this reminds me of how while falling towards a platform, you can use an aerial, fast fall, L cancel, and use the lag from those actions to meanwhile position your control stick in the correct place for an easy, immediate follow up shield drop with no risk of accidentally rolling, spotdodging, etc
Just to clarify, when I say tap jump, I mean that you can buffer tap jump and in the same instances, using X or Y, you will NOT be able to buffer a jump.
I started getting into Maylay, and this is a real issue for post Melee players that always relied on removing Tap Jump, and let alone in Ultimate where you can even change sensitivity.
Yeah agreed it’s really only good for marth, shiek, Falco, Fox, Ice Climbers, DK, Mario, Luigi, Mew2, Jiggly Puff, Kirby, Yoshi, GnW, Samus, Roy, Dr Mario, Link, and Young Link Yes Even Falcon
@@harpot678 because I said I practiced lol? I don't know how sensitive you gotta be to read me talking about being new, practicing, and getting better then take it as some sort of attack. If people want to play melee and get a little better in the process, do a little solo practice, sorry if it's hard to hear
I'm an ult player so I'm very used to no tap jump. It's not like it's asking for much either you've got mfers on a boxx who Don't have to deal with it why should I?
tap jump actually does have a buffer, so if you do this method you need to start holding up more than 4 frames before you are actionable to jump

Just wanna point out some buffers apply and specifically to tap jump. IIRC tap jump has a 4 frame buffer out of shield stun.

Thanks man, i would need to learn this on keyboard too tho
Why no buffer is good, actually

As a marth main coming from Ultimate/smash 4.... Uptilt is actually really hard for me!
if they (players of other smash titles)can do tilts instead of smash attacks, or walk consistently they should be able to up tilt lol??
I feel like this works great for marth but not great for some other characters

Yes Even Falcon
!practice
Seriously. I came from smash 4, grinded a little and it wasn't a problem after a day
@@_Majunior Damn bro, what a welcoming attitude to newcomers who are intimidated by this specific aspect of the game.

Or play boxx/keyboard
When someone tells me they can’t get into melee because of tap jump, I stop listening to them.
Why?

i just want to turn off tap jump cause i have so much snap back i keep getting random double jumps
