I was really satisfied. I've cared very little for comics, save for Thanos, when I first read Infinity Gauntlet back in 91. I was the only person in the theater to cheer when he appeared in the first Avengers and I was mighty satisfied with his cinematic equivalent. Sadistic and cruel as he is, he's just so damn sympathetic. Such a strange and fun character.
Oh for sure. Two things that surprised me with the movie were that Loki did not take on the Mephisto role as the silver-tongued devil on the shoulder character, and that death didn't make an appearance or have any part of his motivation. I loved the power dynamic between the two in the comics and how death basically used him to achieve her wish of half of life disappearing by suggesting the means to do so, the gauntlet, and then shunning him when his power eclipses that of hers. Honestly, I thought Hela would have an appearance or role as death. I think that would have been a great connection, she is the goddess of death after all, and I think she and him would get along splendidly.
Yeah, i mean Thanos was by no means the hero of this movie but he was the main character and had the most development. I was like Jay, before this i couldn't give a shit about movie Thanos but through the movie he genuinely made me care about him as a person. He had a lot of very human, emotional moments you don't often or ever really see from your big superhero bad guys.
On the "how dead are they" scale for Infinity War, no-one (including Loki and Gamora) is deader than Uncle Ben. That man holds the record for being the deadest person to ever die.
"Why didn't Thanos just use the glove to create more resources for the universe?" Josh Brolin was asked this and replied "Because he didn't think of it."
@@lescovahvalich460 I just think of it as "When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail" which is just part of Thanos' character. He's a sadist.
That's actually a lot deeper than it sounds. It wasn't just that he didn't think of it; He couldn't think of it. Straying from his path at the end, even though it would've been the actual solution to the problem he set out to solve, would have required he admit to himself that he was wrong, and that he had ravaged the galaxy for nothing but his own satisfaction. Thanos still sees himself as the good guy, after all, and saving everyone would've condemned him in his own eyes, I think.
Yeah, I don't think he ever saw Groot make the handle! He crawlin' around going "where the heel is that handle? Its up to me to save us from thanos! Oh now I've lost the same axe head too!" That would be funny.
Nah, the Star Trek episode he was talking about was a way more obvious connection. I was reminded of it, too, and I am not even a trekie...the story went that the help the planet waited for arrived in time, so the whole killing was entirely useless in the end. Most of the episode is about exploring the guy who ordered the killing, and if I remember correctly, in the end he starts to doubt himself.
Trash Bag We still don’t actually completely know who is going to stay alive after the next part and it still doesn’t matter that we know they are coming back, people are still heartbroken that we actually watch heroes (particularly Spiderman) die in front of us. People are still talking about how depressed the film makes them.
Wow it's almost like comic books, the media with the most artificially perpetuated characters in modern history, will continue to artificially resurrect these same characters yet again for more overdone and contrived plots where there won't be any real danger.
@@GeorgeMonet bro there is still 6 infinty stones + antman being traped in Quantum Realm with time portals, they're 100% going to avenge and fix things
I'm still 90% sure that "Endgame" refers to endgame of Doctor Strange's real plan and one in Infinity War was a fake out. But it would be kind of underwhelming for them just get the Gauntlet back and rewind time or something.
