You installed yours backwards. For this recorder, you install the card LABEL SIDE DOWN when you are looking at the recorder screen. 2) You do NOT need to format the MicroSD card once installed. MicroSD cards come PRE-FORMATTED. 3) Use only SDHC cards no larger than 32GB. Do NOT use SDXC cards. Not all manufacturers' cards will work in this device, but I have found SanDisk and Lexar to be reliable. 4) Download and READ the owners manual before using any electronic device in the future. If you cannot find the Ussers Manual online, do not worry. It is on the device. Use the USB cable that came with your ICD-PX333 Recorder. Connect the recorder to your PC via that cable. Your PC will recognize the recorder and it will show on your file manager. (if it does not, reconnect carefully again both sides of the cable.) LOOK at the directories of your recorder. You will see FOR MAC and FOR WINDOWS Select the one that applies to you. You will then see a Help Guide. Click it. This is your owners manual. Everything you need to know is in here. one of the many things I loved about this recorder is that you can play a recording, hit record again, confirm, then start where that recording ended. unfortunately this model is discontinued. the later versions do not have this function. nor the option to display time remaining. do you know which recorders do, or what that functions called so I can research for it?
Geek Squad at Best Buy and me could not get the device to recognize the expanded memory card. Pulled another off the shelf and it had the same problem. The one I have had for years--works great.

I have a Sony ICD-MS515 audio recorder. However when I try inserting a Sony Memory Stick, it reads MEMORY STICK ERROR, even I tried formatting the memory stick on my computer to full format. However, that also did not work either. How can I fix that memory stick error? I have a problem with this.
T-mark means "track mark" - when you're recording for lets say 2 hours, but you want to create separate tracks, you press the t-mark and it manually creates a new track from that point. Otherwise you would have to stop recording, wait for it to save, then press record again to manually create a track

Take both batteries out. Wait 1 minute. Put them back in. The very first thing the recorder will do is bring up the set time and date screen. The first field that has the blinking cursor on it is the two digit year field, which starts at 2013, so press the >> key 5 times to get to 2018, then press the > play button to save it and advance the cursor to the next field. When it's gone through all the fields, it saves the settings and uses it for the name of the files you record. If you mess up one of the fields, take the batteries back out, wait 1 minutes, and then put them back in and start again.

For some unknown reason, when I connect mine to my iMacOS 10.12.6 via the cable provided, the recorder displays "Connecting" at the top of the screen indefinitely! It does the same thing with my MacBook Air. Neither Mac recognizes the recorder!
there is also Sony Sound Organizer software to edit the *.mp3 files. If you a Windows OS user. For Linux user like myself, i used parlatype to manually transcribe the audio files into Text files. (rewind, forward, pause, etc).
My dad bought one of these but can't set the time and date - I have had a quick play and neither can I! The instructions state to use the arrows and press play / stop / enter but I am flummoxed! Sorry to ask such a basic question but would appreciate any feedback on this!
If your batteries begin to corrode, put new batteries in it and stop messing around. Hell, go to the dollar store... yeah, they sell batteries there for $1... pick up an alkaline 4 pack, and put 2 in for now, and you'll have 2 waiting for later... don't be so cheap... leaving batteries that have started corroding inside the recorder is bad for the recorder no matter how you look at it...
You could but this is clearly NOT the right recorder for that purpose. It's a dictation recorder, just like the ones that used micro cassettes. It only records in MONO and uses a lossy codec with a low bitrate. Just good enough for quick voice notes but absolutely not useful for festivals. You may wanna get something else, like a digital audiorecorder like the Zoom H2n or H1. They are much better for that and allow you to record lossless audio as PCM wave files with various samplerates and bitdepths. AND they record Stereo and mono. The H2n can even be used for 5.1 recordings with it's microphones. There are some demonstrations of that recorder here on UA-cam.

This is not a phone. It has no sim card. It will take an ultra-micro SD memory card to extend the memory, but with 198 available recordings you can make it's pretty unlikely that you'll ever use it.
There's some paranormal investigators that they said have luck with PX-333 when recording and capturing EVPs. However there is a new model from Sony called ICD-PX470, which is stereo unlike the 333, that can record in wav which may be better for capturing EVPs.
the REAL paranormal I use the icd-px333 but the icd-px470 is replacing it because it has uncompressed pcm as well as mp3. I tried olympus but don't like them as much a sony.
it will show 4 bars when fully charged on the little battery icon on the display. When it gets down to 1 bar, you need to change the battery. It will say "low battery" when it gets below that, but there's no way to know just how low, low is, and when the batteries run out, it just powers down and stops working until you finally figure it out and put new batteries in.

You can't. There is no email function in this device. You need to manually transfer the contents of the folders onto your computer using a USB cable when you get home.
The SD card is facing up its supposed to be facing down 👎. I just followed your video because I had the same exact problem but after you video ended I flipped the SD card and it can see the card now.
And also I'm pretty sure that the memory has to be completely empty on the device before formatting... I may be wrong and that but I think I could be correct
Word of advice. I had mine for about 18 months I maxed out the recording life so I put in an SD micro chip but it still will not work. It says memory full even after I erased ALL files. I ended up buying a new one.
I agree with this comment, that is why I was watching this video to get more info on how to record/save data on the SD memory card. Still does not work even with the memory card, had to erase the saved recordings to be able to record again.

DO not buy this product because it has a hissing static sound that messes up with the clear voice recording. Your cellphone works better than this one because a whisper can be recorded by a cellphone and this one doesnt.
Obviously, you got a defective unit, or had the input set to the wrong setting for the kind of recording you wanted to do. These recorders normally do not have any such problem. I have owned 3 of these, and all have been crystal clear in their recordings. Setting the input to audio in, I can record whispers just fine as well, which I've done just recently to avoid being overheard by someone standing about 5 feet away, and the resulting recording was crystal clear, understandable, and perfectly fine.

Jessica Bouma I have about 4-5 voice recorders that's broke and what to get the files I want to be able to hear the files.You know how a pc gets broke and you have things on a pc but you need whatever that's on it. It's the same way I want whats on my recorders.If I can send the broke recorders to a company that can get the files off of it and put it on something to where I can hear it and make copies ??

I would think a standard class 4 card would work. Some of those new high capacity/speed cards may not.

Not sure but Amazon sells used ones for around $45. Make sure you find a price first as buying a used one maybe cheaper.
