    Good feedback on the wife. I also been married 13 years, she supports me & my love for the Adirondacks & the outdoors. We have a son & he is 5 years old, my age is 43. My son has autism & the bond we have together is really built on our hikes together. He talks a little but not much, but in the woods we have a great time just exploring, being two kids! LOL watching your videos at the end of the day, planning my trips out in the woods, well it makes me happy & find a peaceful mind before bed. Yo

    Thank you my brother. I really appreciate your comments. Also that is a terrific idea with the hoodie! I am going to do that the next time I'm out. How long ago was it that you were at Appalachian Ski Mountain? By the way, I've got a new 'Cold' video coming up. Should be online some time tomorrow. Take care of yourself my friend.

    My son watches Netflix and UA-cam and I watch UA-cam, read a lot, and play a game on my phone and tablet, and check out my Facebook for family photos and news. I also have a few UA-camr sites, including yours, on there. Catching up on your videos from as far back as I can go. Love your camp food reviews. Also your mail call videos. You all are always so appreciative of anything you get, even just letters. You are all one of my favorites.

    Hi Luke...I am so glad I came across your channel. I just love your videos....I pretend that I’m right there with you enjoying the campfires and the meals and COFFEE! I was always a country girl,like the saying goes you can take the girl from the country...but you can’t take the country away from the girl. I love to read early history on how our country was first settled,and all the things good and bad they had to go through.Luke your fire was beautiful. I love to hear all your stories around the campfire and you Q&A time! I know what you mean to find a partner who loves the great outdoors as you do. You and Susan are a wonderful couple and truly belong together. Well till the next video...take care. ❤️👍👀

    Thanks pal. As for packs; man I've got a lot of different ones. Ranging from NF to Osprey to Gregory to military systems and they all have a special place in my heart. External Frames are great especially if you carry really heavy loads. Internal Frames are usually much lighter and that is what I like. You can get most packs in S, M, and Large so you could get something that fits correctly.
    Let me know if you have any questions mate. Take care.

    I know this is an older video but you are one of a very few that I have seen on a bush craft/camping channel to feed limps into a fire as they burn. In most cases this is a much easier and quicker way to sustain a fire plus you exert less effort which can be used for other camp chores. Well done and I am enjoying your videos.

    You could melt snow if you don't have any other alternative but it takes a lot of snow and it's a longer process. If you are going to melt snow, here is some advice. Always start out with a little water in the pot/pan before throwing snow in. That way the heat conducts better and the snow will melt faster than if you just throw snow into an empty pan.

  • @TheOutdoorGearReview
    @TheOutdoorGearReview  11 років тому

    I've never had a problem with a forest ranger. Unless there is a fire ban due to drought we can have a fire any time of year. We can also camp anywhere we like as long as we are 100feet from the road.
    Regarding tents; You're right; it was expensive but with the higher price usually comes a big decrease in weight. For me that's important if I'm hiking around. I broke my spine when I was in High School so going heavy doesn't normally work for me. Take care.
