He plays the sort of rugby you would have played in the playground at school.... except it's international rugby at the highest level with his countries reputation on the line 🤣
He's the best FOOTBALLER by far, compared to, say, his southern hemisphere counterparts because he has the advantage of growing up kicking the round ball too, and very likely long before he ever saw a rugby ball.
@@helpmaboabbnah a lot of kids grow up playing rugby or football not both
That might be why his countries reputation is where it is. Good moments but not winners
@@eoghangreene5728 must be england fan
@@hayfoxy nope, that is incorrect
If Finn was born in Auckland he'd be world player of the year twice over and talked about as a GOAT.
Because NZ win things and Scotland are rubbish.
He can be a genius but he also makes too many mistakes although tbf that is changing as he gets older and more experienced.
If he was born in Auckland he would have barely played any test rugby my guy.
@@Youre And thats how you know your delusional lmfao.
@@Youredelusional take my guy. at the very least Russell is on the same level as Beauden
He’s even consistent with his goal kicking now at 93% in the top 14
What I love is the fact that you can analyse his play for hours, plan to stop him, and then he does something you never even considered.
Talent hits a target no one else can hit; genius hits a target no one else can see.
There’s a lot of highlights to go in here! But one thing that’s really impressed me is how quietly good he is in defence. He tackles like a backrower at times, particularly for Scotland.
As an Irish man, Finn Russell is my favourite rugby player in the world. He’s just pure entertainment. I cannot wait for the next Lions tour. I only hope he’s still playing
I'm not even sure they would fit well... but just imagine Dupont and Russel in the same team as a 9-10 combo. Relentless entertainment
Maybe the Barbarians or a World XV can fulfill your dreams?
And Am at Centre, with Ardie Savea at 8…. Sheesh
@@mema0005 or a North vs South
@@pondbus1nessnorth gonna lose very hard. British and Irish can’t beat the Bokke. What are they gonna do to the all blacks x springboks😭
@@Ethan-DanielAbrahams possibly, but the north would have France involved which would be a big help
Just the way he can vary his passing game is pure genius. His got rocket fast torpedoes, subtle little offloads that just seem to hover into runners hands, and huge bombs into no mans land for his speedsters to run on to.
He does things with a rugby ball that sometimes even defies the imagination!
I'm from Fiji and a big fan of Finn Russell,he is the master of attack.
Finn Russell is just amazing to watch brave ,cheeky ,entertaining with a super quick rugby focused brain, eyes, hands and feet with unbelievable accurate passing.Just brilliant!
As a french supporter, I have to admit that Russell assembles what's best in Dupont, Ntamack and Jalibert in one player
Except Finn doesn't have the looks of those three.
I don't know if he's the most entertaining flyhalf, but he certainly is in Top 1.
6:37 I still can"t get over this pass.. I've never seen a pass like that
Thats my absolute favourite highlight, couldn't believe it when it happened, thought he'd screwed up then saw it was a piece of brilliance!
@@jad2468 yup, same! incredible stuff
@@coulissart yup, I thought he'd misplaced a pass, because the cameras couldn't keep up with what he could see. They couldn't anticipate it, so Jones wasn't in our picture as we watched live. Incredible.
We were at the game. Best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced at Murrayfield and I’ve been to lots of games since early 2000’s. It wasn’t just the execution of the pass, it was seeing the space in the first place, having the balls to attempt it under huge pressure and then having the skill/ability/technique to actually pull it off to perfection. Outstanding
Larkham passed like that and Lockyer in league. Finn is the most skillful player I've seen in either code. If he played behind a dominant pack he would be recognised as being so.
1:47 one of the best tries ever
At what moment you do a nutmeg in pro rugby? Lol this is crazy
ABs fan. This guy has x factor in spades. Would love to see what he could do with a dominant forward pack and more quality around him in the backs
Just want to say I absolutely love watching your videos Andrew! Absolutely class work, top content and great ideas for so long now.
