yeah I'm using the snaps too, love em. I have to crimp the top eyelet as there is sometimes a gap but worth it. I just keep a small box of jigs in my pocket and leave the tackle box on shore when wading.
another great vid Rob. love the underwater footage. I am headed to the Mid for my bucket list trip April 8th - 12th. I am so excited. I am fishing from shore and not bringing a ladder. Just going to scout the lake and see what happens. Can't wait for your Mid vid soon.
Right on. Stoked you’re making the pilgrimage to Valhalla. Ill be back up there 3/18-3/21, about 2 weeks before your up there. Make sure you send me a message and ill give you all the intel I got 🤘
@@SeaSpankerOutdoorsRob, I see you mention the Runcl powerfluoro line in your videos. Is there somewhere specifically that you go to purchase? I am looking for some 5lb 1000yd but can only really find the 300yd readily available.
Anutha great vid Rob.😀👍 It's been a "minute" since I've been to Hesperia lake...do they do catch and release there? Or is it like I just found out about at the "mudhole," catch and keep?🤔 Either way keep these vidz comin my friend. Peace ✌😎
Its very similar rules to the mudhole. Its catch and keep and they come by at different times of the day to keep track of your fish count. That said Ive never seem anyone busted for releasing a fish here snd there as long as its in good condition
LIked. I have lots of those clips and I tend to use the small when I do. Have you noticed any reduction in bite rates? I think I have so I stopped using them. But if you use them regularly, please tell and I'll try them again. Thanks!
Honestly I will need to look into it. 2 of them were old and given to me. I just repainted them. 2 others I bought from a guy that was walking around Hesperia lake selling them and I didn’t get his contact info. Ill look into it and see if I can find someone that is currently making them and put it out there.
Your videos are awesome. It would be cool to make a list of the best trout fish attractants and to test them out against each other. I’m sure people have some secret dips they use. I’ll share one for you all. Use Cod liver oil and dip your live worms or your mice tails in it.
What brand tube hooks are those? I am looking for sharp (chemically or lazer sharpened) and strong ones. I currently am using the gamakatsu tube hooks but they seem a little long extending farther down the tentacles than the hooks you have.
Those are owner hooks. I also have some with the gamakastu hooks as well. To be honest I haven’t had an issue with either as far as the jigs go. I remember a big trout straightened an owner mosquito hook on me once but I just figured it was a defective hook
Ok thanks I can't find them in Owner Hooks... guessing someone custom pouring them for ya. But good to here my Gamakatsu tube jighead hooks will work even though they seem to slightly hinder the movement of the tentacles!
I guess it would depend on what your doing with that hook. If your using a size 4 hook for dropshot for instance thats a bit big for trout and may be why your loosing fish. I typically use a size 8 and sometimes a size 10.
The marabous definitely work for those that prefer to use them. I just pro staff fir Golden State so when it comes to jigs thats what I prefer to use. All the same techniques will definitely work equally🤘
Lol Of course now I figure out I should have bought the large snaps. I just bought them for the first time last week on Amazon but I bought the small. I don't know how any human on earth can actually handle those things. You can barely even see them they're so tiny lol
Im not sure but anything is possible. I dont have alot of experience fishing for spotties but I would think a single 4” super tube would work better than a double rig given how hard they fight but who knows
Another excellent video chocked full of tips. Nice job dude. 👈🔥
Thanks brother. Hope to see ya out there soon 🤘
@@SeaSpankerOutdoors No doubt! We'll fish at some point. 👌👈
Let me tell ya sir I’ve been slaying em fish in Utah ever since I started learning about mini jigging through you. Thanks for all these videos sir.
Outstanding! Thats what I like to hear. Glad your getting on them trout🤘
Lots of good information. I love your videos.
Thanks I really appreciate it 🙏
Nice video Rob. I like those fly fishing snaps. Glad you pointed out get the large ones. It sure beats the heck of re-tying.

Great info, Rob! Nice catch on the lunkers.🐟 The "Big Stick" color is awesome.👍 Hesperia always stocks some nice big ones. 🎣

I use them all the time when fishing mini jigs and have not noticed any reduction in bites. If I did I wouldn’t use them 🤘
Good job man nice fishing 🎣 and good video
Thanks Noe 🤘

I've actually heard quite a few people had really good success with the Papa John's garlic dip sauce!
Thats a good Idea. I may just do that 🤘 and the papa johns garlic really is a thing haha

Cheers 🎣
Latest update is they are hoping for an early April release. When they get here there should be plenty for all who want one 🤘

Good info 👍
where you using the fly snaps while you were fishing in the video?
Absolutely. If you look closely at the video when I am unhooking the fish you can see them 🤘
Awesome video bro I been losing more fish then I am catching lately I us a number 4 hook what am I doing wrong stay fishy Redmond OREGON

so why are small marabou jigs not added into the mix ever?

I tried using those fly fishing clips in size L man I couldn’t get the jig on
It takes a little getting used to but does get easier once you figure it out
Lol Of course now I figure out I should have bought the large snaps. I just bought them for the first time last week on Amazon but I bought the small. I don't know how any human on earth can actually handle those things. You can barely even see them they're so tiny lol
Lol tell me about it. Those things are insanely small
I agree, don't see how anybody can use the small snaps. You'd have to take your tying table with the magnifying glass with you. LOL
@@ChristopherAlvarez111 LOL
To use the small, use fly pliers.
I wonder if a double mini jig would work? Works for spotties in the bay 🤷🏻♂️🤔
Im not sure but anything is possible. I dont have alot of experience fishing for spotties but I would think a single 4” super tube would work better than a double rig given how hard they fight but who knows
I've tried it a few times. Using the hookup baits setup. I have caught a few fish on it, but like using the solo jig setup better.
