This amp details every nuance of the Strat's strings and the pickups ... incredible clarity and articulation ... and I'm not really a Marshall fan. Far as I'm concerned, this is the only Marshall "sound" worth having ... this is a terrific sounding amplifier. Woof!
This amp sounds completely amazing! A good JTM-45 can do almost anything. It sounds glorious clean and overdriven and the versatile warm to bright clean or slightly broken up tone allows a good JTM-45 to work with almost any pedal and make the pedals sound fantastic.
A few years ago, I made a jtm 45 clone for my son, from a now extinct metro amp kit with kt66 glass, it sounds every bit as good as your awesome amp . Andy loves it !!!
That is some mighty clean wiring work from the video view - you can just see the quality. To me the ultimate 'pedal amp' is a Fender Twin, just enormous headroom with 100 watts RMS - but that one sounds very nice, and I always did love the amp head look of a JTM!
You should keep that amp, you have never sounded better. This an amazing amp. I assume the 1x12 cabinet gives it a little more bottom than the 4x10 would, but it sounds absolutely beautiful.
There's no question about keeping this one, Todd. In fact, I'm so smitten with Graham's work I've ordered a 2061 and will be putting in a further order later in the year (that he doesn't know about yet). :) Cheers, B.
I don't usually comment on videos but finally it's gotten to the point where something has to be said about the way people present reviews of an amp. Let me firstly state, this guy's review is presented properly. He covers the whole gamut of this fine amp, by running it through the clean as well so the distorted tones . 80% of the videos on UA-cam are recorded badly and to add further to most videos, the players can't even play anything. It's not just about how many lousy fast riffs you can play, it's about giving the viewer something decent to hear to make a call whether he or she wants to buy the amp. I personally have gone through dozens of videos that were absolute shite. This guy here does a very good job of presenting this amp. Finally someone who can play and present a stellar amp in it's proper format. As for all of you other players, you better learn to actually play the guitar right before making videos. Another great presentation is by a guy names Jack Zucker.
I see 6 Degrees FX on the shelf there - great stuff and Ken is one of the nicest guys in pedaldom. Love the demos you made for them! Amp's amazing too!
just found this. your strat's lower strings sound so spongy that i immediately noticed thoes are not the original pickups but it must be a very high end guitar. turned out im right on both. nice!
Damn, I could spend a whole day just going through all the gear in that room! That is my fantasy studio come to life. Just so you know, you're living in another man's dream. Perhaps your own as well! LOL Liked and subbed.
Nice amp, another killer is Gladius Amps(Germany) Best Plexi Tones I've heard. The old ones just have a Mojo to me. My baby is a mint stock '66 JTM-45 MKIV SuperTrem (Clapton era) Blues Breaker Uber Rare Head Version of the Famed BB Combo. Great to see fellow Aussies producing such Great Amps !
Marvelous tone~!~!~! Its this kind of break up tone that makes me want to build one of my own just like this style. Oh and that 1x12 WOW! Super impressed how that sounds!
If you can build an amp like this I'm mighty impressed. Yeah, the combo of that Palmer cab - which is really excellent - and that odd microphone (Violet Design's The Amethyst) is a GOOD combo. Rock on. Thanks for watching and for your support. If you do make that amp, let's have a look! :)
Hahah! I wish i could build like this!! (Pipe dream for me unfortunately). This just sounds so bloody amazing. Currently im using a DSL 100 with 12at7 in the v1 position on the classic gain channel and after hearing how this sounds with pedals driving it, its right up my alley of tone dreams lol.
Hi Bret, Why do you jump the upper inputs instead of the classic way botttem left to upper right? Is there specific tonewise argument? All sounds great btw!
A friend has offered to by one of these, for a unbelievably low price, because of financial difficulties, and because I think his wife has given him the old' Music or Me' ultimatum that many of us may have had laid on us at some time in our lives. Personally, my response would have been' Your not gone yet?', but Music is how I make my living, and I make it clear that , before this goes ant farther, if you think that may cross your mind at some point, maybe we should go ahead and just do the friend thing. Anyway, enough of that. This head is INCREDIBLE, And being that I amready own a Voodoo V-plex 50, I though I already had the best sounding, straight-up, non-Marshall on the planet! I've had it ,bought brand new, for 10 years, and if I could find another just like it, If for sale, it would be mine! Then this opportunity comes along. Now he says, that for some reason, Fargen has done some minor mods on it in the past, which were done before he owned it, but inno way, he says, it did nothing too the sound quality of the amp, which is MIND BLOWING!!!! I made it clear, that if he ever wanted it again, it was his. But, his wife and relationship is more important, so I don't see that happening. The amp, cosmetically, is flawless. But the tone of this amp, is a head turner!!! I don't know where to find these , at a retail outlet, or what they go for brand new, but for a Grand, it's mine. Of course you've I'm sure figured out what I'm going to do, but does your co., sell dirrect, or are there retail centers in the U>S>, that carry them. I live in Upstate N.Y., but work mainly in the studios , Woodstock, NYC., Nashville, and the list goes on. Could you answer these questions for me, and how much does one of the heads sell for on the retail market. I'm sorry that this comment was so long, but please, no negative feedback, from other people comments. This was written for the actual company who builds the awesome pieces of work! Besides his, I'd like to purchase more of the same. Thanks....
