Thank you! The pencils part didn't work for me, but everything else did and I managed to hold on and get it done. Wouldn't have known how to do it without you.
I was losing my mind trying to follow other videos and finally found this style shock mount (mine has no labeling or brand) in this video. Such a great walkthrough and amazing tip with the pencils.
I’m an intern at a studio that has this mic. We use it a lot on guitars, but our shockmount came apart so I had to resort to restringing it. I cannot thank you guys enough for having a tutorial on this. It did take me multiple tries, but I eventually got it, especially because I kept going back to this video to go step-by-step in restringing our shockmount. You guys are a godsend, and I continue to be a fan of your mics.
Thank you so much for this. The previous tutorial was impossible to follow and led to me having to use an alternative mic. This is great, I re-strung my shock mount in minutes. Hugely helpful & great to have my mic back!
I appreciate this mic and this tutorial, but this is seriously the dumbest mounting setup ever. plz make a regular shock mount for all mics moving forward
I'm sorry but this design is absurd. No one has time in a busy session to learn and then repeat restringing a microphone shockmount. Also, what do you do if the strings break or get lost? Over 100 years of microphones being around and the world does not need a new design...it needs one that works...
If you need replacement bands, email us with your address. You are welcome to send it in for restringing. FYI - our friends at Royer Labs make an amazing shock-mount that fits our LDCs: royerlabs.com/accessories/sling-shock/ This is the model: Sling-Shock RSM-SS251
This may be the most important video on UA-cam....
lol

This makes us so happy! We had a previous video that we actually got hate mail on (too fast, annoying music) so we made this one. Glad it helps!

STILL too hard. I snapped a band. I'm sorry but this is just a piss poor design. :/
