@@rolux4853 Yeah when carbon goes it goes quick. Your stem will have replaced your teeth where an alloy bar would likely bend. I wouldn't replace it annually but I absolutely would after a crash or extremely hard landing. Not that I have that kind of money, I'm fine with aluminium everything.
it's a good move if you ride hard. I also do the same with carbon bars, I typically show cracks in them at 18mo so change yearly to be on safe side. I do NOT want catastrophic failure on that part.

Since 12 speed drivetrains have such narrow chain and cogs, the width difference between shimano and sram is almost negligeable. with a bit of tuning it can work great and more people are doing it because of parts that are unavaible
shifter just cares which cassette you use. 9sp shifter with 9sp cassette, ideally same brand. They're indexed on each other. But both sram and shimano use similar spacings to cram 7/9/12 gears in, and thats why a shimano 9/12sp cassette will probably work on a sram shifter with some dialing in. The indexing is likely similar. From what i can tell; as long as the derailer can accomodate your largest sprocket in the rear, you could theoretically use any 30yr old derailer with any new shifter and cassette, and it'll work. It's just an articulated arm, nothing more.
