@DADDYGVILLE'S WORLD my 5.7 is throwing a fit. I had a brand new Jasper 5.7 dropped in it in 2009 I had the upgrades, the Stallite engine, with all valves and piston upgrades, I just now have 80 thousand easy highway miles on it. I had a shop here drop a new distributor in it. I just installed all new exhaust with 16" tips and 2 catalytic converters put in it last week. Did a super flush on the engine coolant a month ago. After this shop dropped a new distributer in it started throwing a bunch of codes, random misfire and mass air flo and catalytic converter codes, so, I replaced the exhaust. Converters. And installed a brand new ignition coil with a connected coil sensor and a crankshaft position sensor, and a throttle position sensor, it has 2 brand new die hard batteries, because I run 2 batteries in my truck, I has all the codes erased and so far they haven't come back on. BUT" it sounds a bit rough when I run down the road in it. Like, something with the distributor is not right, it's a brand new distributor with a camshaft sensor with it, I'm not sure, but, I think the timing was set too high , because the guy that installed that said he had to advance the timing quit a bit. The only other thing I can think of, is the EGR valve, it's the original part . So I'll replace that, but, what's your opinion about the distributor and him advancing the timing Hugh like that? I don't have a scan tool so I'll have to take it to another shop to check it. But, I also just replaced the plugs and wires with double platinum plugs and new wires and I still don't like the sound I'm getting when I'm driving. It's sounds great when it idles but once I'm running down the road it's sound like a bad set up on the plugs and wires as well as the distributor he adjusted. Thanks for your input man. I've also ordered a brnd new ECM which I will install next week when it gets here. They areoading the codes right now and checking the operation of the ECM before they send it. Thanks man.
@@SammLloy481 Wow sounds like myself with replacing everything, makes my wife mad that ive got 15k in a 25yo truck an still not done, honestly i dont take my cars to any shops i do all the repairs myself, dont film them all filming just add another hour or 2 to the job, my wife got tired of waiting on me cause i had other paying projects to get done an she took her suv to a shop, it came back all messed up i dont know what they did to mess it up so bad, never ever had a dash light on since we owned it an i did the work, now her dash looks like a Christmas tree, its a daily driver so can only work on it when shes not at work, but yeah sounds like theres something going on with the distributor & cam, without it being right in front of me i couldnt be full 100 but that what it sounds like, ill share this around in some of the groups im in as well as some other yters who also do these these of vid an see what i can find out.

You're welcome, I just used some cheap Walmart silver paint I had left over from another project, I used 80g & 120g just to get the rust off to paint it, filming it takes me 3 times longer to do the job then the job it's self, I do my best to film & show the whole process while explaining it, for myself you can explain something to me all day but I'm a visual learner, so that's how I make my video's, thank you for your time watching & commenting, please consider subscribing if you haven't already, more 88-98 obs vids in DaddyGville's Garage folder

My 99 k1500 when pulling a long hill blinks check engine light and loses power. Already changed fuel pump, plugs and wires. Could ecm and coil be my problem? Thanks

Hi, please help. My truck only starts when spraying starting fluid but chokes out when mashing on throttle. It runs perfectly on idle, but as soon as i give it fuel, she chokes out badly. I have changed the fule pump,the cap and rotter,wires and plugs, and plunger valve. Also, mass air flow.
Only thing left is fuel modulator
Getting a P0300 multiple misfire code. Changed plugs and still missing. Could it be the coil?

Can a bad ignition coil cause truck to start up an run good an not misfire but once it gets warm itll stall an then it'll start back but die immediately but I you let in cool down it'll start fine?what part do you recommend replacing?
My 96 k2500 5.7 did this a week ago and just found out 5 minutes ago what it was, took me a while to see what video this comment was on but it turned out to be the crank position sensor
@DavidL_DtX yupp ima have to check the crank sensor cuz I had replaced a year ago but know the truck starts but dies at idle could the fuel pump too but ig I'll find out thanks bro!
I replaced the cps in December and now again today, now it works fine, this is the first time it's had these symptoms though, hope it helps.

