Your reactions are a vibe! Please I've tried getting somebody to react to a little bit of New Zealand music, we are so underground and is a gem to be found. Please check out a rap group called SWIDT(swidit) and their project called 'the most electrifying' EP. It's something that'll be fresh and new to everyone

W person
I’m just hear for her reaction to Me And Your Mama
same lol
Personally i think baby boy is the most underrated Bino Song Ever
Everybody's first reaction is like watching a complex magic trick being performed in front of them lmao
hahaha me too, one of my favourite songs
Watching people's reactions to the beat switch on "Me and Your Mama" will never get old🤣
indeed bro😂
Fr bruh they just look so surprised and caught off guard from the switch. It’s too funny.
Gambino's "Because of the Internet" is fantastic. You'd enjoy it.
i think because the internet is a masterpiece
One of the best projects ever in my opinion. Full album, full screenplay, and a whole short movie.
Yeeees!
I’m just gonna add on to this comment cuz I’ve said it before. Because the Internet is the one that converted all of us to love his work.
HIS BEST ALBUM!!
Me and your mama is one of my favorite transition of all time, the soul hits me
FINALLY YOU REACTED TO MY FAVOURITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME
This album is so different. Top 5 all time for me
Malibu by Anderson .Paak is an album I have to see you react to!
YES, PLEASE!!!
Honestly I LOVE the way you do reactions. You just...react to the music. The vibe of the music and the soul behind it and sometimes you dont have words to describe the groove the music gives yoy just gotta dance to show it. Truly shows the artist connects and all.
It will forever impress me that there’s no post-recording vocal manipulation on redbone, it’s all 100% gambino 😭😭🔥
I mean he does double his vocal track in some points and like harmonizes with himself which is kinda like a form of auto-tune in the sense that he can't do that live as well because it would be him harmonizing with another track of him singing it. But that's me being nitpicky I'm actually a huge Gambino fan and I love that song
dont believe everything you hear on the internet, even live performances are autotuned
@@joezic Gambino literally sings without autotune on his concerts in redbone more than anything, is just pure falsetto.
@@joezic i was at the first concert he did of this album (pharos) and i can confirm there was not autotune - he can sing this shit straight up. it was glorious
@@lnstks96 I think what the person was trying to say is that the tone of his voice in the recording is not manipulated by an effect. There might be autotune on it, I'm not familiar with the behind the scenes details of the album despite having heard it 1000x lol. But people were extremely impressed when he performed it live the first time, it was a whole thing and people said he "sounded like a woman" so I'm sure that's what they meant. Doubling is not a form of autotune though, autotune is strictly pitch correction/manipulation. The point of doubling is just to add depth to the sonics of the song, people double and triple guitar tracks and add synthetic kicks onto drum tracks recorded by actual humans. I'm sure you knew what you meant and just said it wrong, just adding some fun production info in there for ya, have a nice day friend :)
This album is absolutely a WORK OF ART. my favorite is Stand Tall and Me and Your Mama
You should totally do his other album Because The Internet. It’s fantastic
yeees
It is, and why should she do it?...
This album is a rollercoaster of emotions, isn't it? I couldn't predict what was gonna happen next! 😁
Thank you for the reaction, Shelby & Happy Easter, if you celebrate it! 😊🐰
You've gotta give his album "Because the Internet" a listen, it's very different in almost every way, but it's my favorite album of all time. The album is more rap/hip-hop, but it still has the amazing production, sound, and lyrics that Gambino always brings. They're both produced by Ludwig Göransson, Gambino's main producer and collaborator for all his musical work. They actually met on the set of Community, he Donald of course playing Troy Barnes in the show and Ludwig doing the music. You may also know some of Ludwig's work without realizing it, he composed the soundtrack for The Mandalorian, TENET, Venom, Black Panther, and more. There is also a whole 70 page screenplay and short film that goes along with the album, but they are not necessary for the experience, just bonus.
