It did feel like the blues peaked too early then started to flag but the Crusaders were getting better and better. Massive gulf in class when it mattered
They came up against a much better team. That's the nature of the sport. I"m a Blues fan and I take my hat off to the Crusaders. They disrupted the game plan of the Blues and never really got into the game. But I'm proud of them, because for years, they were in a real dark place. But now, they've put belief back into the minds of Aucklanders.
Crusaders has in rugby what Real Madrid has in football, an extra point of mysticism that nobody knows very well what it is, as a team they always have something in their favor even if the match is tied.
RTS got schooled in the midfield, Crusaders exploited that mismatch. Cullen Grace great homework on the lineouts with Quinten (should be ABs) two auckland Blues reserve props in the ABs got schooled by the young crusaders props. Havili showed why he's an AB with Goodhue. Whitelock you might be old but you are a menace around the park. Tom Christie should be in the ABs to develop him.
Re RTS how did he get schooled? Hard to judge off highlights. Not saying you were wrong but hard for any backline player to look good when pack getting pushed about, which is how it looked.
@@iangregory54 They targeted him on d. Schooled is a bit harsh though, Barrett got the treatment as well which might be worrying for the AB's. The higher the level the more difficult it gets. RTS will learn heaps from this.
Blues backs were on the back foot all night! Crusaders pack smashed them. Havili will get shown up in the big AB games this year....again! You just may be right about QS, he's got to be better than Lord!
Blues coaching took him off early, Crusaders did there homework against him. Foz has no idea, he picked two blues reserve props and crusaders young talent pushed them around.
Hard to judge off highlights but how isn't he in your opinion? Saw him contribute to a try saving tackle but Blues didn't exactly give the backs much chance to use the ball
Gotta hand it to this team. Canterbury are a quality, knowledgeable and class team. The sum of...and maybe more, of their parts. Blues...respect for a great, battling and positive season under Leon Mcdonald. Now...enter the ABS...Ireland. Be welcomed....and vanquished!!
Wonderful control by Mo’unga throughout, edged his battle with Barrett with a superior kicking game, though one must wonder how much better the Blues backline would’ve looked if their pack hadn’t been so absolutely clueless at the lineout, Whitelock made Eklund and co look like a bunch of idiots, and poor control of the breakdown led too often to wastage of good field position whenever Christie and Barrett got them moving forwards. Won’t say this was a classic performance from Barrett at flyhalf, but I do think he was one of the Blues’ best performing players today, but with everyone else totally flat and uninspired, there wasn’t much he could do to drag them over the line, especially with Whitelock bossing setpieces, Jordan cleaning up the back, Reece and Leicester rampaging, and Mo’unga constantly kicking the Blues into trouble. Totally outclassed in their own backyard. Bower, Whitelock, Mo’unga surely a lock in to start against Ireland now, although for my money Barrett’s more physical presence will be more effective against the Irish as it was last year before he was taken off with concussion.
Salaam... Congratulations to the Crusaders, they stay the team to beat, ps just for once would have loved the Blues to win. Only managed to watch a clip of the match 😭👍🌹🕋🇿🇦
I remember discussing with chiefs fans, crusaders is the best team as a team by far, but for me finlay christie is a level above weber and perenara currently.
Christie stood out in a very poor Blues team lol I wouldn't say he's a level above Weber and TJ especially because Weber and TJ have already proven themselves. Christie is yet to make that step up
In the All Blacks I like Beauden Barrett a bit better than Mo'unga, but today Richie won the duel of the 10s by a landslide. The guy is awesome every time he's playing in a Crusaders' jersey, particularly on big games. And Barrett in contrast had a pretty quiet game.
Richie is a million time better then bb at #10 in every way plus a coach who know how to use him unlike foster n this game n 5 other championships proves it. Aloha.
Barrett had nothing to work with tonight with the Blues losing so many lineouts and losing the ball. But he’s been the better 10 most of the year, including the previous game against the Crusaders.
Scott Barrett looked impressive from these highlights: Reiko seemed contained as Havili strove for hard yards; Leicester...has he passed the test? Where was Caleb Vlarke? I'm yet to be fully convinced by him, whether he played today or not. But hey, we're here to be proved wrong. Richie, my namesake...Respect!! You staked your starter case!!
Lineouts killed the Blues tonight but a lot of other areas were found wanting, namely their work at the ruck which was pathetic. I have criticized him In The quarters and semis and I’ll say it again; Ofa is hands down one of the absolute worst scrummaging props going around. How they can carry him at test level is beyond me. The Blues looked a lot like the ABs when they get shut down and it calls into question the wisdom of choosing the all blacks before this tournament had concluded.
Ofa and Karl got dominated by Tamati and Newell. The all blacks props are a joke not even close to the best props in the country. Dropping DeGroot for Karl is the worst decision I have ever seen, don’t even get started on Angus Tavao lmao
@@TheFunkhouser Foster should be nowhere near an AB coaching job to be honest, all the other NZ coaches coaching other international teams are better than foster its silly.
The Crusaders had too much experience in finals rugby and executed their game plan near perfection. Unfortunately for the Blues they couldn't dominate in set pieces and the breakdown especially their lineouts which was total shambles. New Zealand rugby needs couches like Razor who brings excitement and inspiration for rugby fans. Congratulations Crusaders.