Thanks for all of it and keep up the good work! (and never take away his channel World Rugby etcetera 😂)
Thank you so much James!
He stands there and says 'we're gonna play, we're gonna run, we're gonna be physical, we're gonna take you out and score'. It's just the best Rugby playable. I miss the game, he's brilliant.
🏴🏴🏴amazing skill 👌
He is the ultimate maverick genius, who leaves people speaking about him wherever he plays. From his mercurial skills to his telepathic link up play, we love watching this guy. Even the Lions tour of South Africa had all the pundits and fans asking if Finn played all three tests, they could have won. On top of his mesmerizing reading of the game, just watching him enjoy playing the game with a smile on his face is absorbing for the crowd. Please, this guy has to have at least one 6 Nations Championship winners medal in his career. Really enjoyed the video, be safe
Thanks. I needed this 😂
As a Scot Finn is a absolute legend
He has the ability to make the impossible look easy, but also makes the easy look impossible at times.
Coming to reside at Bath’s Recreation Ground very soon. 🎉
Going to be making regular trips to Bath to watch his genius!
@@Cameron_fish me too, for sure!! As an expat Scot in the Bath area, it's brilliant - better than when Stuart Hogg and Johnny Gray moved to my then home town in Devon... 6 months after I moved away.
@@helpmaboabb I’m at Liverpool uni and have a friend at bath. Will be spending many weekends on his sofa.
@@helpmaboabb glad I live down the road! 😊
Hands down the best 10 in world rugby
The best flyhalf in the world today, even better than our beloved Ntamack. What a pair he would make with Dupont !
Beautiful rugby
I bet this was fun to make...
His brain is so in tune to the game of rugby he sees things that mere mortals can only dream of , having said all that your teammates have to be aware that he can do this and be ready to take the pass or kick or dummy
Watch the Squidge Rugby review of the last Lions test. He provides such a brilliant insight about what Russell did in that match, opening up the SA defence in a way nobody else did.
Huw Jones next please!
Cant wait for him at bath
He is gonna change our team 💙🖤🤍
And he did. Bath have been wonderful to watch this season.
What a player.
I’m a Bath and England fan but Finn is such a great player
super joueur !!! J'adore !
Sensational player
Absolutely unreal player. Wish he was Welsh. Can't quite believe he's Scottish! 😂
I love him
If he was English, he'd never get picked. I wish he was, cos damn he's an amazing player. But I'm glad he's not so we can see him play for Scotland.
I'm glad you showed some of his defensive work.
All this & it doesn’t scratch his kicking game - Wow
Favourite moment was when Russell placed a "chip kick" to bounce exactly up and into Van der Merwe's arms for him to score in the corner against england. I have been watching rugby for the past 70 years and have never seen such skill from any flyhalf. Used to play back row many, many years ago and almost all of them were "readable". Fin Russell is not and must be scary to defend against.
Can't believe he wasn't nominated for 6N player of the tournament
Mate he was absolute arse against Ireland
@@karlclifford1176 he wasn’t arse as he still got a try assist and a conversation. He also nearly got 2 more try assists and he was carrying a knee ligament injury and hadn’t been able to train all week
You wouldn’t know he was on the field in the game against Ireland…
He got a conversion in front of the sticks and I’m pretty sure Tuipolotou threw that pass for Huw Jones no?
Ireland have become a massive bogey team for Scotland and with both Irish hookers having gone off Scotland won’t ever have a better chance of beating Ireland. He was anonymous in the second half when the game was in the balance.
I like him and I think he’s a good player and he can be an absolute genius on his day but he didn’t warrant player of the championship. He came up short against Ireland with the triple crown on the line against one of the best to ever do it in the 10 jersey.
@@karlclifford1176 he was one of Scotland’s only good players again Ireland😂
I know that professional rugby is all about efficiency and set plays, but guys like Russell remind you that rugby is just a game at the end of the day and that it should be played with a smile on your face. No surprise that Finn looked up to Carlos Spencer and Fred Michalak as a younger player!
When did he say this?
