhere, every time. In the house or out of the house, I'm armed (unless I legally can't be). I never forget that I'm carrying, but I also stopped really feeling it long ago because I found the right combinations of gun and holster for each "mode". My default is a fairly light single stack, OWB in a good leather holster. It rides comfortably, the spare mags ride in pockets tailored to them, and I rarely print. At home, in my lounging clothes, a subcompact in a pocket holster does the job, and does double duty as a BUG or as my sole carry where I absolutely can't risk printing, such as in an office where carrying is sharply frowned upon.
Good advice. Often, even summer carry can be effective with a single-stack and a good OWB holster. I use both IWB (G43 & sometimes G48) & OWB (G48 & sometimes G43) on a regular basis. A single-stack In a good OWB holster can be just as concealed as a double-stack in a good IWB.
Depends on mode of transportation. In no piticular order..... 3:00 right hip. Fobus RU-97 Shoulder holster. At home..... Nightstand locked & loaded. 1 in chamber.
Frankly I'd like more information on both IWB holsters you demonstrated. I've been carrying for more than 40 yrs; full size, compact, pistol, revolver... your statement that "you might have to try a few holsters before you find what works" is completely true. I own 11 handguns and have carried almost all of them at one time or another. Multiply "a few" holsters by that and, well, I can confidently say that I have boxes of holsters! And there's the rub. There's no single holster that fits all the bill all the time. But holsters have evolved in all those intervening years and there are many options available today that weren't available just a few years ago, and that causes another problem: there's so many! So when I see something new to me I want to gather more information to see if it might fit my want/need. Because quality holsters aren't cheap either. Probably have to buy more boxes or at least start a holster swap meet...
I'm 6'4", 265 lbs..and a dad bod. I have had zero issues with my Raw Dog Tactical IWB holster carrying appendix. Love their Kydex outer shell and leather backing. I can sit, drive, bend over, etc without issue.
A friend of mine walked into Walmart.Just as he was about to walk by the Greeter. His legal concealed pistol fell out on the floor! Yes, there is a need for better holsters.
Kevin: I disagree with you on one point, carrying a weapon is comforting AND can be comfortable given the correct holster and position for you. I carry a S&W 380 ez with an Urban Carry iwb at roughly the 4:30 position and find this quite comfortable for walking, driving, or sitting for extended periods. You hit the important point that each person has to come up with the position that works best for them. Many people like the appendix carry position, I can’t stand it because the barrel pokes me in the gut however I’m am positioned. Others find it extremely comfortable. It all depends on your individual situation. Good job on the video. Keep up the good work.
Me too since around 2000. Everyone discourages it, but it’s one way you can carry no matter what the dress and usually can carry up to a Shield with flush mag (or Glock 43-not X, or J frame, or many mini 9’s or .380s).
@@nomad155 340PD in the cold months in a jacket pocket & LCP otherwise, front pocket in a pocket holster. I always have one reload, speedstrip or spare mag.
@@oldcop18 I do pocket as well because I can stand casually with my hand on it and when I pull the laser is on automatically (Sig P238). Yet, it tends to snag so my other hand may be required if I haven’t pulled it partially while standing ‘casually’. BUT, where I’m most obligated, as part of our team, requires me seated most of the time. Even with cargo style pants, it’s in the upper pocket to keep from printing and bulging the cargo pocket. I’m searching for something that is discrete (since discretion is tantamount) and yet when observing a possible threat, that I can casually begin my migration to a more ‘responsive’ position while still seated. Finding that difficult with my present combination. So, his description of the minimalist cross draw may seem to be a possibility as well as the comments using the belt pouch…but that one seems less than discrete…unless feigning a back injury…. Good to know that someone with experience beyond mine considers pocket as viable. Thanks for your input. Be safe!
After considering this topic for myself, went with the cross draw. the main reason was "telegraphing". In my fighting days, elbow or shoulder twitch was a bad give away. I found that I could smoothly draw without telegraphing. I could also raise the shirt to clear the draw with a flick of my thumb rather than being forced to use both hands to clear and present.
