- Whelen Freedom IV F4W8RRRR WeCan light bar.
This is a demo bar so it is in near-new condition. It is red over white in the front, red over amber in the rear, with blue rear outboard modules and all red corners.
Given the bar is WeCan enabled and has DYAD independent control of each row on each module, there are a near infinite number of flash pattern possibilities. The pattern set in this video is simply one I designed using the WeCan software. I tried to strike a balance between using the full function of the bar while also having some simple, less distracting pattern options as well.
Last but not least, the bar is very bright. To keep the camera from being washed out, I filmed with the bar in low power mode and with the camera at downward angle.
Super bright bar. Flash patterns kind of mimic the Fedsig navigator bar.
New York spec! I love it!
I think I like this more than the Vision SLR. It looks like it puts out a lot more light.
Remember the Delta Ray visor light those were so cool with the triangles A buddy of mine had it on his a POV when I was on the fire department

I wish these were duo lightheads
They now have a duo model but only the directional modules can be duo. Corners remain single color rows.

They have duo inboard modules available, just not corners (yet).

Put a coloured dome on it and made the flash patterns which light both level as the same time as one big led unit boom you just got yourself a mordern whelen edge 9000 with led
You've described the original Freedom, which was essentially the LED Edge.
So I got one, and we can interface box, but not sure what missing but not sure if need all that control, as much as like pattern change...
You got any tips on hardware I need ?

Is this brighter than the liberty 2
Given it has more LEDs and reflectors, I'd certainly think so. While a Freedom IV isn't quite two stacked Liberty II's (I believe the Libby II modules have bigger reflectors than each row of the Freedom IV), it's not far from it.
@@JohCraLights I'm trying to find the best and its come down to the freedom 4 vs the fed sig navigator with quadraflares and the step up fed sig has is that its duo all the way around now I'd love to see a side by side. Hint hint lol.

With my camera (iPhone), those types of videos don't accurately show the brightness. That's due, I assume, to how the camera adjusts itself to prevent washout. I'd say a full Quadraflare Navigator (i. e. no SLRs) is brighter than a Freedom IV, but both are bright enough that I don't think it makes much difference. I'd personally pick the Freedom IV over the Navigator because the Freedom IV is more programmable and modifiable, and has a stouter build.

It's a WeCan bar, so the patterns are programmable. These were just demo
patterns to show the functionality that allows the rows on each module to
be independently controlled. While that functionality was introduced prior to the Freedom IV, the vast majority of earlier Freedoms didn't have it.

There isn't really an established used market on Freedom IVs yet. I think that one was around $1000 but I can't remember. I sold all my SLR stuff. I like to play w the new stuff but once I have, I sell it. It doesn't fit my collecting focus.