Was listening to the RLM Alien commentary and the following things are said: Mike: (sarcastic) I'll never get tired of a bunch of superheroes fighting a god-like being Rich: Wait till the Infinity gauntlet! At least in the comic they fail horribly. Jay: They'll never do that in the movie. You can't have your heroes fail.
I would add that I like that in the final dust scene, there was no music. No sad piano, no sad violin. Not even a crackle when they disappear. Just unavoidable death ...
This is a factually correct statement, marvel is for kids. The fallacy lies in the fact that in addition to it being for kids, it is also for teenagers, fathers, mothers, adults and grandparents. Marvel films are accessible enough to be able to target multiple demographics without excluding others. The true success IMO is that the movies are capable of this feat without dropping their quality for any audience, or pandering to any one specific audience too much.
lets not forget that the last scene of the movie was thanos doing what he said he would do, sitting watching the sun rise and smiling. then before the post credit scene it says thanos will return. this movie was legit
I actually appreciate that Thanos has the forethought to only go after the Infinity Stones when he knows he can grab more than one in quick succession. He was obviously aware that just having one Infinity Stone was not a guarantee that someone wouldn't just show up and vaporize you, Infinity Stone or not. Ronan got one and the Guardians killed him. Malekith got one and then Thor killed him. Loki had two and still got captured by the Avengers. Thanos succeeded because he was patient enough to wait until he could get three in a row really fast.
That's just stupid. Not getting the infinity stones when you have the chance only increases the chance you will never get a chance to grab it again because the universe is a huge huge place. If someone wanted to grab a stone and run then it would be impossible for them to ever be found again. The only reason Thanos even manages to get all the stones so quickly is because the writers are incompetent idiots who used deus ex machina constantly. Thanos magically knows where every stone is and collects them all without any effort.
The Marvel Universe isn't a huge huge place, though. It's like that size of a garage. Rummage around and you'll find some MacGuffin. It's "space as the sea", it's based of a comic book and uses comic book logic, let's not pretend otherwise.
GeorgeMonet uhh no. Thanos waited for several things to fall into place. Over the past 10 years of movies we (along with Thanos) have learned where the stones are. Thanos was only waiting because he didnt know for sure where the soul stone was. Once he captured nebula and infiltrated her memory bank, he knew and commenced his onslaught.
@@PittsburghSonido don't forget also that Odin, who could go toe to toe with Thanos, died like within a few days before infinity war. So not only did he learn the soul stone could be found, one of his biggest threats had just died.
Okay so I just imagine Mike and Jay walking through a toy store and seeing that action figure and giggling hysterically all the way to the checkout line.
If we're to assume he gives a shit about the rest of the universe and not just the Titans, but it's never explained why he does, and he clearly delights in inflicting pain and being a cliche "evil" villain, replete with a malevolent Black Order aiding him in his quest.
William Jacques Nowadays people can’t just accept that some characters can have reasons to do stuff without everything being explained. It just takes half a brain to understand why he cares about others
If you add every season from TOS NG, DSN and Voyager, the 18th episode of the 18th season doesn't exist because Voyager only has 16 episodes in its first season, the technical "18th" season of Star Trek. .. Very Cool
Completely wrong. "IT ENDS WITH BATMAN SAYING 'OH GOD I DON'T WANT TO PAY THE WHOLE CHECK BY MYSELF BEFORE TURING INTO A CAT!!!" Not sure why that's a downer ending though. Cats are delightful! And I assume Batman's friends helped pay the check!

