It reminds me of my mom.. no matter where she went she would always be deadheading and cleaning dead leaves off of neglected plants at the dentist office or any business really.. and she would always find other random plant lovers to chat with about plants.. it used to drive me crazy as a teenager I remember thinking people were going to think she was nuts but then some other plant nut would come along and they would chat about how to get rid of spider mites for 20 minutes. Plant people are just drawn to plants and other plant people I guess

Lucky enough to live 25 minutes away! It’s a favorite. Get an $8 lunch, sweets (their cider donuts are the best) and shop for home and garden stock!! They’ve done a fabulous job!
What a nice guy, his love of plants really shined thru. I'd be willing to bet, all of us who live no where near this farm, have FOMO. How proud must the previous generations be of what the younger ones have done with the farm. Wish one of the dozens of farms near me would have done this.

Who else thinks Janey needs to title these videos “FOMO: xyz garden center” LOL. Thank you for sharing this with us. I’ll never get up that way but it was nice to be able to see another beautiful space and the people behind it who obviously love what they do. And kudos to the Bauman family for 1) allowing each other to pursue their passions within the family business and 2) encouraging and supporting each other. I think that’s amazing and truly how a family business can grow over 4 generations.

Brain is truly an artist. He didn't know me, but years ago he used to live next door to my friend and his balcony flowers were phenomenal! They trailed down the whole side of the building. I undoubtedly need to be more grateful that I have access to similar large nurseries and gardens in Michigan.❤. FYI-when I travel near Detroit to see family, I purchase lots of proven winners annuals. I stack bulb crates in my SUV, 15 plants fit in each one.!

I live 4 hours from Baumans and go there a couple times a year to get my fix. First trip is planned for this month. It is the only place in Oregon so far that I have found with a lot of proven winner plants and land and sea compost. Janey you need to come check them out in the summer and or fall when all their flowers on the trellises are in bloom. Spectacular show. Your girls will love all of the animals as well. The goats walk along the bridge and so friendly. Also they have the best employees! They are so helpful and kind.

I grew up in Oregon but had to move to many US cities because of my husband's job but finally because of our previous move, I was able to live in Oregon again and I so miss it. I never knew about this farm but now that I live in SC, Oregon owns my heart. I wish I could visit there. Beautiful!!

I have been to The Greenery in Turlock and did a video, it is wonderful. I will be going back to get some terrace jars soon. Cracked me up when you said folks don't have spider plants in hanging baskets, I do! They are overwintered inside and I hang them out on my porch eave each summer. I had not thought to put other plants in with them, so great idea to incorporate. I am starting Silver Falls Dichondra from seed this year, can't wait to have them in many containers. Gazanias will do great for you, I grew them when I lived in the valley and they are so easy and gorgeous. They don't overwinter here in the mountains but oh well. I am taking notes on the plants he was recommending. 😁That Elegant Feathers looked enticing, I am glad you asked him to send them to Turlock!
When I said yesterday that there are only a few places I've found PW annuals locally, THIS was one of those. I found Dichondra Silver Falls there last summer and it actually wintered over in a pot that I kept somewhat protected. It was fun to see the behind-the-scenes tour with Brian. Great timing! You have prompted me to go again soon. I hate crowds but I might even brave Garden Palooza just to get my hands on the Pink Cashmere and Vintage Coral. Thanks again for visiting us here in the Willamette Valley!
What a great tour, Janey! You have the best garden centers and farms out there! I found Gazania flowers last year. I grew them from seeds. I had about 30 that I popped into my landscape here and there and I even used them for pots. They are a very hardy flower that can withstand abuse and any sort of weather!! They were the last flower I pulled from my garden in the Fall. Here in New England, they lasted until early November. That is pretty much unheard of. They are continuous blooming flowers and need no maintenance. Just leave them alone and they will be quite happy. They can take the heat of the summer really well, with not a lot of water. They did great in the cool weather too. In fact, I should go start some seedlings now. Enjoy!!

Gazanias were native to Southern Africa. They’re beautiful perennial flowers. The best part is that the flowers go to sleep at night and open up when the sun comes up.
Janey I don’t normally comment on videos but I got so excited when Brian mentioned Turlock California because it’s my area and I never knew about that garden center , I usually shop in Modesto , so I’m definitely checking it out , thank you for all your educational videos ,specially your best for the West garden that’s the reason why I joined your channel because I couldn’t find anybody in zone 9b , you’re doing a great job

I grew up in Oregon but had to move to many US cities because of my husband's job but finally because of our previous move, I was able to live in Oregon again and I so miss it. I never knew about this farm but now that I live in SC, Oregon owns my heart. I wish I could visit there. Beautiful!!

I have been to The Greenery in Turlock and did a video, it is wonderful. I will be going back to get some terrace jars soon. Cracked me up when you said folks don't have spider plants in hanging baskets, I do! They are overwintered inside and I hang them out on my porch eave each summer. I had not thought to put other plants in with them, so great idea to incorporate. I am starting Silver Falls Dichondra from seed this year, can't wait to have them in many containers. Gazanias will do great for you, I grew them when I lived in the valley and they are so easy and gorgeous. They don't overwinter here in the mountains but oh well. I am taking notes on the plants he was recommending. 😁That Elegant Feathers looked enticing, I am glad you asked him to send them to Turlock!
When I said yesterday that there are only a few places I've found PW annuals locally, THIS was one of those. I found Dichondra Silver Falls there last summer and it actually wintered over in a pot that I kept somewhat protected. It was fun to see the behind-the-scenes tour with Brian. Great timing! You have prompted me to go again soon. I hate crowds but I might even brave Garden Palooza just to get my hands on the Pink Cashmere and Vintage Coral. Thanks again for visiting us here in the Willamette Valley!

What a great tour, Janey! You have the best garden centers and farms out there! I found Gazania flowers last year. I grew them from seeds. I had about 30 that I popped into my landscape here and there and I even used them for pots. They are a very hardy flower that can withstand abuse and any sort of weather!! They were the last flower I pulled from my garden in the Fall. Here in New England, they lasted until early November. That is pretty much unheard of. They are continuous blooming flowers and need no maintenance. Just leave them alone and they will be quite happy. They can take the heat of the summer really well, with not a lot of water. They did great in the cool weather too. In fact, I should go start some seedlings now. Enjoy!!

Gazanias were native to Southern Africa. They’re beautiful perennial flowers. The best part is that the flowers go to sleep at night and open up when the sun comes up.
Janey I don’t normally comment on videos but I got so excited when Brian mentioned Turlock California because it’s my area and I never knew about that garden center , I usually shop in Modesto , so I’m definitely checking it out , thank you for all your educational videos ,specially your best for the West garden that’s the reason why I joined your channel because I couldn’t find anybody in zone 9b , you’re doing a great job