When I first listened to this album my favorite song was redbone, but after a few listenings baby boy has really grown on me
I'd love to see you do The Life Of Pablo by Kanye
Hell yea! Any Kanye album tbh. He doesn’t have a bad one
Late Registration or Kids See Ghosts I think she'd love
She's a huge Kanye fan and has already listened to most of his discog
amazing reaction! so glad to see this one. you captured how so many of us felt when we heard this album for the first time!
i remember the first time i heard this album was live at this event he held, PHAROS, back in 2016 a few months before it actually released to the public. i had just turned 18 and moved across the country for college. it was this... gathering, i suppose. a concert, sure, but more than just that. a few thousand people gathered inside a small campground in joshua tree, california, right in the middle of the desert. i remember stepping into this dome he had his team put together - the spot he performed - and being awed from start to finish. he had these incredible visuals of space, planets and the extraterrestrial and nature on the walls and ceilings, a live band, and himself, dressed head-to-toe in this bizarre tribal alien garb with white masks and yellow feathers. they’d locked our phones up upon entry so i have no pictures or videos from that day (though some photos have leaked over the years) but it was a once in a lifetime experience and such a jarring but beautiful departure from the music he’d made up until that point.
here’s the obligatory “because the internet” and “3.15.20” reaction recommendation to get the full scope of childish gambino’s artistic progression
It’s an album that’s so loveable to a true music fan, so much variety in every track on the album!
I wish I could listen to this again for the first time
Please, please, please, do Because the Internet! that album and this album are his two best pieces of work and they are very very different. Like to a degree that you really need to listen to Because the Internet to understand Gambino as an artist.
So glad you chose to review this one. The different voices and personalities Gambino takes on come from his experience as an actor and storyteller. If you watch him live, he adopts those personas with so much ease. It's like watching a one-man show
i mostly watch AML reactions for the transition on Me and Your Mama
do flower boy
Yayyyy! I'm so stoked for this one. Donald Glover is a genius!
How do you not have more subscribers you’re super entertaining, has very good takes and you’re cute!
Haha, I love your reaction to the transitions in Stand Tall! Awaken, My Love is my favorite Gambino record.
The musicality is just spectacular throughout & Donald pushes his voice to different heights never expected (like his androgynous voice on Redbone & Baby Boy). It’s great how you could hear he truly studied & nailed the sounds of his influences.
Where's the guy with time stamp at😂
Some albums you might like:
Thundercat - It Is What It Is
Erykah Badu - New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh)
Crumb - Crumb (EP) & Locket (EP)
CARR TOONS - Saturday Morning
Yussef Dayes & Tom Misch - What Kinda Music
Enjoy !
The production, mixing and sound design and everything related to that were absolutely sublime on this album...
Love this album so much! So glad you're reacting!!
To this day I’m still in awe that this is his actual voice💜
I really like your reaction videos because not only do you it with enthusiasm (which is great for us lonely covid lockdown people, yearning for human interaction), you also point out and talk about elements that stand out to you, and you draw on your apparent knowledge of music history to put things into context a bit. A lot of other channels are basically just "hell yeah this is great!" without any real insights or knowledge, which I find pretty useless. So keep it up :)
After countless listens stand tall still gets me like its my first time
thats the video ive been waitin for.
fun fact, there was no pitch correction done for the vocals (for glover at least). The only ‘auto tune’ used in the album was for effect and not correction. So everything you’re hearing is raw !!
Oh my god, I love this album. Nice video, Shelby! As usual
His live performance of Terrified at the Grammy’s is also incredible, so may say even better !!
Request reactions if you like funk and jazz mixture type of music, Thundercat Drunk and It Is What It Is albums!
If you thought "Terrified" was great on the album, PLEASE watch the live version from the Grammys, Also, there's 2 versions of "The Night Me & Your Momma Met" one with lyrics, as good as that one is, I prefer the album version because it helps continue visualize the album
Almost at 12k let’s goooo
Donald references his father in so many songs. It's so sad that his dad passed away last year 😔
I clicked SO FAST!!!
i loved it when i first heard it years ago when it came out. i knew a lot of people that did not like it cuz of the change of music but i completely saw the artistic aspects of the music and loved it. at first my favorite was me and your mama cuz of the Grundy sound with mysterious beginning then the music just hits in your face beautiful singing and then....that ending with that perfect snare beat... then the night me and your mama met cuz of the guitar. that song is beautiful too. i loved stand tall after cuz of the singing it sounded so beautiful and had a twist to it. and ultimately i ended up loving the whole thing after several listens. i got the vinyl its one of the handful i have. For him to make something like that and not be afraid to do it is amazing.