This was definitely Marvels Empire Strikes Back. People lost so many hands. The Black Order guy. Hulkbuster. Some of the outriders. Peter Dinklage. And Groot cuts his own arm off too.
"It lessens the stakes and the impact when you know everyone can just come back anyway" Welcome to comic books, Jay. This is a problem that's been around for a while.
To be fair, they had to keep what Thanos was trying to do, but wanted to come up with a different reason for doing it. Which does lead to a few weird bits, as the movie keeps some lines that were built around his comic book motive, but which do not actually fit his movie motive.
BainesMkII I personally prefer his motives in the film to the comic, not that his tragic love with Death isn't interesting in its own right. Still that's interesting, what lines are you referring to?
I prefer (now classic) comic book Thanos, but have no issue with movie Thanos, who is a pretty darn good reinterpretation. I was more worried that the movie would use (relatively recent) rebooted origin comic book Thanos, who was clearly rebooted to fit some idea of a more "movie-friendly" version. (The rebooted Thanos origin heavily implied that his conversations with Death were all in his head.) As for the lines, two things stood out. First, early on the Black Order refer to death being a blessing. That fits comic book Thanos, who loves Death and legitimately sees death as a blessing. (Indeed, comic book Thanos was happy being dead.) This doesn't fit movie Thanos. For movie Thanos, death is more a service, a necessary evil to protect life. Second, there is pretty much everything about the cosmic balance in regards to the living outnumbering the dead. In the comic books, it is that ratio of living to dead itself that is the tipping point. Death felt threatened by the ever-growing presence of life, so she resurrected Thanos and sent him out with the task of restoring the balance. For movie Thanos, even though he still practices the simple "kill half" solution, the amount of dead to living realistically doesn't figure into his motives. Any "cosmic balance" for movie Thanos is driven entirely by what he believes to be the amount of life the universe can safely sustain, the number of dead doesn't really fit into it at all.
BainesMkII that's fascinating! I really buy in to the comic Thanos you describe. I felt this was pretty present too in Avengers 1: "to challenge them is to court death", is CLEARLY, especially with the double meaning of "court", meant to evoke the Thanos we know to have a relationship with an embodied Death. To be honest, in the current movie Thanos context, his famous smile now seems a bit out of place
The CGI for the whole movie was spot on. And this movie had an eff-ton of CGI. Someone pointed out that the reason Black Panther's CGI was sub-par is perhaps because Infinity War was tying up all the best CG artists... That seems like it could be true.
Geek Owt Lowd I disagree. I enjoy the movie but especially with Tony and Spider-man on Titan. The CGI is horrible. They looked like floating heads in a some sci fi videogame world. Even their suits were CGI. Which is weird because there is bts footage of RDJ wearing a practical torso piece.
Vinny Banana I guess sometimes the faces look a little weird on the cgi suits. I didn't notice Iron Man, but there was a shot of Parker's head with the Iron suit, and Banner's head on the Hulkbuster suit... but that's not a CGI issue... that's a compositing issue. And it's also the least important cgi shots to nail. I repeat. The CGI was tremendous. Maybe 2 or 3 shots with composited heads were a bit off... but that's minuscule.
Real Talk, he did erase his Twitter. In regard to the public facing information, the tweets were inaccessible. The smear campaign pulled up relics from the past that the public could not access (not sure how, but one likely suggestion is WayBackMachine which stores cached copies of websites)
"Dude, you're embarrassing me in front of the wizard." I appreciate that it had less comedy than the other MCU movies, but what there was was pretty good for the most part.
No kidding, like halfway into the movie i was like lol wouldn't it be funny if thanos won and he just chilled at the end. Then it ended. And i was speechless
The only thing that could have made Thanos an even more impressive character is if he turned to ashes after sitting down in his cottage. Flip a coin for everyone, and don't exclude yourself. But even without that, the whole movie was Thanos' movie. He got all the traditional hero moments, the quiet Zen-like dream sequences, the tortured past and heroic motivation. He even gets the big sacrifice to gain the macguffin to accomplish his goal. And of course "Thanos will Return" at the end, a line typically reserved for the hero of the marvel movie. The only issue in his story is that he killed the Dwarves despite promising to spare them, something that goes completely against the way he's written in all his other scenes (when he promises to spare someone, he does, consistently). He's fucking awesome.
When I was walking out of this movie I passed a group of guys and one asked to the other "Did you clap?" The other responded "I saw Captain America and I clapped." It was just the cherry on top for me.
@@Elias6233 in the Black Panther review they mention "Who gives a fuck about Thanos? They've been hyping him for 10 yrs. Some big stupid purple guy." Something similar to that.

