Finally, another use for Terminus Est. Also people have been underestimating Zerk all damn league, it's nice to see it front and center considering it's a total sleeper hit.
Its glass-cannon. Even playing sc i dont like dying much

I'm currently in the process of playing through every leaguestarter character i can find so that i'd not be stuck in a "uhh what do i go for what do i go for uhh alright another miner" before the next league :D. Will definitely check this one out.
I subbed the moment you brought up this sword. I've always used it for my early league builds and i've always felt it is so underrated for something with so much base crit chance.
My favorite weapn after voidforge.
really like the notes section. A more detailed leveling section on the vids or in PoB would be great. For example what weapons to use (and/or how to craft them) while you level before getting to terminus/scaeva and other toward end game would be helpful.
I really like when a build is good with low investment that means it works really well by itself without depending too much on other stuff. Even If I can slap lots of exalts into a build if I need to put lots of Ex just to make it work or feel good for my standards that's dissapointing. You showcased a really good build.
his build is one of the easiest build to make. Even a -15 chest is not that hard making. However scalling wise, keep in mind that if you have the reduced mana cost on torso you miss the oportunity for making a pop/crit chest. Tho the ceiling is not that great for clearspeed. It's well rounded all map/boss content proof, nothing stellar for farm speed, monolith farming or delving.
Just play cyclone and you don't need investment to feel great.... cyclone is and was already OP in the past.
That's a very in depth video, you really know the game inside and out.
My initial comment was some toxic shit about nearly dying to shaper trash mobs, but this guide is very well made. Nice job.

Thanks for the build I'm level 89 5.1k life now. Started build with 8c sword, 1-2c rings, 1c belt, 5c gloves, 5c helm, and 12c tabula. Bought 1ex -15 mana 6link chest, and today 3.2ex awakened brutality.
Looking forward to the expensive dual wield version. I'm planning on making an expensive build with flicker/blade flurry, probably using slayer, but would like a build guide to make sure I'm not fumbling around in the dark.
Good thing you made this build I was honestly gonna quit the league after making 6 characters and not really feeling them. My league start miner was too strong and made everything else seem like trash. Did the CoC with 1 cospri but it sucked, great clear, terrible defense, impossible to do meta-morphs with budget setup.
Again thanks for the build guide it gives me confidence in melee.

How much of an upgrade would awakened brutality be?
@@sebastianfernandez10 For my char a lvl 1 awakened brutality only gives 23k more dmg than a 20/20 brutality. You can check this yourself by going on don's PoB and swaping in the gem. It is not a worthwhile upgrade, but I'm saving for a phys flicker strike build using The Savior, so I have a few ex laying around. When i get enough for a Savior and other items I'll just sell the Awakened Brutality since it's price has flat lined at this low 3.4-3.4ex range. If anything I can sell it back for what it cost me or I can make a small profit while slightly boosting my damage.
@@sul4509 did you find a guide for flicker? I also wanted to try it out before frost blades but couldn't find a good guide and also i think it requires a lot of investment. I'm also looking forward to the dual wield version
@@sebastianfernandez10 It's gonna take a qua-fckton of currency to get flicker strike to compete with other meta sht. Had some people come in for trades wearing 127ex+ worth of flicker gear. It seems like The Savior really make flicker viable now just headhunter level expensive.

On another note, tried Sirus for the first time today and failed it xdd fml. I should have watched the guide on how to fight him xD. Got him to 20-25% hp should have waited for better internets.

Might mention that starforge also shocks so it probably is a bit better than Terminus est.
In order to apply decent shocks you need large hard hits. Since cyclone attacks very fast and not very hard you won't be shocking for much.
I slightly modified the tree but something that is really working for me is the steadfast cluster that along with rampart bumps the effect of fortify to +50%, with an additional +10% while stationary. If my numbers are correct this should bring the fortify damage mitigation from 20% to 30%, basically instead of cutting a fifth of the damage taken, you cut almost a third, without defenses from gear, so it works with a tabula rasa, it seems a nice defensive option to push into red maps with cheap gear.
Yeah since you'd rarely be stationary i somewhat count this as a too high cost node (for SC) for what you get out of it, esp if youre 100%'ing the wheel
@@DonTheCrown I can see that, you need 6 points that for now I cut from dazzling strikes, connecting to the the ranger from art of the gladiator straight to finesse, that way I even get more int; definitely more of a personal choice than an improvement.

if you take smashing strikes on your neck for a passive, you gain endurance charges on crit regardless of what weapon you use. it also takes cheap oils to do.
yeah true, but you lose too much for some endurance charge generation

Excellent work! This continues to be a great budget league starter build. I modified a prior version a couple leagues back to work for a Glacial Hammer Zerker dual wielding Frostbreaths (it froze everything and laid waste to whole civilizations). Consider the following tweaks with improved pathing: pastebin.com/Pjmrt1t3
[Quick summary for those who don't want to hunt through the PoB for what's different: Due to path changes, I swapped out the belt abyssal jewel for one with a similar cost but more relevant to the build, anointed Blade Master in place of Titanic Impacts, and swapped Acrobatics for Iron Reflexes. The changes lose ~100 hp and dodge chance from Acrobatics, but give a good boost to crit chance , +1 AoE, and 100% hit chance. This results in increased damage (+ ~270K) and armor (+6000 = +19% phys red). ]

It would be nice to include the end game gear for the build. At this stage of the league its normal to have at least a couple+ exalteds free to spend in a second+ build, still nice to SC its potential.