Great video, do you mind sharing the issue you were having that lead you to replacing the part?
My truck was running fine years ago. Never was a daily driver until recently. I did a tune up recently because i was getting a misfire code either cylinder 1 or 5. Also because it was running a bit sluggish. After the tune up my truck started running rough still a bit sluggish bt now its idling lo in gear at times and hesitant/backfiring(not really backfiring, but it kind of seems like it’s missing a beat when accelerating) especially after a cold start. I’m sure it’s a sign of the misfire, but before the tuneup I wasn’t getting any signs. The guy at the parts store asked if I’ve ever change the ignition coil and I told him that I never have but I did replace the distributor years ago. Could this be my issue?
The misfire today was cylinder 7 never been 7 before. I was reading other comments and you mentioned making sure the plus are gapped correctly im not sure if my mechanic double checked but I’d like to have a general idea of what the problem may be
Once I changed my whole fuel system, tank & all do to busted lines and a hole in my tank is when I started having hesitation issues, like when I would punch it down to passing gear to get on the highway and so on, it would stumble for a second or two then take off, since my fuel system was all new, I started checking vacuum lines which were all good, i did a full tune up, spark plus, wires, distributor cap, rotor cap and 02 sensor, yet still had the same issue, but now I started to have a over heating issue, I filmed all these things i replaced but never edited them still on my computer, anyway I took it to a friends house who has a 3k$ scan tool way better then mine, hooked it up found it was a ignition issue losing spark, that's when I changed my ignition coil & ignition control module after changing then it ran like a champ again, until dash wiring burned do to rigged wiring from the owner before me, she's been parked for a year now while I do it all, wife wants me to sale, which is not happening I'll never get my money back out of it.

N i fid full tune up changed fuel pump to my truck still isnt syarting so i bought a starter gonna put it on tomorrow n than might get engine control module to but money not high rn but still hoping itll fome together solid.but thanks helped alot ill be getting ignition to cuz truck used to smell like gas bad when it did run.thankz
Check relays also, plus these older trucks have to have 55lbs of fuel pressure before they will even start, gas smell inside sounds like a exhaust leak or somebody plugged the vape line or it got a hole in it.
@@DADDYGVILLESWORLD yea it didnt need a starter. So now the only way it startsf i put fuel starter in the throttle n 4 secomds later it was shutting off the truck so my gues is i need new throttle body n air take sensor..
@@benrojo1520 So it will only start with starter fluid, sounds to me like the gas air mix is off, like you got a vacuum line clogged/broke (cheap part) dirt air filter, the costly part clogged fuel filter or fuel send line, bad sending unit, sending insufficient amount of gas, bad/clogged injectors, you said you done a tune up, you sure the plugs are gapped right. Even buying pre-gapped sparker plugs always double check cause sometimes there not gapped right, i literally just filmed replacing my whole fuel system tak line an all beside injectors, but not posted yet still editing
@@benrojo1520 but i would start with the easy stuff like looking for bad lines, vacuum & gas, then get you a small gas can unbolt the front side of the fuel filter put a line on it to gas can, turn key on, pump should kick on an if it pushes gas in the can like no tomorrow, its not the filter. Hook it back up start looking at other things. Most of the time its something small were not paying attention to. I also have a fb page same name, you can send 60 second vids to.
@@DADDYGVILLESWORLD yea the fuel filter n lines to gas tank to kotor is new n solid pressur for gas in strong.. n ill double check the spark plugs or maybe i burnt out the cap it wa new but its been months ive been cranking it so tomorrow after i put of gear box ill check all spark plugs n all the tune up again to make sure nothing is burnt out. N ok
Could it be a ignition coil if the truck don't even want to start and just cranks but no fire are all.
Could be one of the issues, my truck had the same style crank no start issue, I changed the ICM- ignition control module, which controls the spark/timing then it would fire right up, I change the ignition coil cause it was running like crap. Hopefully this helps, thanks for watching & commenting, let me know when you get it fixed and what it was if it isn't what I said but I'm 90% sure it's the icm
Why not drill it in place and just pull it out?
