I continue to be awestruck as to how much walking back and forth Luke does in his filming. That is a crazy amount of "lost" time just to reach a campsite. Great work brother!
Subscriber here. Another great video, Luke. This Christmas I did a northern stealth camp on what was supposed to be the "warmest" night of my trip, -14F. It ended up being -25F with gusting winds and a wind chill of -40. Gear: Integral Designs Observer bivy tent; US Military Sleep System (which I can vouch is optimistically temp-rated to -50 but is nowhere near that); two sleeping pads: Slumberjack self-inflating and Therm-a-Rest Ridgerest solar; two pair longjohns; two Smartwool long-sleeve jerseys; Columbia heat-reflective pants; two pair wool socks; wool cap; IceArmor mittens. Went in the tent at 9 p.m., was warm until 1:00 a.m., then had to put on light Merrill down puff jacket; 3:00 a.m. was longing for my Eddie Bauer heavy down parka, but it was way back in the car. Shivered until 6:30 a.m., but not too, too badly. My feet stayed warm in the footbox, head and hands warm, but hips and upper body chilled. Glad I did it, though. Loads of fun!
The respect you showed to the Owl shows how much you love the forest and is just another reason I love your channel. Keep it going good sir keep it going!
You give off such great positive energy. You have really gave me will to get out and camp. I'm 45 and a IT Sys Admin. Thank you for being you brother. I try to give credit where credit is due. You my friend, deserve much credit. May God bless you!
Make sure you have a full tank of gas. My son says I’m hooked on your shows. I probably am but I watch other woodsy adventures. You and one other guys are my favorites. I try not to miss any of your shows. I watch them on UA-cam.
That was a awesome trip! I’m actually wanting to start doing some solo camping adventures. I think u really hit the nail on the head about getting away and enjoying life the way it should be. I think we forget about it at times and need to remember the lil things in life. Great video!
Great video, thanks for the adventure. I just love Your videos and reviews, they are very inspirational - this definately made me want to do stealth camping
I am really liking this old video, I love how you told us everything and even the phone calls and messages, you don't do that now that I have ever noticed.
How Awesome was this video!!! I absolutely love the barred owl. You're right, getting out and doing this kind of stuff makes memories that last a lifetime. My wife said she seen some shoes that look like your walking the other way..haaha. It wouldn't work for me. She found me last year in the snow.
Awesome Owl! Always enjoy watching your overnight adventures. I remember using the sleeping pad during basic service. It doubled as a back pad in the frameless army backpack. Greetings from Germany!
100% real. Luke your adventures are so amazing, you capture some of the most spectacular views. Thanks very much I am always looking for amazing videos from you.
AMAZING video: it takes me back to the earlier days of the Nutnfancy channel when he was younger and would chronicle his backpacking adventures. Thanks for doing this: very fun!!
I've learnt so much from watching your videos.. Thanks so much! I'm stuck at home at the moment having had my second knee replaced but you have really motivated me to get out into the outdoors and camp when I am back to health.. keep up the great work and stay safe
Absolutely loved it brother man. This was so much fun. You do have a Guardian my friend. Plus, that bobcat was totally awesome. We just watched this and we are now headed out to do a little stealth camping of our own.. what a coincidence.. or is it. Lol. Take care man Shane
Your 'big kid' enthusiasm is awesome. You make camping out in weather most folk would stay home in look so much fun. Great videos my friend. Peace and love from the UK.
Would just like to say, 3 minutes into this video I paused.... And went straight to Amazon and typed in sunjack light stick...OMG..I could see my house! Nice vid...love the wildlife, good tent choice and seeing ur breath in tent made me cold...lol
Luke you continue to amaze me i learned alot from you my friend especially about stealth camping everything about winter camping what clothes to wear and i bought the mountain dinners thanks so much my man love your videos
That was awesome! Next, how about super luxury car camping with your wife? I would love to see you guys attempt pizza in one of those campfire ovens! Thanks for the ride 😀
This is the second time I've watched your video and it was just as enjoyable. Great stuff, Luke! Count me in on more, more, more Moose and guns videos!
Luke the owl following you throughout the adventure is one of the coolest things I've seen, how awesome is that? so happy for you that you got to experience it in person :-)
Great videos. I've wilderness canoe camped in northern Ontario and Quebec. Brings back memories of many adventures. Moose in the morning, beer scat on the trails. Using a topo map and compass to not get lost. Thanks so much for these awesome videos
Stealth camping is something I've never done, never had a reason to. winter camping is out to, i grew up working in that, before all the good clothes they have now. you do make great videos, keep them coming.
Another great video Luke, always enjoy your genuine enthusiasm , by the way the owl was saying welcome to the forest, the deer were checking you out and the bob cat was telling you its time for you to go ha ha. Atb Bill.
Awesome video Luke! Love your overnight adventures. Just wish you could have made a fire, because of the extreme cold. Can’t wait for more of these adventures. I would really like to see you do one in the deep deep woods soon. Thanks for all of your knowledge!!
Luke, Interesting Video. I say this because I have never Stealth Camped. All of my Camping has been in Deep Woods Areas where no one in their right mind goes. (This includes State and National Parks.) Because of this I have never worried about having a Fire. Your Kit on this Camp was great. I like the idea of a Bivy inside the unfloored Tent. (I'm going to have to get all new Gear when I move north again.) The only problems I have with your Kit is you choice of Stove. This is because I, like everyone else has their favorite Stoves. (Mine are the Svea 123, Esbit Pocket and the Trangia Alcohol Stove.) As I was taught, Boots in the foot of the Sleeping Bag. (Brrrrr.) Coat inside the Sleeping Bag as a Pillow. Pants and Shirt inside the Sleeping Bag alongside you along with a pair of Long Johns. (Change Long Johns when you get up and when you go to Bed.) 2 Pairs of Socks around your Neck when Hiking so you can change them out. Ed
You all prolly dont care but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Damian Rex Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Barred Owl. Length 21". Wingspan 42". Weight 1.6 lbs. Mostly nocturnal. Call : "who cooks for you, who cooks for you all", ending with descending and rolling hooaaaaw note. Note from Sibley Birds.
Absolute an "O.G.R." Overnight Classic! Thanks much for this one, Luke. Things continue to be tremendously difficult for me these days, and this adventure was just what the doctor ordered... Strength & Honor. ~D. S.