James Roa i mean, most nerds understand that this had to happen to continue the narrative. The russos specifically said this literally since it was announced and no matter what I'm actually excited to see what happens next. A lot of recent marvel movies feel into a contrived trap not on their own fault, but it went formulaic. Now they get you do whatever the fuck they want now and imo it was fucking great to see. Excited to see what happens now.
In my second viewing the kid next to me was crying during the end scene and when the credits rolled he turned to his dad and managed to say "He won... Thanos won..." I wanted to laugh so badly, poor kid

Little kids suck and everyone knows it, and it’s funny to see their little minds get blown. Plus they’re gonna bring all the characters back next movie so who cares. half a decade later, this movie is standing the test of time, in my opinion. still an incredibly entertaining movie with great stakes, pacing, and action. easily still the best Marvel film by far
Inserting Red Skull into Infinity War was good fan service. Tying up loose ends from previous movies is necessary for world building and lore, something that fans can and will appreciate.
In the movie, I just thought he was a representation of Death. Considering he was the ‘caretaker’ of the Soul stone. Had no idea he was an actual character.
One complaint I see a lot is "Why did Thanos wait so long to go after the stones?" This is an easy one to answer. He needed Odin and Asgard out of the way. Asgard and especially Odin were the biggest threats that we know of to Thanos in the galaxy. In Thor Ragnarok, we even get a great line from Thor when he confronts Loki (disguised as Odin) that says he sees all the realms in chaos, and enemies of Asgard closing in on their territory. TL;DR - Thanos waited to gather the stones because Odin and Asgard were still around. Ragnarok solved that problem for him.
Not a nitpick. A huge issue of internal logic and consistency. Like, having some standards and wanting *some* decent explanations instead of being a fanboy shill.
Here's how I saw Thanos waiting until just now to finally go after the stones. He couldn't perform an all out assault on even one of the stones without another one of the holders of the remaining stones hearing about it, therefore putting up their guard. If he was going to do it himself (like he said at the end of Age of Ultron) instead of using underlings (like he did in the first Avengers and Guardians movies), he needed to come in and hit all of them as fast as possible to prevent foreknowledge of his incoming attacks. But he still didn't know where the Soul Stone was, so he had to hunt down that information first. Which he finally did when he captured Nebula and forced her to tell him that Gamora HAD in fact located the Soul Stone. It was only after acquiring that information that he could begin violently taking the stones from those who held them.
Why not just attack Xandar and get the powerstone, thereby already making him the strongest being in the universe as stated in the beginning of the movie? Its still dumb. But whatever.
At the end, where Thanos looks over at the world he destroyed and the Avengers died, and the movie ended-- someone yelled out, "That's not how it's supposed to end!"
Thanos couldn't really launch a full-scale war until he knew where all the stones are located and he could grab them all in a blitz attack. Otherwise powerful forces across the universe would take notice and stop him. He had zero leads on soul stone until he captured Nebula, and only then, after evaluating the situation, decided to make a move. The fact that Thor's species basically collapsed, Ego and the Ancient One were murdered, and Avengers fell apart, definitely played the part too. It was a limited window of opportunity and he used it.
These are the only reviewers I trust. Other hacks say "it was amazing" and I don't know what to think. These guys give reasons, and even when I don't agree, at least I understand. Best reviewers on youtube by far.
RLM makes my favorite reviews to watch for entertainment but I'm glad I watched the movie before this review. Even the non spoiler section in the beginning was kinda spoilery talking about how "depressing" the movie was. I can't really get mad at other reviewers for not going into details about this movie when it's so easily spoiled. It's the red wedding of the MCU. Do we really need much more at this point in a Marvel review than to hear someone say it was amazing? I understand your complaint for most movies but if you've been watching this series of movies you should have a good idea what you're in for even without an in depth review. TBH, all I need to hear from these guys is their recommendation to watch the movie and then I can come back and watch the full review after I've seen it.
You should add that scene at the end where Thanos sits and stares out in the sky, smiling. I kind of felt happy for him. If you REALLY set your mind to something, you can accomplish anything. Including destroying half of life on the entire universe.
Augustus Sinclair: Walking into the Avangers ambush Thanos would say: "What is this?" And Jay's Captain America would say: "It is exactly what you think it is, like in that Italian movie Pieces..."

In Winter Soldier, they acknowledge that Star Wars exists in the Marvel universe. That means that there is a 50% chance that anyone in the main cast of the new Star Wars movies dies, and there is a 50% chance that any of the awful studio execs who push all this crap out were killed. Thanos is the savior of the movie industry
Brent Clouda Sure ... He's clearly delusional as fuck, if the infinity stones could do anything then why not lower fertility rates so the population can fix itself or make infinite bags of food just fall from the sky. His plan was relying heavily on chance, he could easily end up with the half of the population that never stops popping out babies and the population would just go right up in no time. Pointless really.
Thanos is powerful, but he has very limited to no imagination at all, really all he is doing is trying to implement the same solution he once settled on for his own planet, holding on to it against the voices of the universe telling him no. It might be a trait of his people, and why they failed to solve their problems. Also why, despite him having several stones, he almost failed in the fight against Iron mans team.

Lenny Ztrobos Since when was Superman an psychopath?? This over-exaggerated hate of Superman is getting annoying. And fyi DC wasn't responsible for Superman's character, it was Snyder...
F44B3 All Im saying is that when I watch the movies, I get a strong sense that something is definitely wrong with the guy. Like when there´s a woman caught in some rubble, and shes reaching out to superman and he just kind of... hovers there for a moment. Like he´s taking his sweet time. Like the situation does´nt really affect him emotionally in any way. Or when Zod throws a truck at him that he casually dodges, and it explodes into the office building behind him. (Of course he does´nt look back.) And always with that same slightly annoyed expression, like he should´nt be bothered with this. It´s like every chance they get to show a bit of humanity, they make a point of making him look like an inhuman god-creature. He reminds me of Dr Manhattan, wich is probably what they where going for since Snyder LOVES the Watchmen.
F44B3 I don’t know about psychopath but him contemplating if saving a person is the right thing to do or not is unbecoming of what made Superman great.
Jay finally “hit the nail on the head”! It’s not enough to just subvert expectations but to do it in a way that is intriguing and satisfying. I would add that it also needs to show respect and love for the characters and storyline.