Hi Brett…. I’ve been thinking about building my own amp for a long time and a jtm has always been in my top 3. I have seen the kits for 550 euro’s but I doubt I’ll get parts as good as this amp. To find all nos components is gonna be a journey on its own here in Holland I reckon. But this amp sounds awesome…. And yea, it’s a late reaction lol
great sounding amp! I want one. you should put the gibson humbucker back in that sg though, whatever you put in there deaden ed the sound not to mention for demo purposes more people are familiar with the way gibson humbucker are should sound. the strat pickups sound great though!
Ed Berger I think you'll find that old-school reprobates like me and a lot of other players over 40 generally go for the Greenbacks. They have a cool woody sound along with some compression when they get pounded by the power amp section of, say, a 100W Marshall or Laney. The V30's have more headroom and might be preferred for cleaner stuff or just more punch - because they do punch harder. It's something worth experimenting with, I reckon, rather than taking mine or anyone else's word for.
So how much in American dollars would this beauty be ? Shipping would be a bit pricey as well but dang that sucker sounds right as rain. I think it would be right at home parked on top of the right 4x12 too.
Beautiful amp indeed! I never would have guessed that price, talk about stealing it! Weren't the original JTM 45's,30 watts? My question is,is this one 30w or 45 watts, and how does a Yank go about buying one of those? Thanks again for the videos!
damn... i bought the actual Marshall version of this amp. Although I got it for a good price at $1850 i would have bought one of these over it in a heartbeat had I known about it. Does anyone reckon its worth modding mine to similar specs of one of these? Mine does sound great but could clearly be better!
Daniel Simon No, I don't. Graham Dicker says and writes this amp has KT66s but watching the video one sees power tubes are CV4060s which don't even look like KT66s. Nevertheless the point is the sound and as I said, it sounds great.
Brent, great tone! BUT this sounds like a regular valve amp ... I don't believe that boutique or handwire sound better than a simple valve amp. You play very well, any equipment in your hands will sound great.
Very nice amp, i think everything is all right except por the caps!! the caps and the resistences are no the right ones like the vintage marshalls !! i prefer the mustard !
Hi Brett there are very good chinese KT66 availible today wich are the closest type of tubes to the original GEC KT66 used in the early JTM45. www.thetubestore.com/Tubes/KT66-Tube-Types/Shuguang-KT66.
Gorgeous and sounds pure. The wiring and component placement on the turret board is magnificent
As much as I adore my Traynor YBA-1, it will never compare to this tone. What an amplifier. You are one blessed man, sir.
This amp details every nuance of the Strat's strings and the pickups ... incredible clarity and articulation ... and I'm not really a Marshall fan. Far as I'm concerned, this is the only Marshall "sound" worth having ... this is a terrific sounding amplifier. Woof!

Man, that sounds great! Easily one of the nicest amps I've heard you play.
That amp sounds not only great but awesome!
Even the sound of plugging a lead into the input jack sounds sweet.
Lol, that's absolutely what I thought too:-))
It's the sound of a microphonic preamp tube :)
A few years ago, I made a jtm 45 clone for my son, from a now extinct metro amp kit with kt66 glass, it sounds every bit as good as your awesome amp . Andy loves it !!!
Great sounding amp! Has the old school tone in this video, that's for sure.
This is the best marshall type amp I ever heard on youtube. No kidding.
That is some mighty clean wiring work from the video view - you can just see the quality. To me the ultimate 'pedal amp' is a Fender Twin, just enormous headroom with 100 watts RMS - but that one sounds very nice, and I always did love the amp head look of a JTM!

Todd Zimmerman IMO a 4 x 10 has more bass than a 1 x 12. More speakers makes a big difference.
Great sounding amp. I like how you have all your pedals no shelves.
Big amps are making a come back.......! Awesome
This one is a gem....
