Two Masters. Jack’s Acoustic prowess is incredible. His chord phrasing and timing is something to behold. You could tell. Tommy was in Admiration. Reminds me of Jerry Reed / Chet collaborating together 50 years ago
Jack Pearson is such an all around musical powerhouse - electric, acoustic, jazz, blues, slide guitar and he sings like a bird. Man, the creator put a whole bunch in the man when he made him!!
Boozoo Chavis-You forgot country! I agree with you 100%. He is the most versatile guitarist I’ve ever heard. He plays all genres authentically, like each one is all he plays.
Y’all oughta hear him play bluegrass mandolin! Flipping scary! Told me he took it up just to see if he could figure it out. Love him like a brother but it’s just not fair😉. He could play the muffler off my truck and make it sound good.
@@bennorthern8724 I hear a lot of Django "Gypsy Jazz " style in his soloing on this particular song ,so there's one more form of music the man has grasped. 🤯
I think that Jack's rhythm guitar playing (with the passing chords) is the best part of this video. The way that he keeps rhythm, interjects bass parts, sycnocpates and plays complex chords, is really quite nice. Jack shows his bossa nova rhythm guitar chops on this video. Another interesting part is when Tommy does the harmonic notes. It's chimey beautiful.
Sorry everyone, I can’t stay to chat. I have to go and sell every single guitar I own now. It’s turns out that, after watching this, I have no business playing the guitar. I need a nap.
Maybe you just need a jug of Jack Black. YEAH! That's been his secret all along. I used to play a lot better after 12 beers, but that's only because I was being PAID in beer.
Everyone always says that and i know its a joke but it makes me want to play. Its sucks I'm an adult and have to do adult shit because i just want to sit around and play all day.
To Cm squardo above: Dickey Betts said he needed to have lessons with Jack the first time he heard him, so don't feel bad. I've never heard anyone consistently do Dickey's songs better than Dickey himself. And I loved Dickey.
Tommy is such a Groove-master. Every 8 bars he switches to a different derivative beat ... each one perfect for the occasion. And funnily, I often find his accompaniment to another player more spine chilling than his lead breaks. The man is SO WICKED when he just throws some sounds from so out of left field that you miss the next few bars recovering from it!
@@keithpowell5336 Yeah, well, HE WAS ONCE a drummer. One cannot say they "ARE A DRUMMER" if they've spend the subsequent 50 years blitzing practise on guitars but not drum kits. Yes, he has a brilliant sense of rhythm, but, sorry, that does not make him a drummer.
What is really funny about Jack is he will play a cheap Squire and make it sound like Stevie Ray Vaughn's Strat. Both of these guys are incredible World Class guitar players and it is our good fortune (through the invention of modern electronics) to be able to sit at home and watch video's like this one. Thank you to the person that posted it. You guys are preserving performances that would normally be overlooked but are just as important to save as" big artist" concerts are. Future young musicians are already learning from UA-cam videos like this one and may someday post their own.
Thats a Selmer he has here, the original Gypsy Jazz g'tar - or at least a modern copy - but even they're are not mass produced, very small no of specialists still making them
Thank you Jack & Tommy, Awesome! You took me to Brazil while I live here in middle Tennessee, lt was a Great trip and never gets old. A timeless treasure, Thank you again!
WOW!!! Ive been playing for yrs and recently my son started. But hes into jazz, so im over at his house and im looking at his sheet music and its Autumn Leaves. Well im surfing around and i come upon these two. Just incredible, all of it, the musicianship the obvious joy they both show in their playing. So although my son is going in a direction i never thought of if he gets even close to their abilities it will be a true pleasure to see. Peace...
Oh my God Jack Pearson.. unbelievable. That's why Tommy enjoys so much to play with him. He could play with anybody but he chose him... So he could learn something :-)
watching Jack play blues on his Strat...then moving to an acoustic Gypsy Jazz guitar....then play some Chet on a flat top....incredible.....one of the most versatile players of all time...his fretboard mastery is amazing....vocals are top notch too. Love his collaborations with Tommy.
Wow Jack is real good with that Gypsy Jazz.He could fit right in with all those great French,Swedish and German Gypsy players of the highest talent and Gonzalo Bergara too. I know he studied it for sure and was not jokin about it .Very nice to both of them... Glenn Pall in N.Y.
Favorite part, when Tommy is going off at the end, & Jack reaches over & spins the D tuner on Tommy's acoustic axe, what a couple of Monster Musician's, Egofree Buddie's just playing for the Pure Fun or it! Peace Out.....& Rock On Beyond

No egos involved. Just two amazing musicians bringing the best out of each other. Love these guys

Same goes with Tommy!
I think that does a disservice to the work Jack has put in.

Two of the best guitar players around - just brilliant.
These two together might the greatest events in the history of guitar.
Sorry everyone, I can’t stay to chat. I have to go and sell every single guitar I own now. It’s turns out that, after watching this, I have no business playing the guitar. I need a nap.

