The only thing that can happen for carrying in a "gun free zone" (so long as it isn't a federal building like a post office or court house) is a trespassing charge.
From what I know (check your listings as well, i could be wrong) 1. Most of the time, No. Armed citizens are not required to stop a deadly threat, avoiding the fight is always the better outcome ESPECIALLY if you live in a Duty to Retreat state or a state that doesn’t have an explicit Castle law. 2. Yes. Prosecutors are ruthless, they will absolutely try to charge you with anything even if you defended yourself lawfully. In most states, a “No weapons allowed” sign is not legally binding unless it's a place that legally prohibits the use of weapons for citizens (examples include but not limited to: Post Offices, Schools, Courthouses, and Federal Buildings). Again, check your local listings, stay aware, and stay safe.
Question 2 was addressed in my CCW class in Virginia. Those “no firearms” signs mean very little and aren’t actually a law. UNLESS you are on federal grounds. Like post office, courtrooms, schools also fall into this category. Lets Say the mall has a no firearm sign and you’re caught with one on you somehow. The most they can do is get you with trespassing. Please please read the rules of the law thoroughly for your states laws.

And in most places pets are property. So you have to know your property laws. To the law chances are they will consider the guy that kicked your dog equivalent to kicking the tires of your car. Learn at what point you can defend your property….. Castle doctrines also vary wildly based on where you live
My neighbor pulled a gun on our other neighbor because he claimed he was being threatened by neighbors B. He was arrested and jailed for 2 weeks and was required to appear in court. By the time the court date rolled around, the neighbor with the gun got an aggressive cancer and died. By the way, his mother died 2 weeks later, to the day and time.
Know the law....know how to use firearms safely.....and do not draw your firearm unless you are in imminent danger of death or serious injury.....and use your brain not your emotions. And don't think it is your job to "be" a police officer WHEN YOU ARE NOT.
Thank you USCCA, I love the knowledge that Tom brings to the table. That brings the question as what will USCCA do for me? I'm at a point that I don't ever want to put myself in jeopardy. We the people have the God given right to protect our lives and the lives of others. The DOJ and the lawyers have made a career by playing both sides. When people are jailed for expressing that right, something is wrong.
Yeah I lost all my guns in a tragic boating accident in international waters therfore they arnt really lost they just don't exist under rule of law anymore because it happened while in international waters so I can't remember a thing oddly.
So pursuing an active shooter even though you're not directly In Harm's Way with the intent too take them out and or do take them out would be considered against the law?
Look at your state laws. Some states say if someone else is in immediate danger of great bodily harm or death you can interfere. The blue states will usually lock your ass up for trying to save someone
Depends. If they just fired at multiple people and a reasonable person would believe they have no intention of stopping, (say because they are headed towards a classroom with kids with a firearm still raised in front of them) then you’re possibly okay. But honestly, even then it might depend on your state, so it’s important to know. Sad truth is it seems like most states (and gov) would rather see collateral damage than have to air the positive defensive use of a firearm on the news. Keep in mind that you never intend to take them out, you’re only ever trying to stop an imminent threat.
Very interesting and informative information things to know after watching this i understand why people go to jail..as a registered gun owner these are definitely things I'm going to think about before any action is taken by me
Check this scenario out, what if your walk home late at night down a dark street and 2 guys are coming towards you and one stops and ask you a question and in the middle of your answer proceeds to pull a gun and starts robbing you. I understand the concept of not “jumping the gun” but what would the law suggest I do in that situation??
It is important to deescalate the situation if possible and only present deadly force when your life is possibly about to be taken. Much restraint has to be exercised in order to put the firearm away once the threat has passed. Besides, if you chase the bad guy off your property, they could have armed buddies waiting for you.
I have a question. If a verbal altercation happens between you and a bigger/stronger guy.. let's say a muscular body builder, or someone you know for sure would overpower you and take your gun from you. If you try backing off from them and they come at you unarmed, and you have a feeling they know you have a concealed weapon and intend to get it from you to harm you with it. Are you justified to shoot them in protection of he weapon?
I witnessed an attempted murder (stabbing) a couple weeks ago between two guys I don’t know in a parking lot. I didn’t see how it started, but the victim was yelling out that the other guy had stabbed him and I could see that he had been badly stabbed in the neck. Luckily I had just passed by two officers around the previous corner and went and got them. I’ve been wondering since what i could’ve legally done if I had been carrying with a CCW. FYI, I’m in Commiefornia. I’m going to use this situation to try to get my CCW permit. I was one of two witnesses and the perpetrator is a resident of my same city. Edit: I should mention they were still combating when I saw them and went to get the officers.
