I saw When a Stranger Calls many years ago and it scared the wits out of me. I wonder if this one will have the same effect.
I don't need to wonder anymore because it is only 9 minutes of noise and loud music.
It still terrified me. This one did. 😨

Well, she is babysitting, so she has a moral obligation to look for and protect her young charges. The Stranger already killed another teenage girl and the three little kids that she was babysitting for with his bare hands. I don't think Jill Johnson, Camilla Belle's character, had much time to search through the Mandrakis family's mansion home to look for a gun or some other weapon. Also, when you're in a state of genuine fear and panicking, you are less likely to be able to think clearly. The Stranger was not an easy opponent to defeat. He nearly succeeded in killing Jill. At the end of the film, it's implied that she has been left permanently psychologically scarred by the events of that evening when the Stranger was stalking her.
So, if you think about it another way, the Stranger did succeed in overpowering Jill. When she finds herself in the hospital at the end of the film, she is now psychologically scarred--perhaps for the rest of her natural life. She would no longer feel safe and would perhaps always fear that she was in constant danger of being attacked. Possibly worried that somehow the Stranger would eventually escape confinement in prison or a mental institution and come after her out of revenge. And perhaps, the Stranger would have found that just as satisfying, if not more so than if he had actually murdered Jill physically.

This only a partial of the the flick & I’ve already seen this kids aren’t even her kids ! She the only baby sitter working in her employer’s wealthy home.

Tommy Flanagan physically played the role of the anonymous Stranger, while Lance Henriksen provided the Stranger's speaking voice.
This is why every homeowner should be allowed to cun carry, but the tyrants in governmetn don't want this.
This is a movie!!! How often has a gun owner successfully defended against this kind of thing? Pretty rare.
But the real issue is not taking away your hunting rifle or your hidden gun defending your home. The big issue is assault weapons! No one needs a gun that can kill 100 people in a minute except the army and cops.

Personally, I don't understand why some people try to insert their own political views into a movie that have nothing to do with the subject matter of the film while pretending that film was made with the intent of supporting their political beliefs. There's no guarantee that if a homeowner owns and keep a gun in their house that they will succeed in stopping an intruder from breaking into their home. The intruder might stronger, more cunning and clever enough to be able to disarm you and overpower you--and if that turns out to be the case--then what are you supposed to do?
The character of the Stranger in the remake of "WHEN A STRANGER CALLS" (2006) is suggested as having previously murdered a teenage girl and the three prepubescent children of a family that she was babysitting for in another house at a different location with nothing but his bare hands at the beginning of the film; he ripped them apart by using his bare hands. I doubt that a gun would've stopped him, at least not so easily.

I agree. This is a fictional movie, and trying to stop a savage, clever killer with a gun in real life would be much harder, and probably wouldn't turn out as well as it does in fictional forms of media.

I can agree, at least to an extent anyway. Personally, I doubt that there is such a thing as a "responsible gunowner".
I saw this version of When a Stranger Calls and I thought it sucked! The original is much more scary👍👍
eh, the original only had the first 15 minutes going for it. the rest of it sucked (if i remember correctly it was only the first 15 minutes originally but then it got funded to become a full movie, which was definitely a bad mistake)