Infinity War is based on actual battles that actually took place in the Marvel Universe. So here's this giant Peter Dinklage. Attack its weak point for massive damage.
The thing that makes Thanos such a great villain, is that he views his destiny as a burden of horrible tasks, he sees it as something that HAS to be done, and he is the only one who can shoulder the terrible burden of making it happen.
I was reading a comment that someone had made about Infinity War last night, and they mentioned it’s the journey of the characters that matters; we know the outcome of these characters, we know the ones that “died” at random will be back...but it’s HOW they make their return which will be worth watching.
Taj Campbell It really won't, because how they'll come back is obvious, they'll get the infinity gauntlet and bring them back. Or get some similar device and do the same thing. Either way nobody is gone and nobody will be shocked when they come back.
Personally, I loved the Sense of Right Alliance: Infinite Battle. The scene where Shrek sacrifices himself to save Lightning McQueen and Batman was heart-wrenching.
Perhaps he needed to know where all of them are? They were all recently used, perhaps located, and he wanted to get them all in quick succession, incase people opposed him.
*SPOILERS* Jay and Rich horribly overestimate modern adult audiences ability to understand how franchise films work, I went opening night and not only were there a lot of people crying in the theater, I have overheard over this weekend multiple people expressing dismay and confusion about whether the film will have a second part. Full grown adults are apparently unaware that this movie is getting a sequel to undo the death of the freshly minted new king of Marvel solo superhero movies, and that's not even counting the death of Spider-Man.
I saw a Tumblr post (surprise!) going around discouraging people from seeing it, especially if they're "poc" because you know why. Like they're really indignant about it.
Justin Wood it’s not that people are gullible enough to think that they’re gonna stay dead forever, but just the emotional impact of seeing these characters die regardless in an eerie sense and end the movie on a depressing note where the villain won, for the most part at least. But the ones thinking that there won’t be a sequel are gullible dumbasses, I will agree.
At the ending like 4 people cried out NOOOo or were otherwise in visible anguish. What a great movie and great they made people feel something other then warm and fuzzy.
Lazypackmule Possible. Wasn't around to see that in theaters but I would imagine somewhat of a similar impact. I'd argue Empire Strikes ended on a slightly more positive note and no deaths of main characters.
The marvel cinematic universe works because the films have always been structured the same way a television series is structured. Individual movies are 2 hour long episodes that slowly build to the Big Event Movie (or the season finale). This is why DC and every other movie studio constantly fails at "trying" to make a shared universe. The keyword is PATIENCE
10 years and 18 films vs ??? Not trying to be sarcastic but children that grew up watching all the origins films are already old enough to see it as their childhood heroes on the big screen. It's the Disney way of targeting a young demographic then pulling them along in an never-ending ride.

I think what Infinity War did better than The Last Jedi was that even that there were a lot of subplots happening at the same time, they were always changing in meaningful ways on themselves, and sometimes even starting new ones, while in the last jedi... nothing meaningful happened until near the end of the movie.
It was a harrowing story about a man who suffers adversity and challenge at every turn he doesn't give up, and he fights for what he believes in a better universe where people have enough to go around where people don't have to go hungry any more We see his love for a small girl, and how she disowns him later on in life and how he tells her he still loves her, but even then, has to sacrifice everything, including his only love - her - for what he believes in. He is attacked, and no-one takes time to listen to him... but he has the courage of his convictions to work his whole life towards this greater good. He has a few believers who share his beliefs, but they are slaughtered trying desperately to help him get what he needs to get the job done. but it all comes right in the end... at least for the universe that he is trying to save. but oh, the sacrifice. Very relatable, I just don't know why it was called Avengers:Infinity war, it should've been titled Thanos: Infinity Quest.
As others have said, a villain who thinks they're doing good is compelling. Of course as even these hackfauds said, if you have the the glove and can alter the reality of the universe at will, it says something about you that your idea is to kill trillions and not use the glove in some other fashion to fix the situation. That's why he's a psychopath.
KinnonP Disgusting!! The thought that people think that what this psychopath did is in any way admirable or relatable is disturbing. It's not over thinking it to realize just how powerful the gauntlet is and that Thanos had another choice. To be clear, his desire for balance if that means peace, no famine, etc. is fine and I say that's admirable. But his METHOD to get there which is the point is especially horrible because another choice is available.
You're wrong about the ending only being a downer! Thanos, the films protagonists, sits down and smiles! He's happy! It's a happy ending!
I was really satisfied. I've cared very little for comics, save for Thanos, when I first read Infinity Gauntlet back in 91.