I would say as a general rule that unless you or a family member are in immediate danger, you do not engage. You did the best you could by immediately alerting officers. You're not a cop, it's not your job to draw down and hold someone until the police get there. Call 911, render first aid assistance if you have training after the scene is clear, otherwise stay away. It's too dangerous otherwise.
Best if you ccw is to only protect your family and friends. If you go and do a "Rambo" and help strangers most likely you will be thrown in prison for a very long time. Best to mind your own business.
How do police get by with shooting a suspect with 17 rounds. Along with there being 4 cops that all 4 empty the Firearm into the suspect. Should they be charged ?
USCCA really should be teaching: don't defend third parties that aren't dear to you. It's not worth it unless laws change significantly. Just walk away.
when it comes to pursuing the bad guy.... If I don't get the bad guy and they go to hurt somebody else or cause some other mayhem i have to live with that. 🤔
When being asked guilt seeking questions. Ask the questions back to them. “What would you have done as a police officer if someone aimed a gun at your face? Would you have asked him to back off multiple times? Would you wait for them to directly tell you they’re going to kill you?”
He is in his right per the law, and per the law you are not on your right !! Did you get that ?? 😂😂😂😂😂 CRIMINALS ARE RIGHT AND IF YOU A GOOD CIVILIAN YOU ARE NOT !! I’m fkng selling my guns at this point It can lead me to huge and unnecessary problems
Always wondered why the legal systen got so AFU. for example, someone does something to you, cops often dont want to get involved, but if you retaliate, they do. Someone steals something from you, you know where its located, they willvdo nothing to help you retrieve it, unless it's in plain sight, then, no arrest, just return. Call cops, yhey start invearigating you, running wants and warrants, ON YOU.
I have my life threatened regularly by people in CARS,in crosswalks and even on the sidewalk crossing driveways . WHY is this not treated for what it is assault with a deadly weapon?
Someone needs to teach law enforcement what you’re talking about! Or is there a difference between law enforcement protecting themselves and a citizen protecting themselves?! I see law enforcement getting away with murder all the time!
I totally agree with you Daniel. Law enforcement is no long a service to a community. (in spite of what it says on their patrol cars.) Law enforcement has been weaponized. They are there to protect their government overlords. SCOTUS declared decades ago that law enforcement HAS NO DUTY to the community. Think about that. They are NOT there to "Protect and Serve" us.
@ The difference is a cop get their buddies to investigate, the law enforcement has a Union for The Thin Blue Line and then the final layer is Qualified Immunity! The citizens have nothing!!! I believe you can see clearly the cards are stacked against citizens! If not, you have a problem, not me!
a guy is able to break into your house walking backward (back facing you the entire time) stealing everything in sight and you're not allow to use "self defense" defense since he doesn't post a threat to you?
I see videos of cops dumping full mags into people that have a knife or a gun all the time and I've even seen videos where they've shot almost a full mag the person goes down but the gun or knife is still in their hand they're yelling for them to toss it and they will make a movement and they finish off their magazine but I guess that's the difference between having judicial immunity and being a civilian
Ya anyone can judge when there not in the negative situation How many shots Where you shot Angry Adrenalin timing people around location The bad guys doesn’t care about any of this And cost money in court freedom is not free However yes walk away live another day Don’t deal or go places with negative people No ego
Let me help yall out. After a shooting, your only statement to police should be giving your basic information required for their report and the statement "I was in fear for my life" or "I was in fear for (insert other party here) life". Thats all. Dont say another word. If they want to take you for questioning, ask if you are being charged or detained, if the answer is yes then excercise your 5th amendment and stay silent. if they say no, then get their card or report number and go home. Odds are your gun will be taken as part of their investigation, so make sure you got the report number to follow up on to get your gun back when the case is closed.
Is this the society we want? Like when that woman was r**** on the train, and no one did anything to help her? Obviously cops aren't everywhere, and not everyone can be, or should act like a cop, but the law needs to have some middle ground. Especially when people then get shamed for the bystander effect.

Is he still in jail ?
NEVER FORGET ABOUT THE 5TH. The best advice in a self-defense scenario is to remain silent until your lawyer arrives
At 7:00 the cops are not your friends; their mission is to make arrests. This is why I don't own any guns.
Yeah I lost all my guns in a tragic boating accident in international waters therfore they arnt really lost they just don't exist under rule of law anymore because it happened while in international waters so I can't remember a thing oddly.
Great reminders.
