Hey, same height here. Don't think anymore just go for it and you will love it. The only thing that you might get surprised though is the tire buzz on your butt.
I loved this video. I learn so much from Cristina and she always keeps me entertained. Got to go now out to the garage and search my bike for those missing socks.
Go to Mahalo My Dude’s Video “Steepest trail I’ve ever ridden” go to like two minutes and you’ll see Ben Wallace before all the game and glory and cockiness of Pinkbike academy
I hate all these reality tv shows. You know they're so staged to bring about drama. But yet I'm so digging Pinkbike Academy. First reality tv show I can think of where I can't wait to see the next episode!
I Really loved this bike check 😍..all my questions answered and it's like the bike of my dreams 🤩, just what I want , but without the socks 😂thanks Christina!!
Sorry Christina, Jason's bike check convinced me to get a Norco Sight (A2). The Trek Slash (8) was very much on my radar, but it was hard to beat the $1300AUD price difference. Awesome bike btw.
Finally a sponsored bike without all top end components which most of us won't be able to afford (cough cough matt jones builds) really epic rig especially considering all components. Awesome Christina 😍(ps that Emoji is for both of you 😉) The only thing is i hate all these huge brands like trek specialized pivot when the time comes to get warranty i don't think it'll be a smooth job like transition, evil, devinci, vitus etc. Also if you guys can make a video on how trek get away with using split pivot which dave weagle has patent on?
I have a Trek Remedy 7 and i absolutely love the 27.5 wheels. I absolutely love that bike, it fits me like a glove and with legs that are probably as short as yours haven't i had a problem with buzzing my bum on the rear tire which was a problem when i rode a 29 for a week going mostly down hill
That’s a nice rig! What’s that awesome orange paint color called?? I’m still riding my 2014 Scott Genius 740 (purchased brand new in 2014) and I still love it! Only things I’ve upgraded are my Velocity Blunt 35 tubeless wheels on Chris King hubs, and a RaceFace narrow/wide chainring! I’ve ridden it through hell and back here in Texas, and it’s been an incredibly fun bike ever since the day I bought it!
Hey Christina, is there a particular reason, why you're riding the DH casing in front and the lighter SG casing in the rear? I would have guessed you'd run them the other way round. Mainly for weight reasons as it seems to make more sense to run the heavier tyre in the back. ✌🏻
trek slash= king of all 29er allmountain/Enduro.. btw 29 is not a problem for small riders even top ews TFR enduro racer katty winton she's 5'2 .5 height she ride small.. and me im 5'5.5 with 31 inch inseam and medium slash is my optimal and my prefer size on trek mtb
@@qusaishabbir9924 depends which version Trek Slash you get, the Slash 7 costs about 2700, slash 8 about 3100 i think. Other models will be a higher price tho. By the wat, these prices i have put are in british pounds
It’s a great bike. I have the CFR 9.0 and love it. I know every man and his dog is running with a 29er these days but the bike is such fun and super playful in its 650b wheels.
I was in between 21 slash and 21 spectral 8.0, went for spectral, not regretting at all. Really playful bike.. Enjoying it for last 3 weeks. Plus it’s cheaper about 1000€ and a bit better components on it.
Rad ride! Is it fun for long trips too? Being an enduro bike? I heard a lot of gripe that enduro bikes are sluggish but I want a bike that can do both. Light enduro, all-mountain and long trips. Something like Giant reign 29 or Trek slash?
#Pinkbike Christina, are you a CrossFitt'r also? I've found that getting into the box has helped by riding exponentially! Awesome whip and always love your content.
Hi Christina, great video as usual! Have you ever done a video about you hitting the gym? I think you have a great workout for the upper body, isn't it?
That is crazy low on the pressure. I'd bottom out before the first pedal crank. Even at 150 psi and locked out, the sag ring rarely lasts me past the first ride.
Trek just need to redesign Slash to 27.5 with 180mm front fork and there you go a freeride bike but the rear was not that big but its ok as long as it feels like a smaller DH bike its good
Yea, it is impressive that she gets away with it. She's a small/light rider though and has a lot of travel, so I guess that helps? Also, she could be a really smooth rider. :)
I'm 117 pounds and can't go much lower than 22 without denting my rim or tearing my sidewall. I'm clipped in btw which should keep me a little lighter on the bike.
Really appreciated the insight from a smaller rider on a 29er. In 5’6” and considering a 29er for the stability and speed.
I've been riding my 29er since I was 5"2 and I didn't notice a difference until I tried 27.5 again. I'm never going to switch back to 27.5
Hey, same height here. Don't think anymore just go for it and you will love it. The only thing that you might get surprised though is the tire buzz on your butt.
I'm the same height and weight as Christina (5'4, 135lbs) and ride a small Santa Cruz Hightower with 29in wheels and absolutely love it
Same height too.
Been riding 29ers for six years never going back to smaller wheels

Pedal suggestions ?
Just picked up the 2021 9.9 slash. Curious I’d suggest swapping to 32 tooth oval?

From what i've seen it comes with a trek bag with a pull tab on it. Stuff your food in that and keep the tab near the top so you don't lose anything.
