I think it also depends on the situation, I'd rather not hear about it if I was eating, and I get it's a natural body function, but so is going for a shit, and I'd rather not hear about that if I was eating too.

and after I became committed to the relationship that I'm still in now a dude whom I used to know via a friend asked me if I'm single yet (I was already with my bf for 1 yr back then) and when I said no he said: "what? you're still not broken up yet?". can't believe how some people think such things are okay to say to someone. 🤣

Actually an engagement ring is a conditional gift: to get married, if the woman decides to brake up she is in the obligation to return the ring as she broke that condition. I know that from a law dispute.

And if he brakes up things get complicated for him, the logical thing to think is that is his lost, however things can be decided in court of why the brake up happen, so will be up for the judge to decide. if there was a powerful reason that force him to leave her, like being deported out the country, getting bankrupt or getting very ill to the point can't get marry then i guess he can get the ring back to cost his debts and what not.
Also sidenote: that response "you have the last six years if my life, can I have those back?" was just dumb lol like obviously that goes both ways..? Idk I wasn't impressed.

I love rings and I have one little gold one that I wear almost every second of every day. Some people have asked me if I was engaged and I always liked to say "I'm engaged to my career" as a joke, but it's truly the most solid relationship someone can have. You choose it and spend your life with it 🤷🏻♀️.
Also it was a great deterrent for guys in the club when I was in the mood of dancing only with my girlfriends and a guy was being too persistent after a couple of "no".