Interesting perspective. I’m new to all this (will be getting my first gun in the next few weeks) - so it’s good to hear the different opinions. You described this so well that I could completely visualize this. And yeah, I’m not going to immediately become a Concealed Carry guy… many hours ahead of me learning, trainging, and practicing before I’’ll start doing that.
@I'm just trolling you. Funny you say this. I started carrying the other day and while I'm still "new" at this, I too am not chambered. Just to be safe until I'm ready. Mag is loaded and safety is on, but still working things out. I'm having trouble getting past my belt with my hand. Need more practice. Then more after. Good luck, hope you've made progress.
Where & How I carry depends on environment. IWB Always! If not doing active things I like my Sig M-18 in Appendix carry but in "Must Conceal" situations my weapon is a Hellcat at 3:30 to 4:00. I'm also a fanatic about always having a Manual Safety no matter what weapon I carry due to a Bad experience with a trigger safety (Glock) a long time back!
I have long arms in relation to my torso, so strong side is difficult for a fast draw. I use a cross draw. Just ordered a sticky holster to try for better concealment while wearing a t-shirt.
Clips are a poor choice. Primarily, because nothing is protecting the trigger area of your gun. I work for a company that makes kydex holsters, but for your own sake, and everyone around you, please use ANY style/brand holster that adequately protects the trigger area.
@@thorman944 Thanks for your advice. The LCP has a loooong trigger pull. You have to really mean it to fire this gun. Been using the clip for many years. My Glock 17C however has a kydex holster., but is very hard to conceal.
How does it not make sense? Left or right handed, if the direction you are facing is 12 o'clock', and you go around your body in a CLOCKwise direction, then your right hip is 3 o-'CLOCK, 5 o'CLOCK is back right, 7 o'CLOCK is what would be the back left kidney, 9 o'CLOCK would be the left hip. It's been my experience that, "It doesn't make sense.", is something that only comes out of the mouths of left handed people. Even if someone is left handed, CLOCKWISE means the same.
@@codyalt5871 Right! Or it's a left brain thing. I don't know. I know that left handed people make up only 15% of the population and 85% of the population has no problem with "o'clock" positions assigned to one's body or position in space and time.
Full size 1911 @230 with DiSantis leather OWB. I'm 5'9", 155 pounds, 32/30 and don't really want other pant sizes to allow for IWB carry. I'm much more comfortable with OWB and have no trouble concealing.
I wear a multi-pocket travel vest, and just drop my 38 snubbie in a pocket holster into one of the zippered pockets of the vest. Very secure and very comfortable standing and sitting. I carry spare ammo in another pocket.
I carry in an Alien Gear OWB at 3 o’clock, set up for FBI forward cant. I’m in a wheelchair with side panels, so I could conceal a howitzer if I wanted.
Cool to see a Taurus Curve in the thumbnail. I've put 700 rounds through mine without a single misfeed. Overall it's been a fantastic pocket carry pistol. Cheers from Kentucky!
Personally I prefer kydex strong side carry. I carry a Taurus G3c forward of my hip but not appendix. I train at the range drawing for different carry positions always strong side so in different dress I'm set for a defensive draw if I need to.
Strong side 4 O'clock if I have a cover garment, if I am in a T shirt it's IWB. Mitch Rosen premiere is by far my favorite as it manages the weight of my 1911 very well. I carry a 5" all steel custom I built years ago.
Appreciate the video I just recently got my concealed carry license. I want to make sure I am using my new holster safely and effectively really had no idea where I was going to put it my first got it in the mail.
Thank you for this useful info, never conceal carried before and am just starting to work on incorporating firearms into my life. This was very useful and clarifying for a noobie like me 👍
I always carry my Springfield 911 (380) front right pants(shorts) pocket in a pocket holster. I also like if im in an area were I feel very unsecure my hands can be in my pockets all ready "ready" to go.
