Thanks so much for sharing your document. One thing I learned working at an art museum, is that with the guideline "art should be hung at eye level," you need to take into account whether people will be mostly sitting in the room (like in a living room), or standing in the space (like a hallway), and adjust accordingly. Just a little tip I picked up that has helped me in my own home. Generally what I see in people's homes is that the art tends to be hung too high on the walls to really be enjoyed. Thanks again for your channel!
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your Design Rules & Guidelines document with us!!! It is very detailed, answering things I wondered about, and questions I didn’t even know I had. I love your style, and Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week, to anticipate watching your new video.
Good morning Tasha, Excellent video content paired with your soft speaking voice, made it educational and relaxing at the same time. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day!🌻 💕Dee
You truly have a gift, Tasha! Thanks for sharing it with us. You make design FUN and I always learn something from you. I also enjoy the thrill of the hunt in thrift stores. Nothing beats that moment when you discover a hidden treasure. 🙌🥰
Thanks so so much for sharing your Design Rules & Guidelines document with us 🥰 It makes me wanna start a Home Decor Journal Guide ♥ Love your channel & always look forward to the next one. Best thing about your Videos is showing how you repurpose & use in your Home Decor. I also really appreciate the Simplicity of your demos. Again, Thanks ♥
Thank you for the gift of knowledge and experience with your document!! So many struggle with implementing cohesive home design no matter the budget...this makes the process so much easier.
I know I've expressed this before but I LOVE this new series. It has practical advice with illustrations to help you understand the design rules you're trying to convey. ❤
Great episode, Tasha. As an interior designer, it’s nice to see someone share and discuss many of the design concepts and basic ‘rules’ needed to create a really cohesive space.
Thank you for the master class! I loved all the tips. Also I try to decorate in groups of 3 or 2 of varying heights. I also try to mix decor vertically and horizontally instead of all one height. I haven’t displayed candle holders with no candles in them. Decor goals for me! I especially love how you encourage us to mix textures. I think that is visually pleasing to the eye and senses. I am a huge fan if Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and love incorporating nature and natural textures and silhouettes into my decor. I also love how glass can bring light and transparency into my decor. Would love to see more if these types of videos!
Well done ! Being retired from the design industry and going to many speakers on design, and speaking myself, you nailed it. Great descriptions of designs terms and examples.
Awesome Video!!!! I feel like I went to decorating class!!! So many things to learn!!! To apply to our home style!!!! It is great to know that is all about perspective & balance!!!! Thank you for sharing!!! God Bless!!!
A tip I'll share that helps me in decorating is taking a picture of a space. Somehow, looking at a picture on my phone is much more revealing than looking at it with my naked eyes. Great video, Tasha!!
As always your home is beautiful, I really enjoy watching your videos. This series has been very helpful and inspiring. Also the document of general information for home decor is very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Loving this series! Thank you for the style tips document without requiring email sign up’s; very much appreciated. One thing I’d love your thoughts on is how to store all those beautiful faux florals you’ve collected. I’m really struggling with that and have done some searching on Pinterest and Google, but what I’ve seen has been too exaggerated and designed for people that do a lot of floral crafting. I’m just looking for storage for the average person and not creating a faux floral storage wall in a craft room or something similar. I could also use some insight on storing seasonal decor. Right now I have a tub for Valentine’s Day, one for St. Patrick’s, etc. And that’s working, but I’d kind of like to move from strictly one holiday to more seasonal. So maybe cardinals and red seasonal decor that could be used for Christmas, Valentine’s and Patriotic holidays. Any insight would be appreciated. Love your style!
Very informative. I'd like to think I know alot about Interior design because it is my hobby....but I always learn something from you...the black and white photo makes complete sense and I have never done that but I plan to now. I have a spot in my dining area that always troubles me. I have a small home and dont want to over clutter. And a Curry cameo!!💗
You’re so sweet! I’m really glad you liked the black and white photo idea and hope you can figure out what's what in that pesky area. I have a few I'm working on over here 👋🏼
Hi Friend 👋 Absolutely agree on everything you've said ! I lean a bit more towards asymmetrical in my home , except for my bedroom ,I prefer that a bit more semertic.
Good topics. Per "Negative Space", the average person doesn't know of options for layouts. (Typical furniture placements put sofas or beds smack in front of windows.) Comparing layouts could be a topic sometime. 😊
As always, awesome tips! Thanks for documenting your tips and for sharing the doc, so helpful! One tip I learned a while back in graphic design school is to squint your eyes to view design elements in a different way, which is helpful for gauging balance, color, scale, etc. Your videos and design advice are solid; I've always meant to ask about your art experience... you're such a talented and passionate educator! (PS: Love how Curry closes out the video in style & with approval, lol! :-) 🐱=^._.^= 🐈 =^._.^=
Oh, I love that tip! Thanks for sharing! Curry always adds a little something haha 😺And thanks very much; I have no design or art training except what I've learned myself and a few things I picked up from graphic design coworkers. My background is in English/Writing and I have done some teaching 👍🏼 Thanks very much for watching!
Well, I think symmetry always evokes a sense of formality. However, I think you could definitely shake up the look by using unexpected colors or more unique pieces or shapes. For example, if you had a lamp on each end of a long console table, it would be symmetrical, but if you used a unique style of lamp, it would not be boring.

Ah true! I have read that. I do agree and find most of the time when you see art that's off, it's too high.
Your videos are so helpful and you have a calming voice that’s a bonus❤
Oh thank you! I really appreciate it! ☺️