You were getting excited there, must be a great piece of gear. Enjoyed watching this one, Brett.

Welcome to Burgstown! It don't get any better...
One of the better amp demo's... and liking the SA promo's along the way :-) And tasty playing! Well done.
Fantastic man cave bro...the amp sounds really nice and organic. Got one of the Marshall JTM45 reissues a few years back, they sound pretty good too.
I see 6 Degrees FX on the shelf there - great stuff and Ken is one of the nicest guys in pedaldom. Love the demos you made for them!
Amp's amazing too!
WOW! That is soooo sweet Brett. This little jem of a vid just popped up.
I just got this actual amp! Crazy good. Although now Dave Ulbrick has added a master volume. It’s sooooo good
just found this. your strat's lower strings sound so spongy that i immediately noticed thoes are not the original pickups but it must be a very high end guitar. turned out im right on both. nice!
I own a Marsh hand-wired JTM-45 (EL34 version), also a great amp. Best overdrive pedal for this amp is a Tech 21 Double Drive.
I love my amps and am never tempted, but... man... this is crazy nice...
I have watched this maybe 20 times. Just saw Garden Girl push the barrow at 5:50 in the background. Weird but made me chuckle.
Really great sounding amp Brett. Nicely demoed as always. I'm still digging my Empress Tape echo too btw. Really easy to use live.
Thanks Grant. Yep, I always have a soft spot for the mighty Tape Delay - and pretty much everything those guys produce. Cheers, B.
Other people have bookshelves - Burgs has pedal shelves - look behind ! Gold!!!!
Great amp and great playing Mr. Kinman!
Damn, I could spend a whole day just going through all the gear in that room! That is my fantasy studio come to life. Just so you know, you're living in another man's dream. Perhaps your own as well! LOL Liked and subbed.
as a 45 year '71 SL owner
I can tell you ..
crank everything but the Bass ..:)
Absolutely gorgeous, now thats what it's all about.
I hope your gonna do more demos using this magnificent piece of art?
Thank you and yes, you bet. :)
***** Can you call my wife and explain why I absolutely need to buy this Master piece?
Hi, Great amp!!! What do you think of Ceriatone's JTM45 Bluesbreaker amp? That's what I have. All point to point.
Graham not making these anymore?
Nice amp, another killer is Gladius Amps(Germany) Best Plexi Tones I've heard. The old ones just have a Mojo to me. My baby is a mint stock '66 JTM-45 MKIV SuperTrem (Clapton era) Blues Breaker Uber Rare Head Version of the Famed BB Combo. Great to see fellow Aussies producing such Great Amps !

What kind of output transformer did you say that was? I heard Radio but not Spares...
Hey Burgs, nice demo. I'm going to trouble Graham for one of these.. What configuration/speaker setup is that cab you're running through? Cheers
Any chance you could get your hands on the 1959 clone rola make? Would love to hear that.
frig that's some lovely toneage
HOLY MOTHER !!!
OMG is this a SOUND !!!

Boy this reminds me of my bassman amps......I had a JTM45 in the early 70s.
At 5:51 you can just make out a guy outside mowing the lawn. I bet he's really enjoying the great tone!
This thing sounds amazing even through pc speakers!
Great vid Brett. Thanks mate.
If you take the top left and bottom left inputs and switch them around, does it sound any different?
Friggin' KILLER Brett!
Thanks Scott. That means a lot to me, coming from you. All credit to Graham Dicker, though. He's done an amazing job with this one.
Amazing sounding amp.

OH MY GOD, TONE FOR DAYS.
What does that do when you jump the channels?
Just curious, how soon (what time ) in the video did you kick in The Elements overdrive?
Hey Burgs,Have you tried a Metroamps JTM? If so how would you compare the Rola to the Metro? Cheers
I noticed there isn't an effects loop on this amp. Does he offer an option by chance ?
+R0BL68 yes, FX loop is an additional option - $69. thanks, nello
Awesome demo man. Is there somewhere I could try one in SA?
Hello Riley, pls send me an email at nello@guitaraust.com.au and I will give you some details.
thanks, nello (guitarAust)
Burgs - this sounds awesome! Do you know if Graham builds lower watt combos at all?
He sure does. Give him a yell via one of the links above. :)
***** Will do Burgs! Sounds great through that little Palmer cab btw.
***** Ordered one of his AC15's burgs.......pick it up tomorrow! Landed in Melbourne. Very excited.
Can you provide some contact information with regards to ordering this amp please ?
wow great great sound !!
