What’s the grease called thermal grease or dielectric grease
Would this be a probable solution to a p1361 code for a Service Engine light on my truck?
Yes, could cause low spark or engine to not even start.
I have a 99 tahoe 5.7. Sitting at red light truck shut off. Have no spark not even coming out of coil. Could it be a bad module ??? How to test prior to replacing ???
Hopefully you got it figured out & yes your ICM could be bad causing no spark, to it could also be crankshaft position sensor not sending the ecm the right signals to fire, easy way to test it take it to you local auto store if you don't a ohm met
@@DADDYGVILLESWORLD haven’t messed with it honestly thinking of junking it. I got my moneys worth out of the ol girl. Had her 6 yrs. N paid a $1,000 for it
@@DirtbikeDad had mine 7 yrs it was my daily drivers/work horse for 2 yrs, started having issues left & right mostly with wiring from the previous owner rigging stuff, so turned it into a project truck an make videos on it, ain't no getting rid of it for me got 15k in it now.

Did you replace the module or just clean it all up and reinstall it?
Good eye, actually I ordered both the ignition coil & ICM at the same time, but the coil showed up first so I filmed both videos in on job, so yes I cleaned the old one up for the video, the next day the brand new one showed up an I put it on.
@@DADDYGVILLESWORLD neighbor has a similar issue, his will run with starting fluid but without it nothing. I used my fuel pressure tester and he has 60psi on the rail and with the key off it doesn’t bleed down so I’d say it’s good. Only other thing I can think of is the ICM or the actual injectors and it’s base that feeds it all. I suggested pulling the upper intake and removing the fuel injectors and turning it over and see if any of them are pulsing
Thermal grease! Will dielectric grease work just fine ?or food grade grease ?
97 Chevrolet Silverado 1505.7 driving along engine. Just shuts off engine spinning but won't start up
That sounds more like a fuel issue, these old 5.7 has to have 55lbs of fuel pressure at all times to start & run, i actually just delt with this same issues, was driving just fine pulled into the neighborhood I live in and it shut off, my truck would turn over, but would not start, a neighbor helped get my truck home by pushing it with their suv, check my fuel pressure which was less then 20lbs, knew it wasn't my fuel filter cause it was new, so I checked my fuel pump screen was dirty, so i just went ahead and changed it along with the pump it fixed my issue & will start right up now.