Zwischen Genie 💡und Wahnsinn🤪...
And a really nice fellow
7:36 If Duhan unloads that to the right Scotland lead 14-8, and who knows what happens after that. Well, Ireland probably still win because their quality and resilience are on another level, but you never know.
I just wish Russell won more trophies. Let’s be honest Russell is way clear of Stuart Hogg nowadays, but Hogg has won a league at Glasgow and the league and Champions Cup at Exeter. Of course I don’t begrudge him that but it’s a shame that despite being one of the best players in the world, he has only one won trophy.
He’s only 30 and Sexton is still playing at 37 (though he’s managed at Leinster which Russell isn’t with Racing as he plays most weeks) but I hope that after the Bath move, even if it’s for less money, he goes to a Toulouse or a Leinster or something and wins some trophies.
I’m still hoping for a 6 Nations win with Scotland too, though that’s very tricky at the moment with Ireland and France being so good.
Won one*
He was in the same team that won the league.
Russel was born in the Bridge of Allan in Scotland 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Russell and Dupont wud be fun
Saffa here, what i wouldnt give to have this guy playing behind the Bok pack. incredible talent. Whats so freaky is his physique doesnt even look like a rugby player. But wow what magic.
That first try is totally insane
this is like a best of rugby highlights video but everything is finn russel
Missread the video title, thought i was watching a Carlos Spencer Montage.
The most inventive, skilful fly half in world rugby and I'm only slightly biased being a Scot. Not everything he does comes off, that goes with the way he plays but boy is it satisfying when it does.
I tried to do the first one last week but it got blocked and went back for a try 😂
Rees Zammit next please sir and amazing rugby video as always 💯👊🏉🙏.
Nice video of the Scottish Carlos Spencer
Ronaldinho of rugby
Is there a more entertaining player to watch in the modern game
I always live your videos, you always find clips that I haven't seen before. I was wondering whether you'd do one for Sarah Hunter now she has announced her retirement as she is the most capped England player ever and I'd love to see some of her highlights from your perspective 😁
Dream backline (Still playing today)
9-Dupont 10-Finn Russell 11-Kurt-Lee Arendse 12-Andre Esterhuizen 13-Semi Radradra 14-Kolbe 15-Charles Piutau
And yes I'm South African
Good back line with the exception of Kolbe - saw him in Dublin at the champions cup a few months ago - a disgrace to the jersey. Needs to learn some manners and quite a higher skill level before he behaves like that.
@@dennism5731 What did he do?
@@Garrett1240 Hit several Glasgow players with cheap, late shots when the ball was away. Spent most of the game offside, and went about patting opponents on the head in that condescending manner that little shites do. On top of that, he made very few yards, beat absolutely no one, had zero line breaks, and was less than useless in defence. If he was a kid you would be taking him aside to teach him some of the basics about rugby.
Top 5 fly half of all time
Have a word with yourself.
Smoking that good stuff
Finn "the enabler" Russel
its finn russells world and were just living in it
If a rugby players had 5 star skills and the flair trait
The Young Don!
Andrew Forde What is This Music Called
Can you do a josua tuisova montage
Thank goodness Gatland never went with him for the first 2 Lions tests against SA
What’s the song called in this video?
Name of the song?
Finn Russell is box office! If you want neutrals to spend money on a game or convert new fans to rugby, look no further.
Easily the best fly half on the planet.
How has this guy been left out if the lions ??
He is easy top 3 in the world right now
He's in the top three in Scotland.
He went to SA in 2021 didn't he?
He was on the most recent Lions tour?
Russell just reads the game so far ahead of everyone else. The issue is that "everyone else" sometimes includes his own team.
When you click on a video and think it's sarcasm.......
There is only one finn Russel
Sadly all that talent will go to waste when he moves to Bath
Controversial opinion: he’s become more consistent recently, but still goes missing at the very top level (e.g. second half against Ireland; lack of trophies other than one Pro12 with Glasgow). He’s the most entertaining 10 atm for sure, but for sustained success give me Pollard or Sexton any day
Second half against Ireland he damaged his knee ligmants, so couldn't kick at all. I'm guessing he stayed on because he knew he was better without kicks than kinghorn was with them.
