  • You can use a simple rubber band, cassette player belt, or even a women's hairband. They all work great, and the more flexible the band the lesser vibration will transfer to the Mic.

    Honestly, this helped me out so much. I was getting into voice audio books and as a total newbie, I guess I was trying to optimize my set up and somehow these belts came off. I couldn't get a straight mic and the mic rattled when there was minimal movement. After watching this and some patience on my end, I was able to bring this baby back to life. You've struck life back into a fire. Thank you

    Try pony-tail hair ties from the supermarket, cheap and easily sourced. Can be a little tight in large cradles.
    If storing a cradle for lengthy period it ts always a good idea to partially dismantle to relieve tension, or the bands will lose elasticity.

    thank you very much! ive been putting it off for a long time and finally was tired of the microphone just sitting in the holder lol

    Thank you, I had just a typical USB streamer mic and these instructions really helped me.... Thank you for the simple but informative information.... Just a side note, I think these type of suspension mic holders are "Way over the top" for most applications.... I never saw these on the Beatles recordings or on other mics but Neumann mics in the 80s and 90s,
    I think it is more important to isolate the mic stand in the studio, or put a carpet underneath... For your typical streaming, you-tuber, this is so much over the top.... Just a simple clamp
    which these all have, but with out all the "Strings attached".... is the way to go.... Thanks again, subscribed....

      Thanks for your subscription. I agree this is the ultimate solution for isolation from exterior vibrations. Even in advanced recording studios they use these types.

    Hi, thanks, but is there an alternative to this like a large mic holder normally used on sm58? I find that the elastic belts do not secure the mic. thanks

    Will you start using the TZ again?

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  2 роки тому

      No, because it picks up a lot of computer Fan Noise. I have a very powerful PC and although I have the quietest fan there is, it is still too noisy for a quiet room. The Shotgun microphone is a directional mic, and it cancels out the side noises.

      @@m.d.taverner616 The shotgun microphone is above my head pointing to my mount from about 15 inches away, and it's intentionally hidden from the camera's view.
