  • Exploring a Really Old Abandoned House in Ontario Canada
This is a very old abandoned house in Ontario Canada that is a very popular spot amongst Ontario explorers and abandoned enthusiasts.
    Photo Gallery: www.freaktogra...
With its faded wood exterior, broken windows and general creepy exterior, it makes for a great roadside stop to explore!
Here is a look at the inside of the house!

In 1984 my uncles came to florida and picked us up. This house is the house one of my aunt and uncles lived in back then. We spent weekends here. There use to be a barn in the back with a hay loft. We would often play around in the hay loft of that barn. Somewhere we actually have pictures with this house in the back ground.

I have always adored this house, it has always fascinated me with all the stories I had been told. My grandparents actually still live to the left of this house they have for many many years. They have gotten to watch it go from a thriving home to an abandoned house of art. There are many many hidden areas in this house that would surprise you. Special hallways and cubbies that you can use to sneak from room to room! I have always wanted to do a little photography of this place and see what unique things I could find. Your tour through the house has given me a few ideas!

I bet that was a beautiful house at one time. Especially that darker wood and all the windows. Bet it would be nice fixed back up as well. Stay Safe.

Thank you Freaktography, this video brings back memories from the 50s when my grandpa was alive. He had almost the same layout house but single floor and he actually lived in a house that was falling apart like that from the outside but not as bad on the inside. That was really cool seeing that!!

My favorite part of these old abandoned homes are the trim around the doors, the floors, windows and entry ways and also the staircases, banisters. Glad you got out of there quickly! Dont go back in that one. Cant believe you put that crib back together. Haha

Love this place. So glad the original wood work is still in place and it looks amazing. Also happy to see just natural decay. I am afraid of heights, so you gave me a near heart attack standing and looking down those stairs. I had to look away for that part. I appreciate your efforts of going out and exploring. Trust your judgement, and, as always, stay safe. Thanks for sharing.

The house looks sturdy from the outside. If it's painted and with a little touch up, it will look like any normal livable house. But the inside, is a different sight. The house is rotting and in decay. The house looks like it's dying and gasping for it's last breath. It does not look safe at all. The flooring in the second and third floor looks fragile, and waiting to collapse. With the stair barristers gone, it makes climbing the stairs perilous. Nevertheless, with most parts of the house in derelict, there are remnants of beauty that can be seen throughout the house. From the large glass windows at the foyer, wooden doors with wood paneling and the beautiful staircase, although damaged, much about the background and the house existence remain secluded in secret. Thanks Dave.

I lived down the street from this house and was in it for the last time in 2010 (ish LOL).. The floor in the kitchen has been replaced with plywood since then(it was just a big hole), and the stained glass from the front door is gone. All the mattresses are for Migrant workers (Mennonites from Mexico in this area) though I have not see anyone staying in the house, I have seen trailers in the yard. I have always liked this lonely house that is full of character, and it was lovely in its day! You would have loved the banister and railings that are now MIA.. Nice explore.. :)

In a house like this, the old woodwork is very nice, that can tell you a lot about the original owner they were relatively wealthy and made the formal rooms in their home show it, like the front parlours and the staircase, it would be cool to see a house like this back in it’s prime.
We would think this house is very simple but back in the day it would’ve been a mansion.
I would think the centre of the house is most likely original and as the family grew the house got larger.
I think that small closet on the main floor at 4:26 that was walled off, it may have been a second staircase, but I think that shower backed into it so probably as the owners got older they took out the second staircase and put a shower in, also if you look for that shower is you can see the remnants of a staircase.

Back in those days they plastered the walls as they didn’t have drywall !usually would have a board close to ceiling to hand frames from because if you tried to pound a nail in plaster it could crack.

There is type of moulding you can buy that goes at the top of a wall and it is designed to hang pictures and paintings from so you don't have to nail into the wall. The Biltmore has that type of moulding.

I'd be hugging the frigging walls, coming down those stairs.... that room at landing at the top of the stairs looks like what use to be known as an attic room on the second floor, that usually went out over what was called the back kitchen, or summer kitchen.... where you would have a wood stove or open hearth fireplace, so you could still cook and you could close off the main part of the house and keep it cooler that way in the summer.

Was in this house about a year and a half ago! It was beautiful, looks like it’s only gotten worse, when I was in it the floors were safe enough to walk on expect for the back room where you said you wouldn’t go from the back of the house. The stairs are the most sturdy thing in the house too lol, unfortunate that people go in a wreak places like this. There is more down the road that are beautiful inside as well, if your ever down that way again I have the addresses ! :)

I finally found this place, and it's cool next door neighbor, a couple years ago. Took lots of exterior shots from all around the property line first, then a bit closer in. By the time I even considered getting near the house, the owners showed up and ended that pretty quickly. Interior shots are great, but I love the exterior shots more.

@@Freaktography The story goes, as I understand it that this place was once occupied by Jacob Neudorf, who was an Old Colony minister from Manitoba. He and his wife raised a family of 3 and It is unclear whether Neudorf initiated this contact or whether he was sent by the Old Colony Church in Manitoba after it had received a letter from the group in Ontario asking for assistance. Neudorf continued to make periodic visits to Ontario to preach until 1965 when his evangelical intentions made him unwelcome in the Old Colony Church. The house got abandoned in 1965 when Jacob died of heart issues.
It's also unknown where or what happened to the rest of the family.
