Most Jamaican singers of the 60s and 70s wanted to sound like Curtis Mayfield and the harmony groups fashioned themselves around Curtis Mayfield's Impressions. Excitingly the sound they brewed were novelty nuggets and synonymous with nothing else but Jamaica still.