Holy shit! Mike didn't compare Thanos snapping his fingers to Q from Star Trek!
He will
Nah, the Star Trek episode he was talking about was a way more obvious connection. I was reminded of it, too, and I am not even a trekie...the story went that the help the planet waited for arrived in time, so the whole killing was entirely useless in the end. Most of the episode is about exploring the guy who ordered the killing, and if I remember correctly, in the end he starts to doubt himself.
Now i just wanna see an edit where he snaps his fingers and ends up in that white dimension seeing gamora, except gamora is Q lol
swanpride He's not limited to making one Star Trek reference per review.
He is, however, contractually obligated to make at least on Star Trek reference per review.

@@GeorgeMonet You must like your villans to be wet bread. I'd rather have a villans that's is near unstoppable. Makes the movie more intense.

It’s a dumb comment. You don’t know anything Jay.
It's been around since the death of Superman.''No one's ever really gone'' was true for comics before it was for Star Wars.
If you watch Kevin Feige's most recent interviews with Rotten Tomatoes, he talks about how he could talk about Star Trek for hours. COINCIDENCE?!
ElTomo what if that’s also the reason they had that gardens of the galaxy joke in volume 2.
(The rebooted Thanos origin heavily implied that his conversations with Death were all in his head.)
As for the lines, two things stood out.
The cgi for thanos made steppenwolf look like an Atari game.
r modric so true 🤣🤣😂😂😂
The CGI for the whole movie was spot on. And this movie had an eff-ton of CGI.
Someone pointed out that the reason Black Panther's CGI was sub-par is perhaps because Infinity War was tying up all the best CG artists... That seems like it could be true.
Geek Owt Lowd I disagree. I enjoy the movie but especially with Tony and Spider-man on Titan. The CGI is horrible. They looked like floating heads in a some sci fi videogame world. Even their suits were CGI. Which is weird because there is bts footage of RDJ wearing a practical torso piece.
Vinny Banana Lmaoo you probably saw the movie on an Android because there suits looked crispy af in IMAX.
Vinny Banana
I guess sometimes the faces look a little weird on the cgi suits.

How do they do it
Well come on how else would they pull of end game? Rocket science it ain’t.

One complaint I see a lot is "Why did Thanos wait so long to go after the stones?"
This is an easy one to answer.
Josh Shockley I like to think that it was Odin and the Ancient One on Earth that was standing in his way.
Bullshit. Odin was basically no where to be found and presumed dead since like 2013.
Still, Asgard still stood.
Josh Shockley for basically no good reason. Meh it's a nitpick. It's fine. Movie still good lol
Not a nitpick. A huge issue of internal logic and consistency. Like, having some standards and wanting *some* decent explanations instead of being a fanboy shill.
James Gunn apparently did write the Guardians parts of the film.

*A YEAR LATER*
yeah I was thinking that comment aged beautifully
you mean...
FIVE
YEARS
LATER?
I’ve travelled here from the future to answer “How do you top this?”
-You don’t. They never do.
But whatever.
well, he needed the guantelet to hold the power stone, and he couldn't get it done until asgard stopped protecting nivaladir after ragnarok
At the end, where Thanos looks over at the world he destroyed and the Avengers died, and the movie ended-- someone yelled out, "That's not how it's supposed to end!"
Fus Sanchez The ending was great to me.
I like tragic endings, though it is obviously temporary until the next part.
This video is the most exciting thing to happen in my life since my last prostrate exam

I understand your complaint for most movies but if you've been watching this series of movies you should have a good idea what you're in for even without an in depth review. TBH, all I need to hear from these guys is their recommendation to watch the movie and then I can come back and watch the full review after I've seen it.
"Man Barely Got Punched" is officially going to be tattooed on my left calf.