He was injured going into the Ireland game. Barely trained all week and is now out for 8-10 weeks I believe. And his best shot at another trophy was Champions cup with Racing but Iribaren shit the bed that day.
Racing haven’t been the same since, changed coaches and whole squad so much worse than it was. It’s basically just Finn having to carry the whole team this season.
Fair points C02 and Fish1167, he is an immensely talented player, and Racing isn’t exactly known for having a disciplined internal culture that he could have slot in to. But ultimately a great 10 like Wilkinson, or IMO Sexton, is a general and does carry the team and drive standards for the better until success is achieved. His highlight reel will be 10 times longer than Sexton’s for example, but Sexton has 10 times the number of trophies at club level. For all his talent Russell doesn’t have the force of personality to drive his team to success
@@nialldaly9176 wait a few years and Finn will have a fair few trophies under his belt
@Fish1167 with Bath or with Scotland? In any case, I can only judge him on his career to date, for me he doesn’t have any credit in the bank for potential future trophies
England have one of these but don’t know how to play him 🤦♂️
I was in thomand for the nutmeg against munster. He destroyed us on his own that day. He's a very unusual out half. Would prefer to dink it through the legs than kick for territory. Yes he's a rugby genius but he's not a consistent rugby genius. Sometime you don't even notice that he's playing until it's time for a penalty.
Finn Russell has nutmegged one player. He has kicked masterfully for territory thousands of times in his career. He had the most kick metres of any player this 6N and he only played 4 games. To think he doesn't kick for territory says you're either blind or don't watch rugby.
Is it winning rugby though? Has he won many trophies?
Players don’t win games on their own, and many players who’ve won trophies aren’t great players because they won trophies 👍🏻
He is ok player at best when he comes up against Ireland all the time he goes missing 💯
A better combo would be Dupont and Sexton.
25% genius, 75% liability. Compare him to George Ford, complete opposites but I know who I'd pick every game
Biggest load of shite I’ve heard in a while
Agree, sexton is leagues ahead of him as well. If I had to play SA or NZ I'd have sexton at 10 over Russell.
@@mclovin5976 how you can watch a video like that and have that opinion is beyond me. Russell is unique and a joy to watch. There is nothing Ford can do that Russell can't but there is plenty that Russell can do that Ford can't. He's had an alright career for someone who is apparently a liability 75% of the time!
@@rustyfeatherstone93 yeah he can do wonderful things and can create magic I agree. But where was he vs the best 10 in the world? He goes missing sometimes.
@@mclovin5976 If you're referring to Sexton as the best 10 in the world (which I strongly disagree with) then Russell was carrying a knee ligament injury sustained playing for Racing the week before playing Ireland. He's now out for 8 weeks. Not sure what you mean by "goes missing" as he is the heartbeat of the Scotland and Racing teams every week.
I’ve seen this guy play live , don’t see what the hype is about , cipriani was better and he had a unfulfilled career
Who tf is Finn Russell???
He's ok with a dominant pack but so are lots of 10s. Not a patch on most international 10s. Scotland are garbage too.
Go on then, I’ll take the bait 🙄 And you support ?
He mimics Brian O Driscoll but falls way short.
Not what Brian himself said!
Unpredictable bollox not consistent enough
absolute nonsense from a jealous rival fan
@@rustyfeatherstone93 blew it away against France couldn’t do the job against Ireland . Can’t control a game . Facts are there from Newsealand 😂😂😂

8imutes of highlights over a career Vs 8,000 minutes of absolute garbage
He's the worst 10 of top 14
No ball knowledge
"He's the worst 10 of top 14" That's the most blatantly stupid thing I've heard in a while
I know he's not the most consistent 10 in the world but he's had some of the best individual performances I've ever seen in rugby (and I've been watching this game for a while!)
