- Part three of the cattle panel greenhouse build. Framing the door and end wall support, including a trick to make a curved frame wood support without special tools.
Thank you for sharing that technique for bending the boards!
Love your greenhouse,,,,you did a good job....hands up to you man....👍👍👍💪
Thank you!! Before winter we’ll be closing it in. Thanks for watching!
I am thinking about doing this for a tractor shed. I was thinking 4’ walls and 10’ Accross like yours. The only difference is I will have mine shrink wrapped. And 1”X8” boards down the 4’ sides.
I’m curious how the shrink wrap works out. We use ours for storage off season too. Thanks for watching!
I'm curious to know your method for measuring the length of board you need to be able to cut, and curve, the wooden roof arches. I know you mentioned you made the cuts 4" apart and about 6-7/8ths through the board. What about flipping it upside down to be able to brush some wood glue in the cuts too give the board way more strength ? Im sure it would be a bit messy but Im guessing the front and back wooden walls secured to it, gives it the additional strength ?
Hi, I measure the arch and add a few inches, then I cut off as needed to fit the arch.
With 24” sides what was your door frame height ??
Hi, I’m sorry to have missed your comment. The door height is 5’9” tall.
What is the total height from the ground to the top of the cattle panel in the center?
Thank you!
Hi Joe, it is 7 1/2 feet tall inside.
@@SpringdalecottageThank you! Kids coming this Saturday to help Dad build one.
@@josepheveretts7669 I’m working on one mine is 10’ by 10’ 36 in sides with total height of 8’ 2”
@@Springdalecottage Would it work to make one wider and give up some height?
Another 18" ? Maybe run a stringer down the middle to pull the apex down.
What are your dimensions please, thank you from Iowa!
Hi Don! It is 12’ by 20’
Are these cattle panels 50" x 16 feet long?
Yes
@@Springdalecottage Thanks!
@@Springdalecottage Have you had any issues with the cattle panels being flimsy when extended over 12'? I'm worried it won't be able to maintain shape or handle high winds.
No, not at all. It’s held up good with the center beam.
@@Springdalecottage would you consider the center beam necessary?
Title of video Easy Curved Wood Frame...
00:00 - 17:30 No curved wood
17:32 Sudden magically appearing curved wood with no explanation
18:05 Sudden & unexpected explanation "I made a cut every 4 inches...not all the way through ... left about 1/4 inch..." ----- IS THAT A 2X6, 2X4??? How long is the board (maybe 5.5 ft based on how many cuts you made)? How did you cut it? Does it matter what kind of wood is used? What did you use to attach it (screws, nails, brads, combo)?
I came here for "Easy Curved Wood Frame" and got TEN SECONDS of "look what I did!"
C'mon man, teacher gotta teach!
when you spend all your money on Milwaukee tools so cattle panel is all you can afford.
You don’t have to spend a lot to grow food. The cattle panel hoop house serves our needs. Thanks for watching. 😊
Depends where you live and how many you plan to feed.
