    Rob thank you so much for posting this video! You are a tremendous asset for all Southern California fishermen. You and "Wilderness with Amani" are the true ambassadors of fishing for trout in California. Not only do both of you share extensive fishing bait and tackle tips, but you both share location and filming techniques to all of your audience. It is so generous for you to take the effort to film all your videos and share all of your extensive fishing and filming knowledge with us. It is so sad that "Urban Outdoorsman" had such a wonderful channel that we all learned so much from, but then he decided to become a Prima Donna, and decided that he would only share detailed fishing tips with his Patreon subscribers. I hope you never adopt his business model. Thank you for all you do. Thank you for this video and God bless! 👍👍👌👌🤛🤛

    Great assortment of gear! You videos are always educational for our new friends in the sport. Friends called me a tackle whore for years and then I down sized a lot of stuff. On my to get list are those automatic pole holders that you use. When shore fishing (bait n wait style) trout watch me and usually bite while I'm taking a nap! I have a tackle bag for certain species of fishing. One for bass fishing, one for trout fishing and one for offshore tuna fishing in San Diego. Last but not least is a reel bag for the saltwater reels. The weight of everything sure adds up over the years.
    I really like the chartreuse shad color powerworms for the Nebraska Tailwalkers when lakes were stocking them. Chaulk Mound Hatchery (located in Bridgeport Nebraska) went down during covid so not sure if it will be in operation again. Lets hope so again someday. My home lake of Mission Viejo is still struggling with golden algae so they haven't stocked anything since 2016. So we'll venture out to the mountain lakes for trout fishing and hopefully see ya there! If you see Anthony from OC Outdoorsman on his kayak tip him over! Haha! He is still learning how to trout fish and absorb info from his fishing friends!😃 I better be quiet or he'll make me drive alone!

      Haha well its nice to hear I’m not the only one with a tackle addiction. Im starting to have multiple tackle bags as well for different species and even different lakes, the struggle is real. Thats too bad about Mission Viejo, I had no idea. I drove an ambulance down in that area in the 90’s and always wanted to fish there.

    Rob, thanks for all the great content you put out, big fan of the channel! I noticed you use Vanford 2000 as opposed to the 1000, is this because youre using braid? I plan to use 2lb mono as main line and get the 1000 at just over 5oz. Curious why you went with 2000. Thanks!

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors
      @SeaSpankerOutdoors  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching 🙏. I got the 2000 simply because it holds more line on the spool. The only difference between the 1000 and 2000 is spool size, everything else is the same. If your using 2lb the 1000 will definitely get the job done for ya 🤘

    Thank You very much for the video, Getting pumped for the season to start up. I’ve been wanting to get a GoPro for some simple recording and whatnot and looking at used to see how it is before dropping a lot of coin. Are their certain version of the GoPro’s that people use or stay away from? I mean do people that vid their fishing usually use say version 4 or newer, something like that? I know it’s just opinion, but I don’t personally know anyone who does it, and with so many opinions on the iNet…we’ll you know what I mean 😊

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors
      @SeaSpankerOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks brother. GoPro models dont matter too much to me as they usually just add features that I dont use. I would definitely get one capable of 4k. You dont have to film in 4k but its really nice to have especially when filming in the outdoors. If I was you Id get a GoPro Hero Session 7, 8, or 9. Most of those you can get refurbished at a big discount. A few of mine are refurbished and they work great. Now all you gotta figure out is how much recording your gonna do during your trip so you can pick a good sized memory card. I use 256gb in most of mine and those will record 4k all day long if needed. If your just gonna record things as they happen a 128gb should be fine. Next your gonna want yo pick up a couple extra batteries and a charger. It really sucks getting to the lake and your GoPro dies after the first catch snd you dont have any extra batteries. Last you just need to buy a chest mount or mount it in your head/hat and your good to go 🤘

      He takes more than you do I bet.
      Seriously though, I was a sponsored
      Angler for a while. I wasn't meeting the mark. A seasoned pro gave me a tip, I was taking to much gear, to many options. He suggested I narrow down my selection and learn to really use the baits I brought and in all conditions. So I did as he suggested. My placement changes within a season and I really learned my baits well. Now all I need to know is water clarity, outside Temps, depth, and general bottom make up and I'm golden. My gear pack weighs 20lbs less now if not more and I know my baits better than most, and I finish much much higher.
      Give it a shot. You have nothing to lose but major lbs in gear and everything to gain. EVERYTHING