You should add that scene at the end where Thanos sits and stares out in the sky, smiling. I kind of felt happy for him. If you REALLY set your mind to something, you can accomplish anything. Including destroying half of life on the entire universe.
Classy move sir, Thanos Approves. Bravo
He’s chillin in the Shire in Hobbiton Lol
While you're already desecrating your body, could you also tattoo 'Kars4kids.com' on your forehead?
"It's hard to put the brakes on the money train"
Disney: "Run it off the tracks!"
Jay Bauman should be new Captain America after Chris Evans.
Captain Fraud
Idris Nabhani He does look like Cap from First Avenger, before he got the super serum.
Nah the next captain America will be played by Jennifer Lawrence or some shit like that.
Augustus Sinclair: Walking into the Avangers ambush Thanos would say: "What is this?" And Jay's Captain America would say: "It is exactly what you think it is, like in that Italian movie Pieces..."
DangerDan Jennifer Lawrence would be an Captain Americana... After Cap's decision to change his gender... New twist everyone, Feige watch and learn, you will need this into Phase 15 of MCU.
In Winter Soldier, they acknowledge that Star Wars exists in the Marvel universe. That means that there is a 50% chance that anyone in the main cast of the new Star Wars movies dies, and there is a 50% chance that any of the awful studio execs who push all this crap out were killed. Thanos is the savior of the movie industry
john gleason And in Civil War. The Russos love old Star Wars
And in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Thanos did nothing wrong...
Brent Clouda
Sure ...
It's like Red Letter Media aimed for DC's head and actually killed it.
If anyone killed DC, it was DC themselves. Specifically Zach Snyder if you want to put the blame on one person.
DC STUDIOS - "What would make superman an interesting character? I know, lets make him more realistic and relatable. Like a real person but with amazing power!"
DC STUDIOS - *Makes Superman into an uncaring asshole borderline psychopath who needs to be constantly hugged and kissed by his mother and girlfriend to remind him not to kill everyone*
DC STUDIOS - "There, realistic and completely relatable. This is exactly why people responds to this character. And the fans will love it"
Lenny Ztrobos Since when was Superman an psychopath??
1986, Optimus Prime, so many children weeping.
Paul Spurgeon TOO SOON
Paul Spurgeon 2018, those children from 1986 and some whi have grown up with the MCU just see their heroes die. It all comes full circle. Hoping to see it soon!
I didn't watch the movie, I remember being so confused when the new cartoon season started and Optimus had been replaced by that other asshole as the leader.
I remember being in the theatre for that and definitely felt there were shadows of that in this film with kids watching Avengers
Can't believe they had another robot die and turn grey in this one.
GIANT PETER DINKLAGE
EXPECTATIONS SUBVERTED
Giant Dinklage
Infinity War is based on actual battles that actually took place in the Marvel Universe. So here's this giant Peter Dinklage. Attack its weak point for massive damage.
Callum GIANT DEAD VERNE TROYER
Peter Biglage
The thing that makes Thanos such a great villain, is that he views his destiny as a burden of horrible tasks, he sees it as something that HAS to be done, and he is the only one who can shoulder the terrible burden of making it happen.
'Did you do it?'
'Yes.'
'What did it cost you?'
'...Everything.'
Oh he had soo many good lines! That was a chilling moment
The best villains are the one who believe what they are doing completely.
Thanos/Brolin was really convincing at that.
It's almost like Thanos is the Marvel version of Superman from the DC Cinematic Universe.
he also tortures one human every year on his birthday because he can
I liked the silence in the movie when half the population turned to ashes.
I was reading a comment that someone had made about Infinity War last night, and they mentioned it’s the journey of the characters that matters; we know the outcome of these characters, we know the ones that “died” at random will be back...but it’s HOW they make their return which will be worth watching.
Taj Campbell I hope they’re right
They're gonna gather the dragon balls and wish everyone back to life like usual.
Yellow lightning McQueen is my favorite character
McQueen has always held a special place for me, it's a shame that Thanos Griffin sacrificed him to Ness the skeleton.
I CLAPPED BECAUSE I KNOW JONTRON!!!
Honestly, while everyone else was hyping up Infinity War, I was hyping up Half in the Bag: Infinity War.
Think the reason thanos only now got the stones are because
Odin dead. Ego dead. Ancient one dead. Hela dead. Needed the space stone to transport.
Perhaps he needed to know where all of them are? They were all recently used, perhaps located, and he wanted to get them all in quick succession, incase people opposed him.