Good information video👌🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you for watching!
Acting like you're a cop because you're armed is usually stepping out of bounds. There's always exceptions, but who trains for those?
Do you think that the police are adequately trained?
Government protected by instant capital punishment, but not THE PEOPLE?
Know when to start and stop defending yourself or others it’s extremely important and it’s a very think line between.
Very interesting and informative information things to know after watching this i understand why people go to jail..as a registered gun owner these are definitely things I'm going to think about before any action is taken by me
We open carry in Tennessee.
THIS is why I subscribe.
Thanks for your support Will!
Thanks for these important information. I’m a USCCA member!
Thank you for your support and for being part of the USCCA family Boe!
I will not try to make a citizens arrest.
Best if you ccw is to only protect your family and friends. If you go and do a "Rambo" and help strangers most likely you will be thrown in prison for a very long time. Best to mind your own business.
What if an officer is assaulted or shot in your presence and youre carrying. Do you assist or protect?
How do police get by with shooting a suspect with 17 rounds. Along with there being 4 cops that all 4 empty the Firearm into the suspect.
Should they be charged ?
USCCA really should be teaching: don't defend third parties that aren't dear to you. It's not worth it unless laws change significantly. Just walk away.
What about the civil sphere? Even if you are found not guilty in a criminal court, can the family of the “victim” still sue you for damages?
What about UNLAWFUL force by a LEO? Can I defend myself with force? #tyrenicoles
Reasonable prosecutors? An endangered species.
When they got you doing sorry ass drills you gotta show em who him😭🤣
Self defense on another person can cost you big bucks.
2:03 Why is police officers justified for shooting somebody 15 times then?
Great information
Thanks for your support!
Very helpful video
Good talk
What do you do if you spent the night drinking go to bed and the armed robber kicks the door in an hour later? 😂
Good information
Thank you for watching!
Never talk to the cops ask for you lawyer and tell do what they gotta do u not answering no questions
Tom, one more point, does caliber used play a role?
when it comes to pursuing the bad guy....
Very informative and helpful 👍🏼
Thank you for your support!
7:05 thats why they don't answer cops questions
What if we see a guy trying to kidnapp a young child or beating on a woman or child?
Dude you can't just shoot someone that honked at you for walking slow in a crosswalk
(in spite of what it says on their patrol cars.)
Law enforcement has been weaponized. They are there to protect their government overlords.
SCOTUS declared decades ago that law enforcement HAS NO DUTY to the community.
Think about that. They are NOT there to "Protect and Serve" us.
They have qualified immunity … the everyone else doesn’t
Yes, there is a difference.
@ The difference is a cop get their buddies to investigate, the law enforcement has a Union for The Thin Blue Line and then the final layer is Qualified Immunity! The citizens have nothing!!! I believe you can see clearly the cards are stacked against citizens! If not, you have a problem, not me!
When do citizens get qualified immunity
When you're a millionaire or wealthier, unfortunately.
Never unless you are a huge politician.
a guy is able to break into your house walking backward (back facing you the entire time) stealing everything in sight and you're not allow to use "self defense" defense since he doesn't post a threat to you?
I see videos of cops dumping full mags into people that have a knife or a gun all the time and I've even seen videos where they've shot almost a full mag the person goes down but the gun or knife is still in their hand they're yelling for them to toss it and they will make a movement and they finish off their magazine but I guess that's the difference between having judicial immunity and being a civilian
SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT!
Of course. It has always been that way.
If they turn away but they are still holding the gun?
How does this concept stack up against the trend of a dozen cops filling a guy with wth all the rounds-in their possession.
so basically what i'm hearing is plead the 5th until i get a lawyer. nice 👍
The whole judicial system is broken
What should I do if someone is trying to rob my motorcycle and started to chase me and reaching in his pocket ?
Ya anyone can judge when there not in the negative situation
How many shots
Where you shot
Angry Adrenalin timing people around location
The bad guys doesn’t care about any of this
And cost money in court freedom is not free
However yes walk away live another day
Don’t deal or go places with negative people
No ego
Laws are for law abiding citizens not criminals
We get the society we want. Voting is how we control the government
Do you have to remember is nobody no crime
They are going to have to catch me first
What if your always waiting 24/7
I sense a good business opportunity of low profile body mounted camera to record 24/7 like a dashcam for human.
So if i smoke a week ago and have to discharge my firearm they can challenge me for that?
that's why you carry a small revolver so you can flee the scene and leave no evidence
smart no cases to pick up
Oh right, because security cameras dont exist, bozo
