I don’t know what it is about this build... I mean there’s nothing exceptional about it and I’m not really a fan of Mazda or rotary engines... but I just love it
Always fun to watch you work. I'm not big on these types of vehicles but, you still make it interesting with making your own oven and explaining the details of the mods. Great work!
Before you fully restore the interior, some sound deadening mats could quiet the differential whine. My favorite project, since it's the one I follow the most. Must get into the Magnum project.
maybe I missed it, I have pretty much done the full PSM setup on my 86 unicorn.. and I can tell you... do a pinion snubber with the solid mount setup. The tab WILL break on the solid diff to subframe mount without a little help from a snubber. I can't recall exactly how far I spaced mine down, but it hooks hard and never once have worried about my setup since installing it.
Cant wait til the fc is spruced up a bit more. Keen for a white paintjob? It looks really good with a sports bodykit too. Cant wait til this build gets into the looks department.
Almost bought a fc, but didn’t work out, that’s a really cool build, what color you thinkin of painting it? Going for original? Or some sick as color and livery?
Hey man pop.out the stub shafts on your s5 diff if there is alot of difference in length then its a viscous diff if they are withing say 15mm in length its a s4 diff and a clutch lsd.
17" x 9" rear wheel with a +35 offset running a 255 / 40 / 17 tire is just about perfect with no cutting, bending, clearancing anything. Modding the KM hub / arm isn't something most owners can do by themselves. For most FC's that enough rear tire for most power levels up to about 300 - 350hp. Trying to stuff 275 or wider tires in back is just too much. You cannot run really big tire up front anyways, unless you go overfenders - anything wider than 235 is next to impossible with stock fenders, even with rolled lips. Big staggers front versus rear will only reward you with understeer.
What's offset on those rims I'm having a difficult time don't want staggered but do want a lip on rear and small lip on front old school look also make a video on that lower arm mode on rear for that 10 in tire
You really should build yourself a ventilated cabin/compartment für your powdercoating. All the powder on the floor is nasty and its probably not the healthiest stuff either.
Hoping for the announcement that the FC is gonna get some paint love..

I agree, I'm loving this car, especially its rough-around-the-edges driver look
Really enjoying this project, keep them flowing dave

Love your passion for the FC, That Oven is Awesome!
Love the work, car, and choice of music. Big thumbs up.

ive searched the whole internet for this one comment, thank you

Also I’d recommend getting diff snubbers to avoid contact of the diff moving and whatnot
I used a truck bump stop with a single stud coming out of it.
Works a treat.
Has the PBM solid diff mount. Wont move unless it breaks.
Nice work on your RX7 FC3S. Also I like the license plate that it says "Dorito".
This FC project is the best!
Yup that’s what I had to do to mine still in the process of doing my whole rear end got PBM everything
FC is looking great Dave

Are you going to look for the newer type drive shaft so you can use the newer diff?

Looks really good but how come you didnt clean the underside of the car before reinstalling the rear subframe
Take care and stay safe see ya in the next one
Nice idea on comtrol arm customization a video would have been kool
Once you adjusted the camber out it'd be away from the arms anyway would it not?
top job as always dave like them wheels
The first diff you put on was a non turbo diff thats why it didnt match the turbo driveshaft
Hi Dave, just curious, why didn't you powder coat the diff while you had it apart? Looks great.!
Dave Please Please Please CLEAN THE BLODDY GLASS!!!!! thanks :)

JDM, Just Dave's Mazda.
What’s the offset on those wheels? I like the fit.
Hahaha love the plate..what made you put Dorito
Ryosuke Takahashi would be proud.
I need to fix my FC :(
Really need to do the glass bad

I notched the lower control arm I said the size in the video pretty sure rears are 17x10.5 +15
Finally Fc content
So... Something you should know... TII diffs are different from NA diffs.
Hey dave to u know if the frame will fit a mazda mx3 I want to do a red conversion and I know a lot of the parts are interchangable
Now she needs to be painted and powder coat those rims black. Just a thought
All that work why don’t you clean the old tint glue off the windows driving me nuts !!!

Sound like scarce
S4 diff is better cause its clutch type and not viscous like the s5.
Weld the diff
I want an fc 😁😁
Dave send me your old subframe and diff lol
👍
Damn...scrape that tint off...
JDM? It's left hand drive (左ハンドル). JDM means it's built for "Japanese Domestic Market"
Just Dave's Mazda
Those windows need to be tinted bad..so ugly way it is
