- Straight to the point steps on replacing front wheel bearings on a Can Am Renegade 1000 XMR. Hardest part is removing steering knucle from upper ball joint. Use a press or bearing tool!!

I add a little lube to my bearing and press it in. I also tap mine carefully in before pressing it down all the way. Makes things easier. Also, when removing the knuckle from the axle, I remove the shock completely. Makes all sorts of room to get that axle out on the front easier.
Bearings were well froze before install. I also clean the inside of the knucle very well and a little lube as well.
Good stuff! For the guys that dont have a shop press alpine powersports sells a bearing pulling for outlander/renegade and works great. Happy trails!
Yes there a few tools/pullers available to purchase. Which do speed up the process A D NOT need to remove the knucles/trailing arms
A little bit of heat works nice also to get the ball joint
Yes that would be my next logical step if a few taps and some PBlaster didn't work!
Have you ever removed the seal on a new sealed bearing? I do it all the time. I wash out the crap grease and put in a quality grease then reseal and install.
What I have found it the grease the new bearings have is crap
I have done that on smaller bearings for snowmobiles.
With these large wheel bearings it definitely helps to have enough grease to start with.

Litterally came just to see how you got the snap ring out as it's not double pointed on either side so my ring pliers wouldn't grab correctly but you didn't really show how. Although I did get a major laugh out of how you said the most simple thing can be a pain in the ass... plus the beer sippin' had me fucking dying. Thanks bud.
Investing in a quality set of snap ring pliers helps a lot. Also the bigger the snap ring, the more force is required to squeeze them. Another tip is to be mindful that if pliers slip, the snap ring can go flying. Most snap rings are beveled on one side. Pay attention when removing.
Always buy OEM wheel bearings. Always. 😎😎

Yep I have one. Need to grease them more often I guess!
Barely any play! Didn't even need to be changed....plenty of life left on er!
You must be on a different preventative maintenance program than me!
