12:00 "Mycroft, play 'Avengers Assemble'."> Plays "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes"
Mycroft is like kinect ........ it opens on the first word only.
So thats where M$ dumped all the produced but never sold Kinect devices... they simply dumped it in Mycroft |o|
5 ads in 13 minutes, wow
tazer191 ik, *that filthy bastard*
At least it is less than morgz
Just skip ten seconds before the ad comes lol
@@MadhuKraft oh wow thanks for the advice, I think I have moved on from this catastrophe though
"I wanted something compact, with it's own internal storage. I couldn't find that anywhere on the market."
So they forgot about the Nvidia Shield?
O cool a regular pi in a different case.
Hell yeah
The mycroft devs are probably already back to the day jobs now that amazons echo and echo dot are on the market.
Nah, ...it's just time for the second phase of the project... call the sleazy lawyers.
RetroGamerAndy what about Google home
Ding was just thinking of that as well
3:44 "High Resolution Audio" hahahahah
You know high resolution audio is actually a thing?
@@tofurama yup
Slice will do .... .blah, blah, blah... everything that you can do with Kodi/XBMC for a faction of the price. I wish these people wouldn't imply that they have added loads of things to Kodi's functionality.
Slice is the most useless out of any of these raspi builds. Literally there is no reason to use slice when you could just have a pc and play it on there or use devices like Kodi. Hell, I homebrew my Nintendo Wii and I have all my shows, movies, music and videos all on my Wii with an external hard drive.
Tingbox and Mycroft look VERY interesting. mycroft could replace the Echo and similar devices since it's open source but it has allot of catching up to do, and the price needs to come down. with the Echo Dot being around $40 you cant beat that really.
I loved the tons of ads; they bring unique and rich content to the screen.
"mycroft, lock up for the day" *turns up the heat* wtf??
BitesCGI hahahaha
I actually liked that, the last thing i do before leaving each morning is turning up our AC so it's not blowing super cold all day, then i turn it down as soon as we get home. we don't have a wifi enabled thermostat, though we did in our old house and i'd do it via the phone app then. Would be nice for a device to do this automatically.
The AC setting is to 'trick' the thermostat to not turn on AC during the day, wasting power.
I have owned my pi for a week now and I am amazed what I can do just out of the box.
0:50 lol look at the lights on the controllers
They are playing Mario kart with Xbox controllers that aren't even on
Really they are selling rbp with xbmc? :D :D
Techakti originally it was Xbox media centre as it was made after first Xbox console got hacked.
you may dont remember it, today it is called KODI and you can download it for free and you can put it on your RBP. You need a box and a remote from ebay and you are done.
Yeah, when I bought my Raspberry Pi it came with XBMC already on the SD card.
Can't wait to play Mario Kart on a 3' screen.
HeyitsDakta hey you dropped this ‘
YAY!
And if you use split-screen like they did it's 1.5 inch. Lol
no thanks, not usefull, not comfortable, i have 10 inch display and have lot too small. not good.
>Mycroft listens for its name
So it's constantly stalking you, Yay security
+Robert Wagner Same for Amazon Echo, the new Google thing, Xbox Kinect voice control, Hey Siri, the list goes beyond my knowledge, I'm sure.
Haha thats the same way Alexa, Amazon Echo and Google Home work.
Robert Wagner
except that mycroft is actually open source, so it's actually checkable, whether it's stalking you
Slice and Mycroft are pretty much dead on arrival, most of this stuff is just crap that already existed in better forms that some guys(and a gal) are trying to cash in on.
all these products looks awesome
that mycroft thing looks cool, but id rather not walk around my house yelling "MYCROFT, DO DIS, MYCROFT DO DAT".
Slice seems like an interesting concept, except for the fact that you can pick up some of the older Roku’s for surprisingly cheap.
The second one seems like a slightly worse version of a Android TV box...
They both play 1080p at 60fps.
Jeremiah Lauzon It came out way before Android TV
Jeremiah Lauzon Honestly, the slice seemed like the only entertaining piece to me.
but an android tv box don't have RGB lighting XD
Jeremiah Lauzon please explain what benefit of Android is thanks
I love how they say the my croft is so affordable you can have one in every room. "Affordable - Mycroft is priced at only $154 per unit, which makes it affordable enough to install 100% coverage in your home or office." Yeah i got 200$ for every room in my house including the garage.. are you serious? how is this affordable? I was honestly expecting the price to be some where around 20-60$.
They sold 56 units for $80 each to early backers, I'd say that's a way more attractive price then nearly $200.
You know... google and Amazon are about to get thousands from their own projects... this one isn't as expensive as theirs.
"Missing a key feature, just develop your own solution" yeah because we are all capable to that... haha!
