The feeling i got buying and wearing my first Stone Island jacket as a 20 year old was unmatched. I walked a bit different wearing it. A dark blue suede one . Love there stuff.🙏
I’m not a football hooligan but I’ve got a few jumpers all stone island badges on left arm. Cp company coat, Burberry scarf , also few Paul and shark. The clothing just looks nice and it’s simple street wear!
When English fans(Liverpool) started playing European games they stole brands like fila and Sergio tacchini, in the very late 70s and brought it back to the uk. Then other clubs noticed it, and wanted it, also. By around 1982 most English clubs started wearing the same stuff, by around 1985/86 that when stone island started to get worn, and by the early 90s most clubs started to wear it. In the early 80s no football fan wore stone island it was tennis and golf brands like that I mentioned.
I first bought Stone Island and CP Company in around 1992 in a shop called Zee and Co located in Upper Street Islington. At the time I didnt realise it was associated with footie hooligans. I think these days the products are nothing special imo.
fila, lacoste and sergio where the brands the football hooligans brought back, not stone island, in the late 70s early 80s, stone island first appeared in football fashion in the mid 80s till present.
Ok ,Drake was a big fan of the London gang series Top Boy , that much he funded a complete season ..stone island was worn by the gang cast, it’s known street ware in uk ..This was a massive influence on drake bringing it to the US ..bless
'Casuals' were wearing Stone Island (mainly Marina) by 86 not 92. Many originals dropped the label by 98 going for other Osti pieces such as Production and moreso Left Hand. CP now is an embarrassing parody of Osti's vision using the goggles or the 'compass window' from the 90s Mille Migle jacket in every piece.
I seem to remember Spurs were the first UK firm to wear Stone Island on the terraces. I got my first jacket in 1989 and 2 more after that through the 90's. Stopped going to football in 2000 when I emigrated. Had some CP Company clobber too. I liked CP cuz it was understated. I hate the modern stuff with the black disc... WTF is all that about?
Co,especially from the car rally mulli milia. They had the watch viewer so they could see their watches during the rally. Now used as a logo. Bought cargo pants last week with a small viewer on a pocket. CP is my go to. SI is dog shit these days
the badge is just played out, its gotta go. the designs need more innovation, some of the materials used are not really practical for clothing and disintergarte in a few years of wear. it made its name with good quality, military inspired clothes that were well cut and a good fit. i didnt mind paying a bit more for quality back then. now days you pay £200 for a thin cotton tee which cost less then £5 to produce. people are starting to realise we are been taken for mugs when the quality is the same in zara at a fraction of the price.
It’s called terrace fashion because we live on estates built with terraced houses, ‘the terraces.’ Nothing to do with footy fields mate, just the working class housing estates where we all come from, where the fashion started. Accent was awful btw 👍
WRONG on so many counts. Got nothing to do with Terraced houses. It was Football Terrace fashion first and foremost. Only the Footy Firms around UK wore it in the late 1980"s. That is when the Stadiums still had "Terraces" before they were re-built into all seater stadiums. Spurs firm was always the best dressed back in the day with R.L and then S.I. Abercrombie came much later.
I WERE STUFF NOBODY ELSE WHERE'S IM NO SHEEP. IM A LEADER NOT A FOLLOWER...AS LONG AS IT LOOKS THE PART AND I LIKE IT, IT'S COMFORTABLE and fit's I'm happy. IV still got clobber from the 90s one of my favourite is an old school Burberry jumper wool, and still in good condition man I've still got chevigon Benetton & a PEPE JUMPER... JUST THERE MAN ENYWAYS PEACE OUT 8
Agree, well past its sell by date now its gone mainstream.... it was a very exclusive brand back then. Hardly anyone wore it in the town on a Saturday night. Only the well off members of the footy firms seemed to wear it... I forked out 600 quid for a jacket in 1993, it was pricey AF back then.

Great video. I've been collecting stone island since 2011. one day I will do a big wardrobe reveal. must have 300+ rare pieces.
I would bloody love to see this. 😮
First wore it in 89. Before it became mainstream, poorly made & every cnut wears it.
Thanks for the video. Really cool history lesson. Will be following.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏽
Great vid. The first Hip Hop group i saw wearing Stone Island was Onyx, on their UK tour back in the early 1990's.

I wear a lot of stone island but doesn’t make me a football casual to be honest I hate football 😂😂
Well said, ive a few tops as well, i do like football a bit, but they should never prejudge people on good fashion sense.
