Man this is a perfect addition to my toolkit. Still like the hip toss, btb suplex, and running through a single leg. Anyone else got general grappling advice( Wrestling, Judo, BJJ, or MMA) for a rusty heavyweight.
so this isn't really advice but i think it could work if you get an underhook and then rap around into a bear hug go forward and bring you foot up and put in the bend of the leg and trip them
Love the head and arm, I’m 235 lbs and it’s been my go to move for two years. I went my entire junior and senior year using just that move and won state both those years.
I love it when kids try to put me in the hip toss it’s so easy to counter all you have to do is act like your about to sit down lift them up then slam them
Blast double are the best for a heavyweights in my opinion because if I was wrestling a guy like you that was more upper body. You would alway try to get a hand on my head and wrist control I would fight for wrist control and pop up the other hand and either go for a single or double leg
Been 16 years, but I was always in the 250 to 275 weight groups. Looking back on it, I missed out on so many wins by being afraid of a power double or even a single. When I'd wrestle a light 275, they'd always win just because they'd chop the tree down at the legs.
When you get him to the ground and your on backmount what is the next best technique, I’m commenting before searching through your channel but this is where I always get less advantage because I was never taught what to do when on this position… I’ve only learned from family that has wrestled
Bruh the head through so butt I haven never used it but almost all the kids that used it on me fell befor I did ez 2 and I Wrestling heavy weight and I am 212 🥲
It's a sag headlock it works at a high level unlike the traditional headlock that middle schoolers spam where you step with both feet and it's like a 90% chance the opponent gets their head and hips out and mat return the guy that did the headlock
“This is how to be a Heavyweight wrestler:” “ INTENSE HEAVYWEIGHT NOISES”
😂😂
it be like that tho
Other wrestlers: Gosh, I’m tired of weight watching, I want my 2 lb allowance!
Me: Laughs in Heavyweight
I gotta cut to be heavyweight lmao 😭
@@notoriousnutter958 I’m only 8 oz over
When I joined I was exactly 285 then I started getting good then the weight started falling off and now all of a sudden I’m 250

Also now a days the majority collage heavyweight are lighter like in the 220-260 to because they are faster to do more moves like double and singles
240 pound freshman me in high school 😂
I’m 205 but I’m training like a heavyweight, only learning high crotch single and double and then my upper body wrestling is great 👍
I’m 257lb freshman 😂, I’m not exactly good at setting up shots.
Heavyweight Wrestling Basics
1. Bear Hug
2. Headlock

Super easy to counter, and you could also push and circle out
Only if it’s done wrong, if done right your going airborne
Thank you I just started and I'm having trouble
I needed this
Nothing better than teaching technique in cargo pants and socks 😂
Wow thanks bro

Man doing Double legs in heavyweight class is hard you need to be a beast to do it
And then he just sprawls on your neck.

Can I use this in a match in 2021
yes
The day I weighed 230 my coaches said your wrestling 285
Yeah, that’s what happened to my friend, in his first tournament, he had to wrestle (and I quote) “A whole ass house”
Yea if you bust 215 it's just heavyweight from there
