The spin jump wasn't originally in TR1 so it's not needed anywhere, it was added in TR2. The remasters added the spin jump to TR1, it's most useful in combat for keeping enemies in front of Lara while bouncing around.
I never knew that! Thank you
It also makes a jump a lot more consistent in Egypt where you slide and jump towards a bridge, right before one of the rooms with a centaur + ankh. You can slide backwards, grab the ledge and immediately jump + spin + grab
9:45 Oh here it is
0:54 Tomb Raider Chronicles
Your mum has excellent taste and her opinion is spot on 👏
Welcome to the TR community, Raider.
Couple things:
Peru not Nepal
Tomb Raider I-III Remastered and Tomb Raider HD Collection are completely different releases. You’re playing the former not the latter.
Your memory is serving you right, just piecing together moments from different games.
Also, way to diss Greece, the most highly regarded level in the entire franchise 🤣😅
Fun fact, I like the game because of my memory of my mom playing it too! She still loves to watch me play today ❤️
im happy to be part of the community! TR really is a banger.
Yeah watching the video back and hearing me say Peru is making me cringe a little but I have a good reason!
I recently played TR Legend and started TR anniversary. My brain defaulted to saying Peru because of legend and I messed up the shotgun placement due to anniversary as you get the shotgun after beating Larson. Also why I called it the HD collection and not Remastered. I think I played too much TR in a short period and mixed everything up.
I need to play Greece again, I really didn't vibe with it the first time around.
I loved the HOMM2 music ❤️❤️❤️
I played them as a kid on original release, and recently played remaster. Ooof did NOT remember how crude the cut scenes looked!
The thing is, the original cutscenes weren't that bad before. Somehow the files were just downgraded. I remember when I bought the Steam version and they looked awful and I didn't know why. They were grainy (much more than in the 'classic' mode of the Remaster) and I had to look for someone that upscaled them to look better. But in the original playstation disc, the cutscenes are good (better than this 'remaster' version's), but apparently they don't translate well on 4k tvs and all that and quality was lost over time. This isn't nostalgia talking, because I kept my original PS1 and played this game for years after and when I saw these ported versions I was surprised by how bad they look.
I love the tank controls, played the remaster with them
Honestly they add so much to a game. The different control scheme is so much more engaging
From my interpretation of the dragon coming out of a portal image, it looks like its the 3 gargoyle heads from Tomb Raider Chronicles
I threw it together in 30 seconds from a childs memory 😭😂😂 let's see how close we are when I get to chronicles
Tomb Raider: Anniversary feels like the exact opposite with an enjoyable Greece and a tedious Egypt.
I started anniversary! Haven't played much yet but looking forward to seeing the differences.
6:50 you find the shotgun first in the T rex level. There are also an achievement for it.
Ahhh I missed that! I actually skipped most of Peru in this playthrough as I started playing it on the PC just before the game was announced. Didn't want to play the same section again
@2:12 The caves in Peru, not Nepal.
my mistake, unsure why I said Nepal 😂
Did the skateboarding 90s kid influence Fat Man in MGS2?
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if kojoma was inspired by tomb raider it's huge
I only played MGS2 Master Collection a few weeks before TR1 Remaster and thought the same. Seemed to be an appealing concept back then.