I carry the same thing year round, everywhere I go. My FNX 45 Tactical with a 5.3 inch threaded barrel, suppressor height sights, Trigicon RMR & double stack 15 round magazine, in the AIWB position, and TWO extra 15 round magazines. Along with a carry knife & Leatherman multi-tool. I've never had ANY problems with either concealment OR comfort.
Happy you have found something that works for you! What belt did you choose for daily carry? With a larger sized handgun like that, having a good sturdy belt becomes very important.
@@USCCAOfficial You're absolutely correct about the belt. I choose the Kore Essentials Tactical belt because I didn't think their "dressier version" would hold up. I really like the tactile version though. It holds my 45 Tactical, 2 extra 15 round magazines, and a Leatherman multi-tool with ZERO sag!
I carry OWB strong side. It’s comfortable for my body type. My state is open carry. I’ll get my concealed soon. But for now OWB allows me to still carry in the meantime.
Your state allows for you to carry open carry with no permit but to conceal it you need a permit? I was under the impression to carry openly you still need ccw permit, that may just be my state.
@@ShaneChilly I’m glad you commented. (Sorry this is so long). I’m in NC. You don’t need a permit to openly carry. In order to purchase a gun in NC however, you need what is called a “purchase permit.” To get that, you have to go to the Sheriff’s department and apply for the purchase permit for $5. You can apply for 3 or 4permits (I think)... (at $5 each) under one name and that will allow you to purchase 3 guns. The Sheriff’s department will do the background check and when it’s done, you go back and pick up your purchase permit and go pick up your gun from the store. You can then openly carry. Period. To get your concealed permit, it’s $90 and you gotta take a class and all that. Since I can openly carry, I do. No need to pay $90. I could even have a gun “given” or “gifted” to me, and I can openly carry it here without a background check. Or if I lived in another state, purchased my gun legally there, then visited NC or moved to NC, I could openly carry that gun here. If you came here to visit, you can openly carry while here. Annnnd also, in NC, 76 of the 100 counties are 2A sanctuary counties. So if there were ever a law to take away guns or restrict our rights, those laws can’t be unforced in those counties. I foresee us becoming a full on 2A Sanctuary state soon.
I carry my P365 in a Sticky pocket holster. it's hot here in Florida so it's way more comfortable than waistband carry. The only downside is that it's tricky to re-holster.
Carry where your comfortable. I do appendix carry. I know exactly where it is, easy to get to. Left hand lifts shirt right hand grabs the gun. I also use a sticky INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE. Forehead is definitely a great weapon.
James Renshaw - you serve on the USS Midway in the '60's? If that was you I can see your face like it was yesterday. Oh yeah, I too carry "appendix" with a soft side HOUSTON holster. Hardly know it's there. -Sam Garland.

I use these and they're comfortable for ccw: 1. Kore Essentials gun belt 2. High Speed Gear IWB subcompact soft holster 3. Generic soft mag pouch And of course, 4. Sig P365 custom mod by Zev Technologies
Thanks. Maybe you could do a video with two or three other guys of different body structures and see which toasters they like best inside and outside holsters.
I wear basketball shorts 98% of the time. Pocket carry works great with a pocket holster. Something like a 380 Taurus Spectrum and you can easily forget it's even in there. A SCCY 9mm is more noticeable but at 15 OZ is still very comfortable. Sitting down in a car sometimes the holster will slide back so you just need to guide it as you're sitting down to prevent that. I can comfortably pocket carry a 40 S&W M&PC also. You always know it's there, but it's comfortable. I can do a 3 mile walk with it no problem also.
@@USCCAOfficial For the SCCY I have what's called an orGUNizer made by Garrison Grip. Works great. The Taurus Spectrum I use an Ace Case nylon holster. The M&P I use an OUTBAGS nylon holster. Got all of them on EBAY.
