I think mark hamill is such a loose not uptight person he doesn't seem to be to serious he just seems like it's not Abigail deal and he can just be a really fun guy in my perspective even though I haven't met him

(spoilers) It's really a shame that Rian chose to reshape Luke in the way that he did. you can tell in most if not all of his interviews that Mark feels similarly - he even says in this one that to him, a jedi does not give up. I think Rian really made a huge mistake in making Luke a grouchy old man before eventually killing him off. Personally, I don't think TLJ was as bad as some people are saying, but this is a mistake that I just can't get past. I had really been hoping for Luke to be in the third movie. It just won't be the same without the original trio.
Ironic then Luke is doing exactly what Obi wan and Yoda did. But unlike Yoda before dying or Obi Wan he actually learned from his mistakes and imparted the flaws of Jedi on Rey before death and not after.
FYI Luke is not grouchy, he is suicidal and guilty( exact same things he was in EST and TRJ) and saying that he can never be anything but hopeful and positive and resilient basically implies that he is not allowed to be traumatized, grieving and no space for the "weaker" emotions. Luke is on character but not the "hero" anymore. That is the point. Right there in OT.