Joe Zylstra And Raspberry Pi 2 didn't have wifi so, did they account for that with a 3rd party wifi module?
the amazon echo dot is $50 and has a feature where it can tell which dot ur closest to if u have more than one dot, it will have only the closest one respond
Mycroft ? why not Sherlock ?? 😂😂
... I have one Amazon echo dot for the entire house, set up as a smart home, and it works flawlessly. why would I want a giant weird looking alarm clock with a face in every room...
Kazz Maybe the face is to remind the owner what a human being looks like under a beard more suited to a Cornish fisherman :)
Also it sounds like a meme voiceover
You can add your own features big man
Less chance of the government invading your privacy by letting one of their spies into your house
Bruh
2:49 a fucking phone maybe?
or an android tv box
ipod?
tingbot and mycroft are my favs
I’m so proud that this nabbed footage was in my recommended.
*It's so affordable, you can have one in every room!*
Ok, $180 per unit is not affordable, and there are 7 rooms in my house. Talk about cheap.
If you can afford a seven room house this is affordable to you
but a Google Home Mini is $50 dollars and once went on sale for $18 dollars, plus it connects to 100s of apps and can control much more, plus it can connect to Google services like UA-cam and get it to play videos on your chromecast. Plus (again) you can buy 3 of these, and still not reach the price of a Mycroft. Oh yeah, it also has better TTS.
@@jonasgrill1155 You can't beat privacy of Open Source
I consider all of these things listed as "Cool little home projects built on Raspberry Pi".
I already have a pi connected to my tv set using a 1TB external hard drive, running xbmc and streaming to another pi upstairs... Why would I want the fancy casing and the useless leds? Moreover, they don't have the pi 3 as a compute module... I think slice is doomed...
JonitoFischer yrp
Tingbot 0:40
Slice 2:35
BrickPi 4:46
Flotilla 8:53
Satan 11:28
It's awesome to see that all of these projects use Python!
Flotilla and Mycroft are my favs 💜
You guys are inspiration
I really dig the SW guys hair - like on a LEGO guy. Like you could just lift it off and put it on another LEGO guy.
The slice skin for xbmc/kodi looks grate, is there a download link for it?
Those are some nice cases for the pie lol
LOL mycroft so affordable you can have one in every room? how is $164+ shipping affordable? HAHAHAHA
I was thinking the same thing, the Amazon dot is like $45 (35 on prime day) and even the echo and the google device are cheaper then this. i like its open source and open for add-ons, but not sure that's worth such a high pricepoint.
Jason Larson
use monopoly play money...problem solved!
Misleading title
Nothing can be "amazing" if its not even made yet. These are all promotial ads. So of course they're advertised to be "amazing".
Not true, every Dream starts somewhere
Slice can be marketed as an all-in-one Media Player that can also be connected to a pc or act as a TV.
These technologies are looking friendlier and friendlier. Things are headed in the right direction.
am i the only one that understood "Minecraft" at 11:43? XDD
No
nah
I thought it said minecrap
i like the Slice, i'd love to work with them when i brand my company :)
flotilla sorry to tell you but i dont have that much micro usb cables thank you i will stick to my arduino :D
Thought this was gonna be a "Top 5" List Newspiece, Not a Tingbot Commercial.
Let's take this amazing mini computer that can do anything and only make it do what we want.
I agree. Chaining these computers down to simple tasks like "media center" and "game console" is ridiculous and hubristic. I bought 6 of them and set them free in the forest so they can do what THEY want to do. I visit them from time to time. They seem happy.
Tingbot shmingbot....no one's gonna play games on that lol.
I don't know how to build Legos. I have no hands.
Wow great presentation.
One day everyone will be living like the jetsons.
#5 has a chance to be memed to death with that voice. 😂
NEW TITTLE: How many ways to say Raspberry Pi...
you know you're lonely when you use it for a friend..... lol
@2. "Slice":
... so your product can do everything that a Raspberry Pi can do, but way less... for a bigger price!
Thank you Slice
8:34 I bet in that kids head he's saying "Don't hurt me daddy."
Damn, this is pretty cool, I'm buying a Raspberry Pi this week, and this is pretty good!
I love how they say "Missing a feature? JUST develop them on your own!" XD In what world are they living in?
A Android TV box still seems better than all of these lol
MuscleMan you put "an" before an object starting with a
a raspberry pi costs %
$35. and you can get android tv box for just $25 or less.
austin bevis, you forgot to use a full stop/period at the end of your sentence.
Try to get your grammar right before attempting to correct someone else.
