James Brown sang "Say it loud, I'm Black and I'm proud". Few Blacks had ever heard that before. God bless his soul. RIP James Brown

dr west is an amazing form of poise and profound appearance of that faith in all of us even amidst the unfilled vision of unity we need only keep being here gathered to gather to be one nation under god and to realize the dignity that our truths find together sharing and honoring the needs of all to be the privilegedthe needs of all to hold together

Absolutely the first man I paid full attention to and loved what he did as a leader of a band, a moving grooving sex machine. Always wanted to be him. The soul that gave us all "I'm black and I am proud." I will never forget visiting his house which was in Queens right near my family's home. Neighbors!

Awesome lecture! This is great news for all men, be their skin one color or another. Once America and the world can take these ideas to heart and struggle with the great questions of life like so many intelligent people have in the past, we will see some very positive changes in our world. The day will come.

The world is crazy. The stolen black people in America are hardly charged despite what they went through for a 400 years. I'm a born and raised African. When I was in Africa over 30 years ago the black music from America was familiar. It was like a relative who lives far away is trying to communicate with a language we Africans understood. To us the Africans, James Brown records were messages from long lost relatives. Bob Marley was another one. Stevie Wonder also did the same thing. In 1989 I came to New York for the first time. I never been out of Africa before. Immediately my guide took me to Harlem. I swear I felt the energy of the past black souls who were forced into American slavery. The extremely tall buildings with burned scars fascinated my curiosity. I had to ask the guide of what happened to these buildings? He said black people rioted in Harlem in the 50s 60s and in the 1970s. He said they sat these buildings. White musicians couldn't talk to our souls.

Who is James Brown? You think to call him genius? Perhaps you dont know the meaning of the word genius? But of course you have the right to overdo it - we laugh! Also a clown can be a genius!
