I've had 3 hair transplants over 12 years and now at 64 have a great head of hair. I had 2 FUT's and 1 FUE. The FUE gave the best results and I travelled to Budapest for this in 2020.
Do you take finasteride?
@@ayolucablack4832 I did try a UK product called Regaine but it didn't work for me, that's when I decided on the transplants.
Who did you see in BP? Thanks.
Do you take any fin or mox or just had the transplant? I wanna do a fut but dont want to take fin and stuff.
@@tiergeist2639 I did briefly but the results were poor. The transplants have been a great success and am really happy with them. Good luck.
You’re doing a public service through these videos. Your calm demeanor and fact based edifying vids are invaluable. How can an individual find a list of doctors who use WAW systems?
Thank you! I don’t think there’s a list. I would google it locally and options should come up.
Thanks
@@drgarylinkov is there any way you can avoid taking finasteride or rogaine I'm thinking of getting the surgery within a year letting my scalp heal before I go to surgery
Lifetime ke liye hairtansplant hotha hai sir kya
This is super helpful! You don't find that information in your typical consultation. It sounds like these methods can have a big impact on your results though. Thank you for helping people with all your expertise, Dr. Linkov.
Thank you so much for this information. Regardless of how anybody chooses to face or deal with their hair loss, we deserve to have clear sources of information like this.
I'm really grateful for your advice and being simple in explaining these options clearly. 🙏
This information is amazing. Rather than going to a random clinic and having to take their word for why the choose the method they use, we get to make educated decisions.
Hi 🙂 I’m following what your saying as the video plays, but I’m having trouble seeing how each method works with others at the same time. Could you please include comparison pictures for each topic? It would be greatly appreciative. 🙂
This was an excellent video . So much great information . Thank you !
you're awesome doctor. thanks for all of your time and videos. great stuff.
Thanks so much for this video, my girlfriends is really stressed about her hair loss and this helps a lot.
Thank you for the video post, its very helpful and informative, much appreciated !
Always great videos, to the point, and easy to understand. Thank you!
I just got an FUE from Dr Sahar Nadimi in Chicago and I cannot believe how clean her work is compared to anything else I’ve seen. I’m 1 week post and my head looks amazing. Ready for the ugly duckling stage though.
How do you like the results so far, any updates?
DR. Gary !! your are amazing, so much gold in INFO !!
Great video Dr. Linkov. Like the earnest explanation.
Great videos Dr Gary! I hope to make the trip to see you some day.
Thank you so much for your detailed explanation.
Thank you for the information. This video helped me understand the two procedures very well. l have to say that it's unfortunate that people here in the USA have to fly out of the country to get a reasonable price for these services.
I have procedure in less than 2 weeks! This video really helped me to decide on whether I would like to go with the FUE technique or the FUT technique! Thanks 😁
My pleasure! Good luck.
@@drgarylinkov thank you 😊 I'm getting my eyebrows done and a bald spot created from tension alopecia ❤
Whichone did you choose?
@@DrShan93 How was the result? I'm doing an FUT surgery and nervous and scared.
I got my eyebrows done as well as a bald spot filled in in my right temple area....via FUT!!! I love love love my results! The only problem I have is that I have to trim my eyebrows regularly, which is definitely not a problem for me! Lol. I'd rather do that vs drawing them on everyday and accidentally wiping them off during the day 🤦🏽♀️😫😩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant video - thank you for articulating the advantages of WAW 👍🏼
Thank you for such great explanations of so many different procedures and techniques.
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it.
Really appreciate this video!! Thanks!! 🙏🙏
Doc love your channel. You should discuss prices, would be a killer video.
Would the wah system work with a Strat? Kidding. Very informative video. Thanks for shedding light on the robot systems.
I (presently) have no need for a hair transplant, but your channel is great so here I am anyway telling myself 'You'll want to know this in case you start balding one day'
Can you comment on how density is affected in the donor sites with the FUE procedure?