These guys like their ads
It's cool to watch this because I am watching it on a raspberry pi
i wish they still sold that slice thing
the brick pi was basically the official computer of the lego mindstorms
Fucking skynet.. here we have humans making the most clever computers, what the fuck happens when they realise that humans are just in the way?
have them take the red pill
k1 wiz80 that wont happen anytime soon. Computers are straight up idiots. If you tell a child to go pickup a tool for you, like a handsaw, the child will automatically know that if it isn't in its usual place, then it must be somewhere else and the child will either go back and tell you it isn't there or trying to look for it. A computer however is a whole other matter. If you tell it to pickup the tool it will go to the exact place where the tool uses to be, but if the tool isn't there it will simply put out an error message because it cant spot it on its normal place. It will only try to look for it, if that has been written in its code and even then it will only look at places where you told it to look. It will neither report back to you with anything, unless it stands in its code. AI today literally only does what it's code says and nothing else. Nothing in existence is more stupid than a 01 machine. Only AI in a Quantum Computer can possibly become self aware like Skynet. But there are no Quantum computers that are strong enough for that yet and even then you can throw on a limiter in its code, making it clear that it must follow orders and can thus not use self awareness to anything. So really no need to be afraid 😊
Well thats cleared that up then, still.......i wouldnt rule that kind of stuff out in the near future, i honestly believe that it could be possible given the rate at which technology is advancing, then again i could be totally wrong, only time will tell.
yea that just what i want an open source hardware device that anyone can develop for that is connected to my wifi and can turn my security system on and off and unlock my doors. do you want skynet because this is how you get skynet
It's a bit for the money when some do this. People were supposed to stack things up on them on their own. It can become something popular, but that's rare.
Watching this makes me wish I stuck with programming as one of my hobbies. Currently trying to learn Python with my Raspberry Pi.
the first one was the on.y good one
PI , mild java skills and kickstarter, like crack to unemployed scripters
This built ups are good.. Pls also do Check 3d computer viewing technology made using Raspberry pi
0:50 these controllers aren't even connected :')
ya they are the usb on the side is a split controller adapter
Trent Bell notice the green Xbox led flashing? That means its not connected
Jos Meerssman nigga its connected
Jos Meerssman not necessarily, just means it's connected to something other than a 360.
Number three is basically the brick for mindstorms seems in nesesary unless you don't have the brick
7 ads in a 13minute video yay
The guy in the first Product is so gorgeous..
I wish I was smart 😞
matt Marshall what is smart? It's not intelligence, its dedication. Albert Einstein couldn't tie his shoes, does that mean he was stupid? No, it meant he was more interested in his thought experiments.
garrett gaddy Einstein was the man lol but hey I still manage to blow peoples minds with the things I do and that's all that really matters
Yup :P if you enjoy what you do an do it often you'll surprise yourself with what you can do. ;)
matt Marshall Islands p3p34 yu hu n. b x
more like "5 Bullshit unnecessary gadgets built on Raspberry Pi"
5 Raspberry pi cases worth more than pi itself.
Or 5 gadgets clips cladded with 5 ads. .. OR how to put 5 adverts into a 13 minute clip..
You have to admit connecting it to mind storm is pretty sweet.
Andy B at least they do something. Mycroft is ok and Slice is good too
"Potential for so many exciting projects..." This is no different than figuring out ways to repurpose your old smartphones and tablets.
Lovestream of my pig!Totally there only reason why i want this
brick pi is awesome
Bad ting deh, love it 👍👍👍👊
Mycroft seems like something I'd by then never use again
Tingbot looks a bit like a modernized Chumby.
Love my Chumby.
'I wanted a personal media player that was portable and has its own internal storage.'
We call them mp3 players.
I wasn't expecting what is essentially advertisements.
Can someone recommend me how to learn to make such an software like slice? Do they habe an OS on their raspberry or is it just their software? Would be really nice, if someone could tell me, how I can do it by myself.
Mycroft, open the front door.
Mycroft: No, open the damn door yourself!
Number 3 is also known as "THE BRICK" that you get with the Lego Mindstorm. Why the hell do you need this?
brickpi = lego mindstorms
Boxee Box used to be built from XBMC and sold at retail but sold it to Samsung.
The BrickPi is also known as the poor man's NXT
Mycroft sounds like Minecraft in a British accent.
I don’t trust that mycroft Minecraft thing. I don’t want it watching my sleep
I like brickpi
Mycroft...."open the door" welcome mr burglar
Can Flotilla make your speech, legible. LOL
the way the guys laughs 😅
#3, how long will a 9v battery run a Pi even without the motors?
Wait.... what if you combined the slice xbmc with the retro game wizard and had like a movie and gaming set up
These are all just home DIY projects with high price tags!
the next rasberry pie will have a powerful video card add on that can play high end games
i would like to make an android box so i can run my electronic grand board dartboard need a webcam and a touch screen ... could you tell me what i need to buys this (electronic dartboard Gran Board 3 )
actually the show was not avengers assemble but avengers earths mightiest heroes so its not as smart as u think
