I just saw them last night. I was a young adult in the 80s and knew their music, but really didn't know him. He is a wise, warm, intelligent, compassionate, witty, accepting, and vulnerable person. He and his entourage embody diversity and acceptance without having to scream it or shove it at people. A beautiful human being. Hopefully going to do a Vegas residency.
Say what you want about him but he was super articulate, mature and quick-witted compared to this era's 22 year olds - who are the intellectual equivalent of that era's 14 year olds.

i agree! ive been watching other interviews with him and the ones with joan are the only ones ive truly seen him genuinely laugh and let her in. all the other interviewers are judgmental and give backhanded compliments. i always admired the way he handled it though!

Boy George, one of my personal heroes, blocked me on twitter after a night of defending him to a random troll... I was heartbroken, but I learned NEVER engage with trolls, and sometimes your heroes shoot you down with friendly fire.
I'm sure he did that to minimize the negativity only; not toward you personally. He is a strong, intelligent man and quite capable of defending himself if he thinks it's worth his while. Most of the time it isn't.
