- Ever wonder how Stone Island started? Stone Island is actually an Italian brand, despite the fact that it's looked at by many as being quintessentially British.
Over the years the brand has also blown up here in the states thanks to colabs with Supreme and Nike.
But how did they really set their start? Let's find out. I'm Nate the Great from Takeflight214.com and this is the history of Stone Island

Thanks for the video. Really cool history lesson. Will be following.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏽
I have a si field jacket made from ww2 japanese tent material and a rare red silk mac.
Still have my jackets from the 80s-90s.
I’m not a football hooligan but I’ve got a few jumpers all stone island badges on left arm. Cp company coat, Burberry scarf , also few Paul and shark. The clothing just looks nice
Moncler bought stone island that doesn’t bother me one but honestly, I wonder if moncler has improved their quality due to this
Well informed video. Great work!
Thx fam
'Casuals' were wearing Stone Island (mainly Marina) by 86 not 92. Many originals dropped the label by 98 going for other Osti pieces such as Production and moreso Left Hand. CP now is an embarrassing parody of Osti's vision using the goggles or the 'compass window' from the 90s Mille Migle jacket in every piece.
Tbf the first time I saw an American wearing this was grand puba in the check it out video
Hey men nice video! Very good documented
I first bought Stone Island and CP Company in around 1992 in a shop called Zee and Co located in Upper Street Islington. At the time I didnt realise it was associated with footie hooligans. I think these days the products are nothing special imo.
What a shop that was 88/92 I used the Roman store every week ,,,
get the badge in
Man I've been following hooligan culture for a long time and all I have to say is they love to turn up
Ok ,Drake was a big fan of the London gang series Top Boy , that much he funded a complete season ..stone island was worn by the gang cast, it’s known street ware in uk ..This was a massive influence on drake bringing it to the US ..bless
The DMV area on stone island heavy right now
Busta rhymes was wearing a stone island jacket on Yo MTV raps in the mid 90's !!!
They also had a third label boniville ,,,,
Actually many more: World Side Web, Production, Navy and Artic, Left Hand, Double Use and collaboration s with brands like Levis
Amazing video
😂 amazing wtf
When English fans(Liverpool) started playing European games they stole brands like fila and Sergio tacchini, in the very late 70s and brought it back to the uk. Then other clubs noticed it, and wanted it, also. By around 1982 most English clubs started wearing the same stuff, by around 1985/86 that when stone island started to get worn, and by the early 90s most clubs started to wear it. In the early 80s no football fan wore stone island it was tennis and golf brands like that I mentioned.
Drake, supreme kinda killed the real stone island
What is that jacket on the video picture at the start please
highest res 360p ?
The older videos were 360 but we upgraded 2 years ago
I seem to remember Spurs were the first UK firm to wear Stone Island on the terraces. I got my first jacket in 1989 and 2 more after that through the 90's. Stopped going to football in 2000 when I emigrated. Had some CP Company clobber too. I liked CP cuz it was understated. I hate the modern stuff with the black disc... WTF is all that about?
Haven't bought any of there clothes it looks good
Their clothes…..idiot
Why 320p? Unwatchable quality but interesting video
Chav island now,
Was for a few years but getting much better again and a lot of them have moved onto the CP Goggle gear now.
Not them being the British Lo Lifes 😂
I wear a lot of stone island but doesn’t make me a football casual to be honest I hate football 😂😂
Well said, ive a few tops as well, i do like football a bit, but they should never prejudge people on good fashion sense.
🔨 ⚒️ 🔨 ⚒️ yours truly from your mate in Memphis
Its football not soccer
Beware of fakes ..OG Dr Green thumP
My wife, would be roasting you if she heard your British accent 😂

It’s an older video, we have since upgraded
FIRST SEEN MY MATE IN A BROWN DUTCH ROPE SYSTEM JACKET IN ABOUT 90 91🏴 B.C.F💯
Stopped watching after the first 30 seconds - English football hooligans, deary me
Well it is in the title, but 30 seconds counts as a view so thx
I've seen more knock off stone island than the real thing.
Americans can neva match our style
It’s called terrace fashion because we live on estates built with terraced houses, ‘the terraces.’ Nothing to do with footy fields mate, just the working class housing estates where we all come from, where the fashion started.
Accent was awful btw 👍
So nowt to do with football terraces ??
Terrace refers to football terraces mate - nothing to do with houses.
WRONG on so many counts. Got nothing to do with Terraced houses. It was Football Terrace fashion first and foremost. Only the Footy Firms around UK wore it in the late 1980"s. That is when the Stadiums still had "Terraces" before they were re-built into all seater stadiums. Spurs firm was always the best dressed back in the day with R.L and then S.I. Abercrombie came much later.
What on earth are you spouting - of course it's about football terraces.
I WERE STUFF NOBODY ELSE WHERE'S IM NO SHEEP. IM A LEADER NOT A FOLLOWER...AS LONG AS IT LOOKS THE PART AND I LIKE IT, IT'S COMFORTABLE and fit's I'm happy. IV still got clobber from the 90s one of my favourite is an old school Burberry jumper wool, and still in good condition man I've still got chevigon Benetton & a PEPE JUMPER... JUST THERE MAN ENYWAYS PEACE OUT 8
The only things I have left from the 90s are trophies and a Kangol jumper, which I still wear.
Now youve even got little kids wearing it its a bit of a joke now
If your wearing stone or cp in England ,,, your not with it ,,, finished 93 very latest ,, or when ossti passed , but amazing gear 87/93
Agree, well past its sell by date now its gone mainstream.... it was a very exclusive brand back then. Hardly anyone wore it in the town on a Saturday night. Only the well off members of the footy firms seemed to wear it... I forked out 600 quid for a jacket in 1993, it was pricey AF back then.