Hey Brett, Are the green backs a better match for the Marshall type amps or would V30's be to bright ??
Ed Berger I think you'll find that old-school reprobates like me and a lot of other players over 40 generally go for the Greenbacks. Thanks Brett !
How much is this amp_?
Do they plan exporting to U.K.?
Whats the point of this amp if you use pedals with it? You can't hear the military nos tubes behind a solidstate overdrive pedal.
So what do you want just the same sound for everything? Pedals add different sounds.
+coffeewaldo yes i just want the marshall JTM sound
So how much in American dollars would this beauty be ? Shipping would be a bit pricey as well but dang that sucker sounds right as rain. I think it would be right at home parked on top of the right 4x12 too.
Cool, thanks for the response. Wonderful amp i am considering purchasing.
Hey Brett, do you have some diligent elves to dust all these pedals on the shelves or how you do it?
No, Mrs K does her best but it's largely left to me. Which is unfortunate because dusting is not one of my greatest talents.
*****
Yeah, I hear ya, hope they make some pedals for that soon ; )
Brett if I can at all help by taking some of those off your hands mate........no charge 😄
Ben Caffrey
me first... me first!!!
Ghostly wheelbarrow: 8:50 lol
Seriously though, that was simply amazing.
Where I can buy this amp and what's the price??
hey brett how about you review amp from ceriatone amplification?
This sounds soooo good! :)
Really impressive!! 👍🎵🎵
I am going to save up for one of these. I must have one
Is it a full size head or did they use the small chassis?
21.5 cm (D) x 22 cm (H) x 60.5 cm (W).
***** Thanks Brett!
Since when are PCBs in production amps designed to last only three years?
nice collection of stomp boxes!! :-)
Beautiful.......
sounds good for a Marshall conterfait amp head
Beautiful amp indeed! I never would have guessed that price, talk about stealing it! Weren't the original JTM 45's,30 watts? My question is,is this one 30w or 45 watts, and how does a Yank go about buying one of those? Thanks again for the videos!
Beautiful. .
beatuful sound and amp
jeeze,, haw many cameras do you use ? ...lol
+Andy X Three, I think for that one. Cheap GoPro, Canon 60D and another cheap Sony CX150.
awesome
damn... i bought the actual Marshall version of this amp. Although I got it for a good price at $1850 i would have bought one of these over it in a heartbeat had I known about it. Does anyone reckon its worth modding mine to similar specs of one of these? Mine does sound great but could clearly be better!
brilliant...
What a FREAKIN BEEEEEAST of an amp!
hi would like to here this amp with a tele thanks
Under 2,000 and it's loaded with 60's Mullards. That in itself is a bargain.
21st Viewer to the 21 of those ROLA amps.... so niiiiice
It sounds great but it should drive KT66 power tubes.
Jean-Paul Bleus it does have Kt 66s .. is that what you're saying ?
Daniel Simon No, I don't. Graham Dicker says and writes this amp has KT66s but watching the video one sees power tubes are CV4060s which don't even look like KT66s. Nevertheless the point is the sound and as I said, it sounds great.
Try a Big Muff fuzz box.
For a big fat ballsy sound like a Les Paul.
I thought the original JTM's were 30 watt amps? Not 45, as the name suggests.
nice room:)
Brent, great tone! BUT this sounds like a regular valve amp ... I don't believe that boutique or handwire sound better than a simple valve amp. You play very well, any equipment in your hands will sound great.
No comparison. Hand wired amps do everything better
maybe in person, but listening by youtube, it is normal to me...
Rola: Not a good name for who speak portuguese
+Felipe Justino Turtledove is not a good name? Lulz.
+ᙅYᙖᙓᖇ ᗪOᙅ™ Ehm, no!?
+ᙅYᙖᙓᖇ ᗪOᙅ™ yep I don't know if I could own an amp with a stamp named Rola in Brazil, without drawing unwanted attention. LOL.
+Michael Craig its a sex position, favoured by heterosexual partners...
+RorysIrishTour actually it's a slang for the male member!
My fave setting on a Marshall are Bass/mids/treble all 666!!!
!m!
ooo 666 he is satanic...lol
Gorgeous!!
Very nice amp, i think everything is all right except por the caps!! the caps and the resistences are no the right ones like the vintage marshalls !! i prefer the mustard !
all hail the man of burgers
Damn
wish i had that man cave :'(
Hi Brett
there are very good chinese KT66 availible today wich are the closest type of tubes to the original GEC KT66 used in the early JTM45. www.thetubestore.com/Tubes/KT66-Tube-Types/Shuguang-KT66.