Stand tall was definitely the reaction I was waiting for
You should react to You're Dead by Flying Lotus, it's a truly incredible experience
MAGDALENE BY FKA TWIGS PLEASEEE
Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. reaction please
i've been asking for this for sooo long. alsoo congrats on almost 12k :)
This camera quality looks better 👀
You should react to “Heaven to a tortured mind” by Yves tumor
Yesss
Kerosene alone is worth it
You keep surprising me with picking my favourite albums 💓
i'm so happy you finally reacted to this😁
Yesssss! Such a great album and reaction!
loved this video! Glad i found ur channel lol
You should try 3.15.20 by childish gambino in my opinion it’s not his best but it’s so experimental
Are you familiar with Funkadelic? This album is basically a Funkadelic imitation, and I mean that in the best way possible. For anyone who's not familiar, their 1971 album Maggot Brain would be a good place to start, I think. And 'Redbone' is reminiscent of Bootsy Collins' 1976 song 'I'd Rather Be With You' (Bootsy was a member of the Funkadelic/Parliament/P-Funk collective).
Loved your review section. If you haven’t already I highly recommend checking out Frank Ocean - Endless, the album that coincided with Blond’s release
Shelby when you got some free time listen to The Night Me and Your Mama Met with headphones. In the backing of the song you can hear Gambino singing his damn heart out to the melody.
Me and your momma is a gem that came from this album, not just for bambino but for music in general.
React to Because Of the Internet! PLEASE I BEG 😭
This is the one and only album I can say is genuinely perfect through and through
I’ve got some left field for ya. I think you would love this album I’m about to suggest.
Check out the album California by the band Mr. Bungle. It is extremely interesting.
The lead singer for Mr. Bungle is Mike Patton and he is the current record holder for the widest singing range in all of recorded music. He has a range of 6 octaves. Please check this album out. It is very unique.
Listen to OutKast - Stankonia
First song makes the album. Redbone is great too & there are some others, but Me & Your Mama is one of the best modern soul songs ever, if not the best
Because the internet next !!!
Hey, perhaps a reaction to Hozier? His self-titled album or Wasteland Baby?! Keep up the good work.
What makes a good album is variety, this album has plenty of it.
This is what I needed today
Shelby, please check out Nnamdï - Brat (2020). It’s one of top albums of the year for me personally (Vice put it at number 12) but he’s so slept on and there are zero reactions so far :-(. I’m sure you’ll dig it.
You have got to listen to “because the internet”
React to DAMN by Kendrick 🙏
Thanks for the vid! Can you please do Currents next, pretty please
Look, I’ve requested this before, once, the only time I’ve ever left a request 😂 Yelawolf - Love Story
Id never heard of the man, and doubt many have and the album won’t get many, of any requests, but in 2015 I heard the album and instantly fell in love, I truly think it’s one of the greatest albums of all time - hope one day you’ll be able to get around to it, will keep requesting on one in every 10 vids as not to be annoying hehe
Thanks !
Yelawolf is pretty well known bro
@@endubless suppose so, however the album is that underrated, and barely scraped a gold certification, compared to something such as Awaken my Love, it would never, ever be requested
You should try that Trip-Hop album Mezzanine by Massive Attack! A very much urban and theatrical-like atmosphere
I will never forget hearing the Me and Your Mama beat switch for the first time. So sad we have a one and only first listening
Thank you for doing this album
Terrified live is so good
Wait... There are people that like California on the first listen? Never thought id see the day
watching people reaction to me and your mama will never get old
me and your mama will always be my favorite off the album
magdalene by fka twigs or a seat at the table by solange
To me, this is Donald Glover's Get Out (The rest of his content is his Key & Peele), coz it has horror undertones: Zombies, Boogieman, Terrified, "Niggas Creepin", Thriller nostalgia, theatrical singing.
Please do his 3.15.20 record! It came out at the beginning of the pandemic and was phenomenal. I’ve noticed that he’s not everyone cup of tea but to me he’s a genius on the level with Tyler the Creator when it comes to music. 47.48/Violence is one of my favorite songs by him.
Should definitely check out all the albums on their own, they’re all so different but I love them all.
This is my favorite album of all time, it’s just a masterpiece
love this album, thanks for that!!
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
click this sh*t so fast 😂😭
Finallyyyyy
would enjoy the incredible true story by logic !!!
Where’s that Jaden Smith reaction tho
Dreams do come true
Boogieman is my fav lol
React to Clairo - Immunity pls
Vouch!
I'm not a massive fan of all of his work accross the board, though I respect it. But this album is a masterpiece.
anyone noticed how she did Abed's cool, cool, cool, cool? 2:32
This album hits equally whether you're passionately in love or desperately hopeless lol this album is fuckin amazing and went over so may peoples heads smh.
You should react to Mac Demarco, Salad Days and 2 are my Faves :)
You should definitely react to Michael Kiwanuka’s Love & Hate
