The Best Greenhouse Snow Removal Tool
Переглядів 3235 місяців тому
We have to keep the snow off the cattle panels before it gets too heavy. Usually we use a broom but that can rip the plastic. This tool works great and it’s gentle enough to not damage anything.

A color we all can agree on! We have been washing and painting around the homestead, getting maintenance done before winter comes. Dave created a signature color that we are using for the workshop and the greenhouses. Power washing and painting through the to do list.
Replacing the Plastic on the Cattle Panel Greenhouse #garden
Переглядів 2 тис.9 місяців тому
We use plastic sheeting that is not UV resistant on the hoop house. It is an economical way for us to extend our growing season here in Northern Michigan. Because the plastic will start to break down from exposure, we have to replace it every couple of years. With a couple of people working on it, it only takes a couple of hours from start to finish.
Build a Dutch Door for the Cattle Panel Greenhouse
Переглядів 2,4 тис.9 місяців тому
It’s time to get a door on the cattle panel greenhouse. It’s the final step in building this 12 foot wide hoop house. Dave built an easy Dutch door out of milled lumber that matches the siding. It turned out great! We do plan to add a window when we find one. Thanks for your support and thanks for watching!

Another Successful Growing Season in the Greenhouse #peppers #food #greenhouse

I grew eight jalapeño plants inside my cattle panel hoop hoop house this year. Our garden is in northern Michigan and we don’t get as hot in the summer so growing in the hoop house greatly increases our harvest. I’m thrilled with the results! Come along as I chat about growing peppers inside and how I preserve them.
Easy! Repurposed Water Feature #water #artisan #diy #garden

I found a lightweight resin water fountain at a yard sale for $3! It actually works great and I set it up in my porch garden. The sound of running water was so nice but honestly I didn’t like the way it looked. So I decided to repurpose it with some paver bricks I already had and create a water feature in my garden. It turned out great! I wanted the look of an old artisan well. We actually have...

Awesome job!
Wanted to provide an update about the strength of this particular build. On May 31st, we here in central Texas had a pretty harsh storm hit us with straight-line winds of 75mph and baseball size hail. We lost many portions of 100+ year old oaks and I expected the greenhouses to be gone. Both greenhouse weathered the storm and did not budge an inch. We had an earlier storm two weeks prior which produced golfball size hail and the 6 mil plastic sustained no damage, and the hail bounced off. I was impressed! The baseball size hail did punch through but only in about 10 places, and only caused small holes, which I believe I can patch. These builds are strong, I can attest to that!
So glad you’re ok!!
Thank you so much, Mel.
Nice job. What size pipe? Nevermind, 2" as stated below.
What are the measurements? How wide is it? I know it's 3feet high.
How long is the cable wire
Smart design
Beautiful!!
hello I was wondering where I can fine the rolls of reinforced plastic???
Hi! We buy them at Menards, but Home Depot sells it too. Thanks for watching!
Great job! Can I ask why you raised the panels onto a frame instead of anchoring them into the ground? And how high did you raise the frame?
There is a decent amount of spring in these cattle panels, the frame helps hold it secure. Also, raising the frame up and then putting the cattle panel above that gives more interior height. I built something similar but used 2x12 lumber and framed out raised beds then mounted the cattle panel on top of that. This gives me about 7' height in the center so easily tall enough to walk into the tunnel. Hope that helps
Thank you so much for these videos. Great series! Super helpful!! He did some really cool things that make it a better build than any I’ve seen like the curved front and back frame boards for example and I love the door. The use of the t posts to build the frame is genius and secures it extremely well. I imagine it is stronger than if one put four posts in the ground and much less work. It is secured in ground at several points and that must give it some good resistance to wind. Anyway, I like your style-straight forward and not fussy. Thank you again for taking the time to share. Subscribed ❤
AND thanks for the updates and additions like replacing the plastic!! TYTYTY.
Thank you so much for watching!
Built not one, but two, side by side. Extremely happy with them, very sound and very STRONG. Thanks for doing this video….best I’ve seen on a cattle panel build!!!
Never job

Excellent step by step tutorial. Going to try and replicate
Not UV rated this concerns me. How long have you had this cover outdoors on the greenhouse?
Title of video Easy Curved Wood Frame... 00:00 - 17:30 No curved wood 17:32 Sudden magically appearing curved wood with no explanation 18:05 Sudden & unexpected explanation "I made a cut every 4 inches...not all the way through ... left about 1/4 inch..." ----- IS THAT A 2X6, 2X4??? How long is the board (maybe 5.5 ft based on how many cuts you made)? How did you cut it? Does it matter what kind of wood is used? What did you use to attach it (screws, nails, brads, combo)? I came here for "Easy Curved Wood Frame" and got TEN SECONDS of "look what I did!" C'mon man, teacher gotta teach!
You spent more money on wood than you will ever get from that greenhouse in food savings i've done the math, plus if you're going that kind of money just make a greenhouse, these hoops are good until a big storm and plastic has to be changed every few years, i have 3 greenhouses running 10 months a year.
The wood was free, milled up on our sawmill. We use what we have. 😊
Hi 👋 it’s a lovely video… could you please make more videos of removing snow piled up on flat boxes next to hoop house … using same tool.. please thanks
Cool deal
Nah thats a boat
Very Well Done Sir! Did you cut the slot with a Grinder? A torch would have likely distorted the Pipe. Sched 40 2"?
Genius. Well done!
If you’d market that system you’d make millions!
Ingenious
CLEVER ... very clever. Nicely done. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
Interesting method for canning grape juice. How long do you normally let them sit on the shelves before enjoying the juice?
The grandkids drank some right away! But generally a month is good. 😊
I have enjoyed watching your various videos on the Cattle Panel Greenhouse builds. I am located in the Cedar Springs area of lower Michigan and have been reviewing many videos. Your husband has done a great job, thank you for the postings.
Thank you Robert! He’s definitely a handy guy!
I live on a private road and my plow always tears it up until the ground freezes. And with our crazy weather patterns it doesn't freeze up most seasons. I thought about using the shoe holes to hold it in the slot similar to how you have it. Then I could just unpin the shoe links and store it on another set of hole brackets on top. Great system you have by the way! Thanks for sharing
Nice job. I came across your video by accident, but really glad I did. Plan of outfitting my plow this weekend.
Smart man!🙏👏👍🇸🇪
Im doing this right now. Thanks for the video, made my life easier
thanks for sharing. Simple and effective!
Rough estimate of the cost?
It’s hard to say because the wood was ours. The cattle panels were $30 each I believe.
when you spend all your money on Milwaukee tools so cattle panel is all you can afford.
You don’t have to spend a lot to grow food. The cattle panel hoop house serves our needs. Thanks for watching. 😊
Depends where you live and how many you plan to feed.
I was wondering if it is resistant to UV radiation over time? I sure appreciate the update.
Unfortunately it’s not. Still going to have to replace at some point. Thanks for watching!
Looks Great
What fid u use to cut the line across
It’s a gas powered concrete cut off saw with a fiber blade for cutting steel.
You can use an angle grinder with a fiber wheel.
Absolutely beautiful puppies.
thanks for this video.. I want to recommend it on my channel.. I'd like to include a 3 or 4 second snippet of this video. If thats ok, I'll link your video in the description ..maybe drive some viewer traffic your way! 😃
That sounds great! Thank you 😊
I cringed every time you threw the pin on the hood. 🙂
😂😂😂😂 💯
Nice. Thank You.