IWB 7 to 8 o'clock weak side hip. In a left-hand IWB holster. This facilitates an easy draw for my weak left hand, while also allowing my strong right hand to draw enabling me to have a comfortable ambidextrous option should one hand become either incapacitated or not convenient for whatever reason at the moment of need.
You should show each carry position with your body in different positions (seated, kneeling, from the back/front,etc.) to show how much each carry position prints under clothing and any accommodations you may need to make for each position (how to dress, etc.).
Make sure if you practice positioning and drawing from your weapon is to ensure that it is not loaded. Recommend it to put an empty magazine to get the full feeling of the size of the gun but do not put any bullets in the magazine or especially in the chamber if you are new at doing so.
I carry a full sized Beretta PX4 in an alien gear IWB. I carry strong side between the point of my hip and what right handers call 4 o'clock. ( think three thirty)
Appendix all day. I even have a little belly, so holster is super important. I suggest buying a crossbreed reckoning and add a claw to it. Best holster I've ever owned.
I got a pocket holster I carry mine in. I often carry my cigarettes in my left pocket but when I'm toting I carry them in a hidden pocket so I can conceal my weapon in my left instead. The bulge in my pocket is that equal to if I have my smokes in it
I’m a 4 o’clock carrier myself + it’s really comfortable for my 6 foot 170 pound frame, I tried appendix, I don’t like it and it hurts especially when I’m getting in/out of a car, and I use my Kydex black scorpion holster which I love and they protect my trigger guard also... I love your videos I’m new to this channel... Live from Chicago
As I bigger fella, IWB @ 4 - 430 has been useful for me over the years, I'm still skeptical to carry appendix.... even though I have trained, I just can't seem to get the "Cheddar Bob" style to be comfortable, even with a sub compact
@@ryanbrown938 I appendix carry a full size ruger and the only thing ive had to do is wearing my pants a little higher to avoid any contact with the jewels 😂 I can wear shorts with no underwear and a t shirt and not have any printing.
Strong side. Sits around 8 o’clock, IWB. Hoodie season sometimes I’ll go OWB. I tried appendix. Standing it’s fine. Once I sit it’s awkward as all get out.
Nice demo of iwb carry. My like of concealed carry is the 4 o’clock position, easy access to pull and comfortable for self-defense, with a ccw permit as possible. Long parka jacket or loose polo shirt minimize printing. Cross-draw carry is ok too, sabata style, Lee Van Cleef owb long wrangler .45 colt.
Great video! I alternate what I carry depending on the season. During the winter I carry a PPQ M2 owb in a Vedder paddle holster strong side between 3-4. Quick and easy on / off. Easy to conceal and draw wearing a heavy jacket, windbreaker, hoodie, etc... During the mid spring and summer I carry a P365 in a Tier 1 appendix rig. Highly concealed, easy to draw. Works out very well for me.
I like to carry at 1:13 except when I'm driving I go to 12:57. If I'm shopping however I typically adjust to 2:20 or 2:21, whatever it takes. One time I carried at a quarter of 9, and then slowly adjusted to 10:28:20. Huge improvement. JK! Seriously, great food for thought. I IWB kidney carry and notice that it's much more comfortable when I'm not up a few pounds and trying to wear pants that are just two tight. Proper clothing makes a huge difference on whether you can tolerate a full day carry. I now dress to carry rather than trying to match my carry to my clothing.
I like the sticky holster except for reholstering. My strong side shoulder has very limited range with upward motion so I carry in cross draw and at times draw with "weak" side and transition. Takes time but my fast draw has been a thing of the past for some time. I use a shoulder rig when clothing allows. Something I have found very little of online is carry for those with limitations. Would love to see that from someone with more experience, please.
I'm 6'3 255lbs and have a Dunlop. I carry AIWB only and have done so for years and years now. I use a minimalist single clip kydex holster from vedder. appendix Carrie gives me better situational awareness and more control of my firearm under most circumstances. even is a big guy you just keep it tucked between Dunlop and a loose- or flexible 1.5 belt buffalo leather or something similar. never been spotted as a armed man never had any issues with draw and my pp is still alive.
