Wow, I've always respected Boy George as an artist and musician....not to mention what he did for music in the 80's but after watching this...I have HUGE respect for the man!!! When he came on the scene, I think everyone was shocked because we'd never seen anything like him.. His contribution and the members Culture Club cannot be understated!!!
How compassionate and wise George is about his father and the situation they grew up in, it was a sad, difficult and complex situation and George is very compassionate and honest about it, whilst acknowledging he was violent to their mother. What a good man in George and a wonderful survivor in Dinah.
Love Love Love!!!! I`m deeply humbled by Boy George and his beautiful mother. I`ve spent quite some time, liking as much of the comments here as possible. Forgive me folks and know, in my heart you all have my likes. Experiencing all the nice thoughts you have about him and his mother and your appreciation lights up my life and touches me deeply. Despite the struggles he went through, he made it to become a grounded beautiful person touching our hearts on top of his great songs. Maybe it`s just me, but whatever interview of him I watch, I feel so much joy reading the comments, not a single one negative or mean. God bless him and all of you out there. Know that you are beautiful, beautiful as Boy George and his mother.
That’s lovely , yes there is something special about George apart from his beautiful voice he’s intelligent , sensitive ,loving, witty ,loyal , he’s a lot of things to a lot of people but I do love his relationship with his mammy, there is so much love there she was always on his side
And mom has happy character and nice attitude....first time saw her on you tube, which interviewed back date 9 years ago. Glad Boy George is back again...bless them family.
Agree. I always figured he must of had a very sweet, intelligent, funny, understanding mother. This confirms it. Boy George is so comfortable in his own skin, I knew he had to have a wonderful upbringing.
I just love to see him all the time, just this interview I find Georgies mom absolutely interesting, lovely and brave, you can totally see where his values came from and the strength too. You can totally see how strong she is now. Thank you so so much
George your Mom is such a beautiful lady and she is sweet and honest I can definitely see where you get your honesty from she is a strong willed woman she doesn't let anything stop her from doing what is right she will always be there for you no matter where you are in this world.Love You George forever and always.
Very sweet - the two of them I love George more today than back in the heyday I love how down to earth and smart she is And I love how George defended his father - shows maturity and forgiveness
His father sounds like millions of other fathers including mine. My father treated mom and my siblings bad. But we still loved him, and he had plenty of friends that loved him.
Your mom is so beautiful I see where you get it from and Boy George you always fashion with your hats and your outfits keep up doing what you're doing God bless you and your family
George obviously got his insights in life, from his mom. I knew he was always ahead of his time into deep thinking, from his song lyrics, but I did not know where his insight came from.
You put your mam through loads what with drugs etc but she was there for you 💯 % U have the best mam in the world George and she has a wonderful son in you. I always loved and admired you George. Keep it up being you and ignore your haters there jealous of what you got. Love u loads and always George
His father is a classic covert malignant narcissist. Charismatic, and smarmy to everyone publicly in order to create their false persona, but abusive at home. Decorating other peoples homes, but neglecting to decorate his own.
The blackface at 3:20 shocked me. This might have passed in the 1980s, but it is considered horribly offensive nowadays (2022). I checked the current official video of "Karma Karma Chameleon". There is no blackface shown in the current official music video. The video states it is set in Mississippi in the 1870s. The action is set by a river and on a riverboat. Presumably the original video had blackface as shown here at 3:20, and presumably the music video has been edited to remove the offensive and problematic scene. Even though blackface was regularly used in the 1870s, nobody in mainstream media these days really wants to re-enact it, re-broadcast it or re-publish it.
She was very dismissive about his success, I didn't hear her say she was proud of him, then she talks about herself and how she does not like famous people. He probably succeeded inspire of his parents.

Beautiful boy George is so gifted and humorous
I loved Boy George in the 80s but I don’t know that I realized at the time how absolutely gorgeous he was. How did I miss that? Damn. He was stunning.
I can definitely see the resemblance between Boy George and his Mother Dinah. Good looks and sense of humor.
My beautiful kind nanny was a Dublin lady miss her so much, she passed away in 1983 😊😢

Boy George needs his own talk show.
Lol he'd do all the talking. I love him!
Maybe it could be one of those commentator shows were they watch videos and make jokes about it. He would be so good at that.
I believe he had his own show or podcast, at one time.
She is adorable 🧡🧡
He is great guy boy George with his mom very good thanks

Your Mum is so lovely she’s the star 🌟 she Is a amazing 🌸she is a wonderful STRONG woman as woman do (as we do )........ 🌸🌸🌸
No such thing as a strong woman.
It’s the men that are so weak that make the woman look strong.
Wish I was half as strong as her!
He's truly a filial son
I'm not coming to Luah. So have fun. I will be here.
Dwelling on the past.George and Mum still successful and Boy George rockstar.

I was also in St Vincents Goldenbridge Industrial school, I would have known his Grandmother,
Boy George's Ma represents the BEStT of strong working women.