My neighbor has a "Chipper Shredder". After watching this I may throw them in. It will be quick and easy!
Come on everyone . We are chasing their playing. We may be at the 1st rung , but you can't pack it in. Just have to practice harder. Lol
To Cm squardo above: Dickey Betts said he needed to have lessons with Jack the first time he heard him, so don't feel bad. I've never heard anyone consistently do Dickey's songs better than Dickey himself. And I loved Dickey.
Wow, extremely good, both of them. And I'm especially impressed by the play of Jack Pearson !
Jack pearson, new hero to me! Amazing playing, and gypsy style, smooth😳

The Dolphin he is his brother rhythm player but his rhythm is more captivating than his brother lead his brother great guitar player
That's absolutely true, when a guy can command your attention when he's playing rhythm, he's a pretty damn good guitar player..
He notes that he is a drummer first since that is where he started, which is where is amazing sense of rhythm comes from

Jack is on a different level than any guitarist alive 🎸🇨🇦
Agreed
!!!
Tommy Emmanuel?
@CAGED1702 Jack is better on electric than Tommy. On acoustic, it's very close.
@@rockinredneck57So close that neither cares "who's" better, because they are serving the songs beautifully!
That is some of the best guitar playing I've ever heard...Django LIVES...!!
Damn, I was not prepared for this!! I know them both, but Jacks first solo is as good as it gets!
oh look, it's the greatest guitar player on the PLANET!
and Tommy Emmanuel!
I think if I were in attendance, my head would've exploded. Thanks for posting.
Wish they'd do an acoustic album together.
I love Tommy, But damn, Jack is so good. Great stuff, love every minute of it!

I digs it

Those two look like they have so much fun playing together. Two absolute units.
Phew! Two giants at work there and so together.
Nice to see someone so skilled really giving an old Selmer the full beans, respect Jack, respect
I never knew a guitar got this many notes....awesome
Holy smokes! Masters of their craft. Jaw droppingly and bite the back of your hand amazing.
These guys are showing more than just guitar virtuosity. Let's be like these guys.
Jack: “Do you know Autumn Leaves?
Tommy: “Sure! What key?”
Yeah... I caught that too. :) Yowsa.
A newcomer to my world. What a talent
Two guitar master rolled into one...and yes a beautiful collaboration. Thanks for posting.
Thank you Jack & Tommy, Awesome! You took me to Brazil while I live here in middle Tennessee, lt was a Great trip and never gets old. A timeless treasure, Thank you again!
one of the craziest improvisation i've ever listened too
These two play so in sync . So good!
Nobody has or ever will close to Jack Pearson.🇨🇦🎸

I love that song, think its a Johnny Mercer tune.
That twinkling arpeggio that Tommy pulls on the second go around is beautiful! What an inspiration.
Why isn't there a live album made of this recording. This is seriously sick! there is no HOPE.
Oh my God Jack Pearson.. unbelievable. That's why Tommy enjoys so much to play with him. He could play with anybody but he chose him... So he could learn something :-)
This should have a billion views
“Pearson” the slaying guitarist, the arena is full of so many corpse 🎸😎
Holy Toledo! One of the best things I've seen or heard by two masters.
Love it. Two of the top works players jamming. 🙏
i knew tommy was good but THE DUDE NEXT TO HIM!!!!!
The "dude" is Jack Pearson. Look him up ! He was a member of the last incarnation of the Allman Brothers among other minor things.
Why can't I walk into this bar.
Three guitarists walk into a bar... :)
@@GK-we4co They formed a waltz.
One guitarists says to the other two, "How many chords can we fit into a bar?" Ill be here all night, tip your waitress & try the viel.
Come to Nashville
watching Jack play blues on his Strat...then moving to an acoustic Gypsy Jazz guitar....then play some Chet on a flat top....incredible.....one of the most versatile players of all time...his fretboard mastery is amazing....vocals are top notch too. Love his collaborations with Tommy.
What Jack does with a stock fender squire is flat amazing ... very underrated guitar player.
Tommy is loving Jack's playing
One of my favorite performances of those two...
OMG!!! fabulous collaboration. As much as I like Tommy, Jack really shines here .. love his phrasing.
I agree. Tommy is always showy, while Jack is so cool, so effortless, so incredibly tasteful, so creative, and most of all - with amazing feel.
I want to see him with Joscho Stephan
Reminds me of my acoustic duo except with talent and actual musicianship.
Fascinating to watch their legs tapping away in perfect sync the whole time. Tommy with his heel and Jack with his toe!
This is guitar playing at it's finest.
A guitar master class.......
A great pairing of two masterful players…! Awesome
Reminding me of John Williams & Julian Bream collaborations.

Thank God for Jack Pearson. Full on supreme.
Amazing jam on a standard. Great improv and phrasing. I could not not pay attention for even a second.
Those harmonics Tommy is doing at about 2:00 is crazy to me
Totally awesome! Two master guitarists, for sure!
These guys finish each others sentences really well!
Absolutely awesome and what a joy!
If Django had had all 4 fingers he would have played guitar like Jack Pearson !!!
Haha, good one. I'm gonna steal that.
This was all the way incredible!
Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Algo ameno para finalizar este día.

Nice bossa chords from Jack and nice leads from Tommy. Seamless.
It's insane how articulate and unflinching yet playful Tommys playing is at all times
Jack is silly good
There should be a JP And TE album before it’s too late! Please do it now….
Oh, at 7:15, that harmonic chord drop!

Holy shit, Jack
Slack-jawed. Wow.

Good 👍
Mmmm ... delicious
I went to outer space at the end. Then Jack tweaked Tommy's tuning peg. LOL