I love my Concealed Carry Outfitters vest. At a restaurant a lady complemented my "well dressed" look, saying men just do not dress up now. I thanked her and thought, I wonder what she would say if she knew what my vest is really for. We were on vacation and I was in a very liberal state with strict gun laws.
VOTE: What is your favorite carry position?
IWB cross-draw
I carry mine on my side inside my beltline. And I find it very easy to get to. I'm 65 years old and have been carrying a gun my whole life. And thank God I have never had to use it so far
I got a pocket holster for my p365. While I know it's a longer draw time, it's far more comfortable for long drives or sitting. If I need to, I keep an IWB holster in my car that I usually use at the 4 o'clock position.
Appendix all the way. But I am skinny so it works well for me
Urban Carry has been a great carry system for me for many years.
“It’s not supposed to be comfortable. It’s supposed to be comforting.”
Truer words.
Ayyyyy true

So right in front of the hip on the strong side?
@@keyosh1152 yes. Best all around for draw and defending against disarming.

Excellent points. You just changed my mind about appendix carry.
Had a grandpa shoot himself in the leg. He carried appendix

I have bought holsters for all positions, inside and out. My holster/position choice based on activities and clothing. My favorite carry position is strong side, 3 O’Clock, outside.
Happy you found something that works for you!
I'd like to carry at 3:00 but I'm 6' 185 lbs and that position Kills my hipbone.
IWB. I'm a 'senior', righthanded, and I prefer around 9/10 oclock crossdraw for easier access, particularly seated.
Appendix carry for summer weather and short sleeve shirts. 3 o' clock for fall and winter jacket weather.
Good video!
I'm not fat and tried appendix carry but it was foreign. I carry at 3 o'clock for duty and carried concealed for 10 years at 3 o'clock.
What do you do when you kneel down or bend over and it prints?

i use Alienware holsters IWB for my EDC which is now a Shield Plus.
Glad that you found a comfortable way to carry! Do you carry often?
Appendix carry doesn't work for me. I don't have an appendix.
I am a USCCA Member. I use cross draw and shoulder and right hip IWB holsters exclusively! More concealable, easyer and faster to get to!
As a woman it’s hard to find jeans that fit aren’t super high and cutting me in half at the belly button. But having a concealed carry mini cross body backpack with a cc pocket has been a god send. I am increasingly becoming a fan of pocket carry in the summer with shorts. I have found myself not even taking my gun off when I am at home as I can barely tell its there. Sig P365X with Kydex trigger holster tied to the belt.
I carry IWB appendix at about 2 O’Clock about in-line with my right front pocket. Works great for me.
Thank you for the reply and advice about OWB location! This is some valuable information for anyone considering OWB carry.

I’m with you on the swapping lol. I’ve got one revolver and 6 holsters
I’ve pocket carried, w/a pocket holster, everyday since my ‘97 retirement. It’s just what works best for me.
What you carry old timer?
Me too since around 2000. Everyone discourages it, but it’s one way you can carry no matter what the dress and usually can carry up to a Shield with flush mag (or Glock 43-not X, or J frame, or many mini 9’s or .380s).
@@nomad155 340PD in the cold months in a jacket pocket & LCP otherwise, front pocket in a pocket holster. I always have one reload, speedstrip or spare mag.
I agree it's the best way to carry simple easy to draw without having to pull your shirt out .
Be safe!
I find on the hip and just slightly back, so about 3:30 I guess you would say, works best for me - I carry a PMR30.
I use a Clip Draw on a Ruger LCP, clipped to the RH pocket of my jeans. OR clipped to my belt, with the barrel in the watch pocket Love it
Clips are a poor choice. Primarily, because nothing is protecting the trigger area of your gun. I work for a company that makes kydex holsters, but for your own sake, and everyone around you, please use ANY style/brand holster that adequately protects the trigger area.