I’m getting this done
Hey Dr hoping you can answer a question for me. I was jumped and left with a laceration above my lip that required stiches to close, Now I have a scar and unable to grow in that area. How long do I have to allow it to heal before I can have a FUE procedure done?
Doesn’t Artas automatically put your hair back in your receiving areas in a way to not damage the surrounding hair follicles?
I always enjoy all the information you give. my question on the WAW procedure is, does the physician doing more of the work as opposed to the other systems you described with the robot and the technicians? I want the most natural look (obviously). Thank you.
Great information .thank you
Thanks for the information. However this is part of the story. Can you mak a video talking about the later steps? I mean when you insert the hair back in the head
I’m a woman with no balding problems what so ever, but I love watching your videos on hair transplants, for information in general. ❤ I wanted to be a plastic surgeon when I was in high school, maybe that’s why. Anyway, I became a filmmaker (nothing alike).
hows that going for you?
geezzz same here
Please feature more of Gloria! She is so sweet!
Very informative thank you very much 😊
Thank you for the information!

TY Dr. Link Linkov. I think you are the only M.D. on you tube. My question is ,do you recommend a hair transplant to a 70 Y/O man who is healthy? Is it worth it? Thank you for your help.
I’m glad I saw this thank you 🙏
I have a quick question I have lots of hair just around the back of my neck it's always been really thick and healthy... Could this be a donor area for a hair transplant or if this hair not good enough to move to the scalp..... Thank you for any info
Excellent video, thank you Dr Linkov.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Is it ok to go back to using minoxdil again and biotin supplement after years of not using them before getting a hair transplant in the far future ?
Im been watching the series. I wanted to ask how long you could wear the bandanna after the third day if you get the shave?
Lately I've been reading about the subject and I noticed that some sites claim that the success rate of the FUE method is around 40% to 80%. Even knowing that each individual reacts differently, is it possible to have an idea from what time after the surgery it can be considered as the final result?
Hey Doc ! ive come to realise that so far some the best hair transplants ive seen have been of mgk and elon musk both who have had FUT procedures and has got me considering the FUT alot more
Hi! What would you recommend for a women? I talked to a doctor who offers both, but for women he said they only do FUT?
So in FUE the donar area at the back where you ounch and take hair out, leaves small spots of baldness.. So then hair never cones back there?
Is it true only 30-35% of the grafts with FUE are taken from the DHT resistant safe donor area?
I just contacted 2 hair treatment facilities in turkey. The first one said, I'm not qualified for the hair transplantation, because I don't have enough hair on the donor area. The 2nd place said, I'm qualified for the treatment. I'm confused, I don't want to receive hair transplantation and then regret it in the future.
Very informative u never fail to provide good info about hair transplant, do you have any info on african american hair transplant surgery?
Can I possibly get a recommendation for a practice to use in Central Florida vicinity (34442) who uses the WAW or Trivellini FUE systems? Many thanks!!
Dope Doc!!
Hi, I am planning to get a beard transplant but I am worried about the scars on the donor area because I am bald. Do anyone knows if the fue leaves visible scars on the scalp? I am afraid of visible scars on a bald head
Can hair be taken from another patient? as in bone marrow transplantation, i.e. if some criteria match and have been checked in advance?
@Doctor Gary Linkov thanks for making the video! I came from the McGregor video you made and in that video you commented that he continued to thin potentially because he had an FUE and it could have been taken from an unsafe area. I am confused now because i thought you said you generally get more growth with FUT. Can you please clarify?
Which option is better fut n fue combination with beard hair or DHT with beard hair fr grade 6 baldness
Wow!! He’s thorough and CUTE!! 😌
i was hoping to get something done till i found out just the consultation is a year from when u call or email so imagine the surgery date
Hey Dr Linkov does neosporin help reduce scaring in the donor area?
Does the area in the back of the head ever get hair back or is it now gone forever since it’s now in the hairline?
The clinic I am communicating with use a system called the SafeGraft for extraction. Is that good? He said it's not a "robot".
Strange question.
