  • So I was over at my buddy No touch Timmy’s and he has a 2013 maverick 1000 . it needed a new wheel bearing. Most the time he doesn’t let me touch anything in the shop , but even I taught this old dog some tricks. He tried not to listen to me but he had no choice....... he couldn’t get his ball joint out till I showed him. So if you have a can am side-by-side and you need to change a wheel bearing it’s probably the same!! Hopefully you enjoy the video God bless and have a great day.

I didn't read all the replies but if you do another bearing job put the bearing in the freezer overnight and it will go in pretty easy . Great video !!! Got 1 on my commander needing done so will do both. Thanks again .

I recently purchased a 2014 Maverick Max...and the left front axle nut keeps backing off and sheering the cotter pin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Installed new cv axles on both sides.. I can't figure it out.

It’s just a guess I’ve never seen that problem before try using Loctite , Also the proper torque would probably help as well and it’s a possibility that the lock washer is missing that’s just off the top of my head I hope something helps you out there brother

Any idea where I can find just a snap ring for these? New bearing didn’t come with one and the old one is obliterated

I’d be willing to bet that you can just mic out the size of the snap ring that you need and get one from the local hardware store.

What is your rim and tire sizes? Do you have problems with tire hiting the plastic in the rear. And the off set of the rimes? Thank you for the video

Hey Anthony unfortunately that was my friend Tim’s side-by-side so I texted him your question and this was his response.
“Don’t go over one size bigger than factory size tire or you will tear up factory clutch.”
I wish I could be of more help with all the other information that you’re asking about but I don’t wanna steer you in the wrong Direction

My bearing came with a seal, did you use the seal or just put the new bearing in the housing

Do you remember what the torque spec was for the wheel bearing nut? I have the same year and model

Do you know the size of the nut?

My guess would be about 120 foot pounds, you can look up the torque specs for the nut and that will tell you what they’re supposed to be if you can’t find the factory torque specs