Final nerves got to the Blues. In the context of the season they deserved to go on with it, they deserved to go on with it all the way and win the Final. They were a side this year that showed they had the talent and that they were genuine contenders capable of winning it. Unfortunately however, for the Blues they have just failed at the final hurdle. They have failed to produce just one more (peak) performance. I put it down to the nerves that got the better of them. The Blues players would have felt absolutely gutted at Fulltime and they will for a while to come. The Crusaders are the deserving winners. The Crusaders have been there and done it many times before and it was their experience and composure that decided the outcome just a little bit too easily. We all wanted a classic Final.
Not enough said about the Crusaders/All Blacks engine room. Sam and Scooter not only ran a masterclass at lineout, but added the power in the scrum. Both last week and this week the Crusaders dismantled AB front rows. That all comes from the engine room. Huge props to the Crusaders for NOT dropping the ball. Last week and all season they've let teams off the hook by dropping the ball on attack giving easy exits or put themselves under pressure. There were almost no handouts all game. One of the most interesting post game comments was Razor describing how clinical they were in the first 50. Did the blues even have the ball on attack in the half in the first 40?
As history shows the mighty Crusaders are a team built for this occassion, this champion team has now won a whopping 13 rings, its fair to say weve run outta fingers and now to the toes, Up the saders

Imagine going on a 15 game winning streak and lose in the finals 👀👀👀😂😂😂😂
Not a 15 game winning streak, a 14 game winning streak because they lost the their first match.
@@cameronwebb7964 muppet 🤦♂️ Don't correct people when you are wrong
@@AB-hh2eu true brother being a both Liverpool and Crusaders supporter I agree with you 💯
RTS got schooled in the midfield, Crusaders exploited that mismatch.
Spot on. Your comment on RTS is exactly why I said Fozzie was setting him up for failure in a recent video of mine.
@@iangregory54 He got taken of after 45 mins...that said it all.
Blues backs were on the back foot all night! Crusaders pack smashed them.
Havili will get shown up in the big AB games this year....again! You just may be right about QS, he's got to be better than Lord!
I love the mentality of the crusaders...they came to play and spoil the party at Eden park 🤣
I hate to say it but Roger Tuivasa-Sheck just isn't All Black standard.
Off of one poor game?
@@iangregory54 RTS isn't even in the same league. Fact. He has along way to go.
Ok coach, love the comments from these couch potatoes.
Great work from both teams... Dam, I Love this Game!
One of the great ironies of this match was that all season the Crusaders struggled with the lineout, but here they completely owned it.
Blues need to take this on the chin, they have the talent but need the resilience, the failed line outs and drop balls were ridiculous in a final

Blues too good for the rounds but Saders too good for the finals💯💨
It's never too good, you want to be as good as possible and even more.
Win the war not the battle
I remember discussing with chiefs fans, crusaders is the best team as a team by far, but for me finlay christie is a level above weber and perenara currently.
Probably the first real good scrumhalf since Steve Devine. Idk why they subbed him.
He was the best Blues player today by a big margin.
Greetings from an uruguayan who loves super rugby, good to see im not the only one who thinks the same
Christie stood out in a very poor Blues team lol I wouldn't say he's a level above Weber and TJ especially because Weber and TJ have already proven themselves. Christie is yet to make that step up
Disagree. Hes slow, and tries milking too much
Weber is legit
In the All Blacks I like Beauden Barrett a bit better than Mo'unga, but today Richie won the duel of the 10s by a landslide. The guy is awesome every time he's playing in a Crusaders' jersey, particularly on big games. And Barrett in contrast had a pretty quiet game.
The difference was the quality of the forward pack. Barrett didn't have one and decided to go missing with them too.
Except that miss penalty from close range, but out played Barret tonight.
@@MarkWhippy main game that counts not the 15 in a row.

Superb season 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 some amazing moments, well don’t the Crusaders and commiserations the Blues 👏🏻👏🏻
Blues backline went missing tonight 🤣🤣🤣
I’d hardly be blaming the Blues backline, the forwards couldn’t win their own line-out to save themselves 😂
Yeah we had no ball as Whitelock destroyed our line out
Hahaha the blues backline is average. Jokes, the whole team in general is average.

Vlarke has been injured for several weeks now. Hard for him to prove you wrong when he’s not even playing.
Clarke overrated compared to other wings. Reiko never been convincing at 13. I just don't get the obsession. Blues talk, Cru win
@@Jamluji Reiko has been one of NZ's best players this year, playing at 13 lmao have you even watched the rest of the season?
Lineouts killed the Blues tonight but a lot of other areas were found wanting, namely their work at the ruck which was pathetic. I have criticized him In The quarters and semis and I’ll say it again; Ofa is hands down one of the absolute worst scrummaging props going around. How they can carry him at test level is beyond me. The Blues looked a lot like the ABs when they get shut down and it calls into question the wisdom of choosing the all blacks before this tournament had concluded.
Maybe Foster shouldve waited to name the AB side haha >_
The All Blacks have 5 more gears than the Blues.
The blues front row is the AB's front row, foster should make some changes and reward form

Whoo hooo! Well done the Crusaders!
A canes fan here but what planet was the ref of tonight? He did everything in his power to keep the Blues in the match. Side note, Jase Ryan needs to be our next ABs forward coach with Razor the head. Jase is a genius, Robertson a master.

Lat weeks game against the Brumbies was there grand final. Congrats on the win Crusaders. Still the blues..
Blues choked. Forwards were nowhere. And the bloody lineouts??? Damnnn