Finally! Someone understands how 4 o'clock as a term doesnt make sense! Subbed
Welcome to the USCCA family! 🇺🇸
4 o’clock makes perfect sense... you just need a left handed clock to go with it!
@@nelsonmercer9783 they aren’t standing on the center of a clock that’s why lol

Absolutly love my Sticky Holster!!! Carry at 4:00, both comfortable and comforting!!!
IWB 3 o’clock here. Comfortable, accessible, and the weapon isn’t pointed directly at my body all day long.
My opinion
Same
I carry the same thing year round, everywhere I go.
I open carry here in Washington State which is more comfortable to me anyway.
I carry strong side OWB slightly foreward. I use a torsion holster and it fits my hip bones.
I carry my P365 in a Sticky pocket holster. it's hot here in Florida so it's way more comfortable than waistband carry. The only downside is that it's tricky to re-holster.
and sometimes the holster comes out still on the gun .not cool
Carry where your comfortable. I do appendix carry. I know exactly where it is, easy to get to. Left hand lifts shirt right hand grabs the gun. I also use a sticky INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE. Forehead is definitely a great weapon.
Appendix carry for me is really comfortable.
James Renshaw - you serve on the USS Midway in the '60's? If that was you I can see your face like it was yesterday.
Oh yeah, I too carry "appendix" with a soft side HOUSTON holster. Hardly know it's there.
-Sam Garland.

I have a little bit of a gut so I go with behind the hip. I also hate having a gun pointed towards my manhood lol. Its just scary to me
@@jimyowell850 You are 6'5" or lying.
@@SailorSam41 Check out together we served to find old shipmates.
I use these and they're comfortable for ccw:
1. Kore Essentials gun belt
2. High Speed Gear IWB subcompact soft holster
3. Generic soft mag pouch
And of course,
4. Sig P365 custom mod by Zev Technologies
Thanks. Maybe you could do a video with two or three other guys of different body structures and see which toasters they like best inside and outside holsters.
Best instruction I have seen on concealed carry.
What holster do you use for pocket carry?
I don’t see how people drive or sit carrying appendix IWB. Enjoyed the video.
Make sure if you practice positioning and drawing from your weapon is to ensure that it is not loaded. Recommend it to put an empty magazine to get the full feeling of the size of the gun but do not put any bullets in the magazine or especially in the chamber if you are new at doing so.
Safe dry fire training is critical! Do you use snap caps when you dry fire?
I carry appendix with springfield hellcat RDP. holster and gun are comfortable never had any issues sitting or standing
I like carrying 2 o'clock either iwb or owb, depending on weather. Btw, that N8Square also works very well aiwb.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Appendix hurts my 6 foot 175 pound frame, 4 or 4:30 works perfect for me + It’s comfortable
I'm a big girl so printing is an issue... But I tend to appendix carry when wearing something concealing.
Am also a big girl, and my favorite position is appendix carry.
Im skinny and printing is still a huge issue. smaller shirts that dont really sag at all make it impossible. gonna have to get some looser shirts
Strong side. Sits around 8 o’clock, IWB. Hoodie season sometimes I’ll go OWB. I tried appendix. Standing it’s fine. Once I sit it’s awkward as all get out.
Strong side is the most comfortable for me ...
What do you wear for conealment grent during the summer?
IWB Appendix--proteq custom gear is the best holsters, in my opinion, I carry all day 12-16 hours. Very Very comfortable
Being an in shape dude that likes to not wear baggy clothing sure makes it difficult to conceal lmao
💯💯💯
I feel you on that
For real I can’t seem to find an outfit that doesn’t show the printing of my firearm.
100% I was looking around UA-cam for tips on better concealing when you don’t have a belly.
@@jayobrok4502 seems like either sub compact or a micro but who the hell wants to carry a purse pistol lol