And he saw in Nebula’s memory that he’d already won and how and when.
@@ThatBlakeCampbell that's a different timeline
*SPOILERS*
Jay and Rich horribly overestimate modern adult audiences ability to understand how franchise films work, I went opening night and not only were there a lot of people crying in the theater, I have overheard over this weekend multiple people expressing dismay and confusion about whether the film will have a second part. Full grown adults are apparently unaware that this movie is getting a sequel to undo the death of the freshly minted new king of Marvel solo superhero movies, and that's not even counting the death of Spider-Man.
Plus didn't a producer say the net Spider Man movie starts minutes after the next Avengers movie?
I saw a Tumblr post (surprise!) going around discouraging people from seeing it, especially if they're "poc" because you know why. Like they're really indignant about it.
Justin Wood it’s not that people are gullible enough to think that they’re gonna stay dead forever, but just the emotional impact of seeing these characters die regardless in an eerie sense and end the movie on a depressing note where the villain won, for the most part at least. But the ones thinking that there won’t be a sequel are gullible dumbasses, I will agree.
Clearly these people couldn’t handle dragon ball. Oh no Yamcha is dead! Forever!
F.A. ubrey Yeah I love dragon Ball and all its absurdity but the meaningless of death always bothered me
We kept telling Thanos to piss or get off the pot. And piss he did.
Thanos pisses sitting down?
Whilst daring you to criticize him.
So you're trying to say that...
IT BROKE NEW GROUND???!!!
20:48 Jay: "It's like overthinking a time travel movie."
Holy shit guys, 2 for 2 so far.
When you watch a comedy show nowadays, "Simpsons did it."
When you watch a Red Letter Media review, "Star Trek did it."
At the ending like 4 people cried out NOOOo or were otherwise in visible anguish. What a great movie and great they made people feel something other then warm and fuzzy.
"At the ending like 4 people cried out NOOOo"
So you're saying it really was just like empire strikes back
Lazypackmule Possible. Wasn't around to see that in theaters but I would imagine somewhat of a similar impact. I'd argue Empire Strikes ended on a slightly more positive note and no deaths of main characters.
That was a joke, but yes
Lazypackmule I know! Wasn't a bad comment on its face though.
I heard the sobbing of a bunch of children at the end of the movie.
Geoff Johns: "Okay we have to take this slowly"
WB Exec: "BUT I WANT THE MONEY KNOW"
Dazed Gypsy dc wants to play catch up, but it takes time. Marvel took ten years to make something huge or 4 years if it avengers the first one.
10 years and 18 films vs ???
Not trying to be sarcastic but children that grew up watching all the origins films are already old enough to see it as their childhood heroes on the big screen.
It's the Disney way of targeting a young demographic then pulling them along in an never-ending ride.
Dwarves were originally giants in Norse mythology. Hence, casting the best known dwarf as a giant..dwarf.
@@penguinpanda00 That's actually the fault of the guy who wrote the Eda's, he personally got the dwarves and dark elves (svartalves i think been a while since that class) mixed up
All I know is that in mythology Loki was a Frost Giant but also a dwarf, that is why he is the size of humans
@@johnnyskinwalker4095 giants aren't giant in Norse mythology, it's a mistranslation like dwarves is. Giants should have been translated to something more like "devourers" and in fact no mention is made of dwarves hight. It's all bad mistranslations
@@nettleleaves8224 What are you talking about, giants are giants. That is why they were tales of Thor outdrinking giants cause of the difference in size and he would still beat them. Cause he was that amazing.
I think what Infinity War did better than The Last Jedi was that even that there were a lot of subplots happening at the same time, they were always changing in meaningful ways on themselves, and sometimes even starting new ones, while in the last jedi... nothing meaningful happened until near the end of the movie.
All that just to show us the Kevin Feige follows you on twitter.
It was a harrowing story about a man who suffers adversity and challenge at every turn
he doesn't give up, and he fights for what he believes in
a better universe where people have enough to go around
where people don't have to go hungry any more
We see his love for a small girl, and how she disowns him later on in life
and how he tells her he still loves her, but even then, has to sacrifice everything, including his only love - her - for what he believes in.
KinnonP Thanos being something close to a protagonist is a major component of why the movie worked.
So it's about family.
It's titled Avengers for marketing purposes.
"My expectations were subverted."
