If you calculate inflation from 2019 on £390 to present day in 2024 it would be £475. So where do they get their new prices from, it far exceeds inflation so it ain't market forces, just taking the pee out of punters.

Because of yourself , We loved our twice a year excursions to the outlet ,but now its all gone alas , But now the quality and sizing is qwerky weird and odd to say the least , and outrageous price wise ! polos are now below par quality as with the footwear which can be ugly , I had the same poly jacket as yourself but eventually it went a discoloured yellow ! kept the liner put the cover in the bin as nothing can remove the discolouration great show dude

i got some nice stuff back in the day before the big price increases think i got like a greenish grey down jacket for like £250 and i got a royal blue zip hoodie for £110 (negotiated down from £140 for a whole in the hood which you cant see and im not even sure where it is)

Prices are all relative, factor in 7 years of inflation. You can't compare prices 7 years ago to today's prices. Inflation has been close to 11% in recent times. Although over past 2 years prices have rocketed.
Really so why is Cp company not jumped the same way, they were considered the more premium brand upon release, what about Belstaff , Barbour, ma strum, martial artists, Maharishi, I’ve seen the costs price and marks up on Si, so I’m not really buying the whole inflation thing, more over it is a strategy they thought would ascend the brand into luxury category in my opinion, I personally believe Moncler thought that Stone Island was under priced for what it was, and they possibly coerced Stone Island to increase the price to be in line with that of Moncler, in addition, they would have likely seen the slowdown in sales, so that increase in price would act as a buffer for when the items actually go on sale, which if you look last year was one of the biggest in Stone Island discount across the board where they usually reserved licensed retailers to only go as low as 30%. However in 2023, I saw discounts of up to 60% from official stockist. If it really was inflation, they wouldn’t be able to go as low as 60%. The truth is even at 60%. They still have very large margins. Massive yearly price marks ups are a marketing strategy reserved for luxury brands. I’m sure you already know that, inflation is not the main driver imo.
This is true in general terms although CP is also quite expensive nowadays compare to what the prices were a few years ago,and also there are much lower discounts in the sales,i used to buy jackets for 150 euros in retailers like Yoox and Farfetch a couple of years back but not anymore especially the last season.

Sadly resellers have killed the heavy discounted prices, and of course they seem so cheap now compared to today's prices with inflation and the working wage. £50 for that grey piece though?!?! Not true, calculate inflation on £390 7 years ago and you get to £475 not the price they are trying to pump out now.