Does fut lift your face? Getting rid of a slice of skin on the back of the head could potentially lift the forehead if you have very loose skin no?
How much does it cost due and how many do you have to do to look natural ?
Thoughts on now hair time turkey I'm due to go end of the month but I'm still unsure
I have a question so the hair that gets pulled out you said it leaves a scar does the hair that was pulled out will grow back ?
so I am planning to get a transplant. the doctor said because of my hair type (african american curly hair) I would need FUT.. I want FUE because of less scar, can FUE be done properly on african american hair? please help!
I saw an ad where they were claiming that the saphir method was the most begning, when it comes to implanting the hair.
They basically make a small aperture first and afterwards insert the hair follicles.
Im skeptic about it. Cause I dont believe one can be so acurate and would end up enlarging the aperture.
What is your take on the saphir method? Im not sure if thats how you say it english. In Germany they say Saphir...
Which is better if you have minor hypotrophic scarring ?
I think given that I keep my hair in a two-block hairstyle, FUT would be my preferred method
Great information. I definitely want to stay away from the robot transplants, but I didn't know what smart graft and neograft meant and now I know I also don't want that.
👍🏼 I always tell people to pick the surgeon not the machine.
What makes you against them out of interest?
Hello there, thanks very much for the video. But I just have a couple of questions that you could maybe answer. I was thinking of going with an FUE transplant. If these hairs are taken from the back of the head, what is the liklihood of these actually falling out again if that makes sense? Also I'm aware that you receive mediciation post op, which is to help with further hairloss. In your experience does the medication help patients? AS I have been taking Finisteride to help with further hairloss for the last 4-5 months and it has literally done nothing to combat the hairloss. Also with the FUE would the scars be very noticeable? For example I would get a fade haircut on the back and sides, so would any scarring be noticeable? Would very much apprecaite a response on this.
Please reach out to the office for a consultation.
Gday does the hair taken from the donor area grows back to normal?
Random fact (IMO;) 5:29 The "WAW" system is highly likely to be named after a classic type of guitar FX pedal called a "WahWah pedal" named or CryBaby brand expression pedal. Just look how similar they look too. This FX pedal has been used by artists like Hendrix, and Slash, and a huge amount more.
Which technic is best for hair transplant? Fut, Fue, Dhi, Dht? Pls reply me
Hello sir hairtansplant lifetime ke liye hotha hai
I was wanting to get a hair transplant but my mom says don’t my hair is thin and fine due to chemotherapy and from having leukemia that’s my skepticism can they truly fix my hair
Does hair grow back at the harvested area?
How long would you have to be out of the gym if your a wrestler
thanks man!
Great information doctor! New fan
I’m debating between FUT and FUE because I’m kind of young (29) and I want to keep my donor area with as much Hair as I can in case I need it in the future so that’s why I’m inclined to FUT . So my question is..
You get to choose what part of the back of the head they gonna cut? Or is always the same area of the back of the head? because i seen pictures and the scar is too low and I like to keep my sides very short and will love if the scar is is a little bit higher
It always comes from the safe donor zone in the back, sometimes coming onto the sides depending on number of grafts.
Hi! I was wondering if a 4 follicular unit can be divided into two or maybe an individual unit itself?
It can be! Using a microscope you can divide grafts. I often do that for eyebrow cases.
You can do that in fue procedure or FUT?
Which procedure is best for a woman to fill in her hairline?
You've nicely Describe..
Thanks for your video..
My fut is barely visible with a # 2 guard #3 is invisible.
Thanks!
Does punches are single use? Motor and hand?
Or these punches need sharpening? Or they changed in motor sistem and don't change in hand old school method?
Good question. The punches are reusable but after about 4000 grafts they are usually discarded, since sharpening them reduces their efficacy. At least for the WAW punches that I use.