I wanted to play a melee build but couldnt find the one that melts content, im 84 now and melting everything i tried tier 7 maps( highest i tried so far ) are a joke as of now thanks alot for this great build. I changed the skill tree abit with crimson dance and sword and melee crits from left instead of right side of tree also getting some poison chance and poison from jewels, and mana leech comes from ring.

I really like this build and this is the most fun I've ever had in a melee build. I'm only on level 47 but can you please update this for 3.10 or possibly give some tips on which cluster jewels to take? I was wondering if you could possibly lose some of the travel points and take some cluster jewel passives.

I double corrupted my saviour and got RT and %phys but since the accuracy change i feel RT is inferior to crit builds. Any thoughts?

That savior is a dead item now. Reflection is triggered when you equip the sword. But to spawn the mirror warrior you need to crit. Which, thanks to RT, you can now never achieve.

Noob here, first build on poe -- could I ask a Q? How do you use 5c to get yourself some great "rolls" on the Terminus Est stats? Search a bit but only found Divine Orbs which seem expensive.
Im talking about using the trading market www.pathofexile.com/trade to buy good rolls from other players, not roll yourself

Any tips on how to boost dps once you got a good amount of currency?
This build looks similar to bladestorm high block gladiator, how does it compare? MAx hp looks a bit low for metamorph bosses. Can get 1-shotted often.
do you think this will work on any of the duelist ascendancies? i just remember dying so many times playing frostblades zerker 3.8(my 2nd league ever- played frostblades raider in 3.7 and didn't die a lot) I literally got stuck at lvl 91 playing the zerker version so I was just wondering since I was planning to leaguestart with a terminus est since it's cheap and then respeccing into a bladeflurry or vaal double strike or flicker strike char

How do you feel about swapping your rare gloves for oskarms? cheap and it frees up cwdt for another skill that can save u.
oskanr has low life, low res, no attack speed and no flat phys. Since the Immortal Call nerfs, CWDT is better with curses, and a rare glove can boost your dps by a lot.
Did you factor in the fact that Starforge shocks though?
totally true, however at budget level gear the shocks aren't that big and I think that frenzies + the movespeed on the sword help you manage mechanics/dodging crap a lot more than some small shock (which we arent scaling at all)
@@DonTheCrown True, I was just mainly saying something for the sake of math. I started cyclone with a terminus est, then rerolled into cyclone with facebreakers. Facebreakers gets pretty nutty.

@@Anesthesia90 With a lot more investment yeah, but if you are trying to stay budget, Terminus is really good. I also go champion, not Berserker.

TBH I think that conqs are way harder than awakener himself. Don't know why, at the same awakening level i die way more frequently vs them than vs Sirius,
Maybe you could use oni-goroshi for more damage if you really want to as long as you are willing to spend around 10 hours you can get a really strong 1h(functions like 2h but buffs from 1h skills and things) 6l weapon for free (think the cheapest it goes is around 2 exalts so you could buy it but it will be harder for new people) but the dot effect might be really bad for a zerk build depends what other stats you have and what life regen or life leech is like, otherwise a weapon around 400 pDPS is enough to play all the game content, obviously more is better is possible but at a minimum I would say aim for a weapon with 400 pDPS which in this case Terminus Est is really good and people can acquire it easily.
I've had several league starts where I make it to red maps before any of the multiple oni farmers get their swords. This league where for like an hour when act 6 could accidentally drop oni was the only time I've considered using it. Even then Oni doesn't really work with impale so scaling it on a shoestring budget is harder

@@DonTheCrown I have a pretty close to identical build except for the armor because I'm still on tabula. What do you suggest that I do? Replace the rings on your PoB with - mana cost ones? and then a rare chest piece with HP etc?

This build looks great, how is the survivability though? Zerker always deters me as they seem rather Squishy.
The degen is noticable only on no or low regen maps and the fort nodes make you feel more tanky

yeah different builds have different breakpoints of investment where they start to take off

What about "your physical damage can shock" on Starforge. If you count it in It actually buffs up your dps by about 50% comparing to terminus est (in my PoB Terminus 3x frenzy 1,8 mln dps went to 2,6 with starforge no frenzy but shocked - ofc shaper dps). Any thoughts on that/anybody?, and that +90-100 maximum life feels like a sweet cherry on top.
that's not really how shock works at all, you're extremely unlikely to hit a 'full' shock check my shock video for more info
@@DonTheCrown Thx, watched it, and I must say (if the outdated data/info still holds somewhat), it probably saved me some exalts from being spent (which you've pointed out). Although that 90-100 max life sounds like a good upgrade to surivability (having more than 6k hp on melee char and all that).With your build I've done Sirius on Awakened lvl 5 deathless. So I guess I've saved those 8 or so exalts from being spent on smthg I don't really need. Serious upgrade I see for this build requires you to spend more than 10 exalts (up to a mirror) for crafted 2h exquisite sword. Which you can do either yourself or buy it off the market. Other than that you have my sincere thanks as this is the first league I'm able to see/do end game content. And it's my third league so far (didn't play much of synthesis).
Would you recommend Vaaling that weapon for more dps?

Yup, I've killed Awakener with lacerate or blade storm but breaking into other skills typically means more gear investment

Does the terminus vs StarForce comparison include the effect of shock?
Generally things that you'd hit hard enough to shock for a noticable amount are things like white mins where the shock didn't matter anyways
Is it recommended to spec into 2% life leech ascendancy and vaal pact?
Your Ascendancies in the video are outdated. Flawless Savagery only gives 50% crit chance and 25% multi and Crave the Slaughter no longer gives double damage. Other than that, great video.
