Huge difference with the speed up from the ref's. More running rugby and tired bodies which means more gaps. Could be a huge positive sign for the better for rugby in general. There was barely any scrums and no "water breaks". Fans want to watch running rugby not stop start rubbish..
Scrum is a vital part of the game and always has been. That Rugby League shite has less if one wants that rubbish, Union was always about more

Though I agree bro love watching running rugby, but maybe it's our undoing, when the North historically favor a Forward dominated game and it shows our lack of dominance when we play them, especially of recent times. The trick is to Master both sides of the game n be a well balanced side like we used to be,so like the *A.B side of 96.*
Agree with most of that but sometimes tight games with hard scrummaging can be absorbing and entertaining.

McKenzie new goal kicking style number one solid stuff, that was a solid set piece try from the chiefs at scrum time threw a dummy then a inside pass sidestepped fend and a try solid stuff.

Richie Mounga has no left foot kicking game. Chiefs targeted shutting down his right like the Sprinkboks did, forcing him to pass or take contact, limiting the crusaders (and ABs) attack options.

No and no, he's won the competition every year so he's already good enough to get the job, one bad season won't take that away.....

That ship's already sailed: I think if they were going to bring him in they would have. He'll go to one of the Six Nations post-RWC or possibly French club rugby for a while, and maybe try again in a few years.

How good was this game?!? (Even though Crusaders lost) The pace was awesome few stoppages and a great spectacle. I hope these new rules hit the international stage sooner rather than later.

The Blackadder Yellow was ridiculous. The Chiefs player dips his head and basically headbuts him on the shoulder. If the ball carrier chooses not to stay upright then that needs to be full mitigation unless it is a swinging arm etc.
Headbutt his shoulder lol. He needs to get lower. His shoulders were higher than the ball carrier.

Under the protocols, it was a yellow, but let's be perfectly honest here, these protocols put *zero* responsibility on the ball carrier and actually apportion 100% of the blame to the tackler for what is essentially an accidental contact. We need to change the protocol to a more common sense approach or we might as well throw in the towel now.

@@Karma-qt4ji Yeah agree, ball carrier responsibility needs to be a bigger aspect. There are hundreds of these tackles in League and they rarely cause head injuries because they carry upright much more. Probably because they aren't worried about being held in a choke tackle (another bad Union rule).
Every team has had ridiculous yellow cards since the new rules came in but that's just how it is now

Pitty the Super Comp no longer sees the South Africans. I would still be following these two teams going toe to toe. But as a Saffa there's just no point any longer .. I do think that the combined arrogance of the ARU and the likes of Andrew Mertens was ample motivation for the South Africans to kiss it g'beye
Definitely sucks for us kiwis because the SA teams were a lot more competitive than the Aussies
I miss having the South Africans in the competition. It was always fun to watch them come to play here in NZ

NZRU also played a lot of mental games around signing the SANZAAR contracts. Lots of shenanigans and stirring to try and get some advantage but it just eventually got too much. It will be interesting to see how the national teams go in the Rugby Championship this year after they have had a proper go in the other competitions. I don't know if we will see it or not but I think the All Black intensity will drop over a period of years. Can't see how they will produce it play against the current teams in "Super" Rugby.
I wish the SA teams are still in the competition so very much, and I genuinely believe our test performance suffered from their departure. The Saffas bring a level of mongrel to the match like only they can.
What's going on with the stadium blasting music throughout the whole game? Can constantly hear it when the ball is in play which is pretty annoying and distracting......whoever is working the PA obviously thinks rugby needs a soundtrack.
The Chiefs must have been paying a fortune at the TAB to beat the Crusaders (in Christchurch) by 20 points