I just had an FUE done and I wonder if I can get an FUT for my 2nd procedure. What’s the reason you recommend FUT first? If I get FUT and FUE, either way don’t I have the same number of grafts and even if I depleted my FUT strip with an FUE beforehand it doesn’t decrease my grafts because they’re already on my hairline? And the individual grafts that were extracted from non-strip donor area were going to be extracted after a 2nd FUE anyway? So it seems like it shouldn’t matter what you start with. Or am I misunderstanding something?
You are right, if you are working on the hairline, FUE would give you better density & natural look. If you are working in the crown area for your 1st surgery, then FUT can be a better choice, as FUE would give you better hairline grafts, which you can save for future if needed.
Anyway the number remains the same either ways. 1st FUT, followed by FUE is ok, but sometimes the hair can get pulled because of the scar of FUT, in the adjoining areas leading to higher transection rates of FUE, depending upon the extent of scarring.
1st FUE followed by FUT, however poses the same challenge at microscopic level. But here you have an advantage that surgeon can visualise the grafts under microscope as FUT is not a blind procedure like FUE.
You can draw your conclusions.
Hey, doc. I'm from Brazil and I didn't knew we had those preview methods around haha. I have a question for you: How can a normal person identify a good doctor since everyone is trying to sell their product? What are the things to look for on a clinic? Thx
I'm afraid your question is more easily asked than answered, unfortunately. It's not an exact science, separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. Of course I would look at the doctors themselves, through their own marketing (though very cynically, taking it all with a grain of salt, remembering that they are after all essentially salesmen), but would tend to focus more on consumer reviews/reports, to the extent that you can find them. The best doctors do obviously tend to charge more, but just because one is more expensive than another does not necessarily mean they are actually better. So, it's not an easy thing, as I said. Wish it was, though. Research, research, research, is my main advice.
@@51MontyPython i agree some doctors charge more because they have machines or because they're very marketable meaning they have a huge reputation. You wouldn't want to pay 15000 dollars 1500 grafts
This is very informative! Thank you!
I've had 9 hair transplants starting in 2005. I have three ear-to-ear strip scars and FUE scarring. I was not taking Finasteride so I'd have surgery, lose hair, have another surgery. I now have a pretty full looking head of hair but I regret having the scars. However, it did lead me to my current profession as a Scalp Micropigmentation clinic owner/artist.
why not just take finasteride
Thank you very much
Hi Gary can also speak on DHI? Pros cons and whether or not to consider that or the/fut?
Yeh I will. Too much misinformation out there.
How much would FUE cost for hairline?
Thank you so much for your videos. It helps a lot. I would like to ask why FUT scars are always a strange line. Do doctors only want to graft from a straight line?
From what I understand (and I am NOT an expert), a graft is a single patch of hair, so naturally you would want the area (which will be scarred) to be as small and minimal as possible, so of course wouldn't want to do it over a large single area. Hope that made sense.
@@51MontyPython Instead of long straight line, why don't they do smaller line different area?
How much does it cost to have a first consultation for an estimate?
So enlightening ❤❤
Can you get FUE hair transplant on FUT scar?
Solid Video
Are you aware of the literature on hair survival rates and how you see more success with hair follicules that are not individually separated from the unit i.e a large punch biospsy with multiple hairs will last longer than if those hairs were seperated out indiviually. It seems like If true, what would be the implications of that for FUT vs FUE, if any?
FUE success rates have been shown to be comparable to FUT
I find it kind of funny that the pedal unit called the Wah, looks exactly like the Wah Wah pedal for guitarists, which makes the classic "wah wah" sound, Jimi Hendrix made the Wah Wah a popular thing among guitarists. I even owned one back in the 80's. Do you think the creators of this Wah System was also a guitarist and used the idea of the wah wah pedal as a vehicle to drive this apparatus?
great video a couple of questions what's the average cost for tipical transplant and were are u based at
I’m in NYC! For pricing please call the office. Number in bio.
Hi Doctor, the FUT scar can be camouflaged by a tattoo? The micro pigmentation must be very often but the tattoo is done only once, right? Is there a problem with choosing a tattoo? Thank you very much!
It’s possible. Most people want a more temporary solution in case they don’t like it.
